After Derick left Arthur’s mansion, Aurora returned to Arthur’s room to check on him, and getting there, she found him still sleeping soundly. She approached his bed silently so as not to wake him up and carefully sat on the edge of the bed. She stared at his face as she began to recall everything Derick had told her about him again. She had no idea who Anita was or what she looked like but she hated her so much for hurting Arthur so much. She wished she had met the old, loving, Arthur. Derick made her realize how soft he used to be. “I can’t wait for you to go back to the man you used to be, Mr. Arthur. If that’s even going to ever happen.” She muttered, racing her index finger over his face. Arthur’s eyes tightened as soon as he felt Aurora touch him. His eyes slightly parted, causing Aurora to hastily move away from the bed. “Mr. Arthur.” She called softly. Arthur clenched his jaws as he stretched out, turning to lay on his side. “What are you doing here?” He asked in a lo
Placing his soup on the table, Aurora sat at the dining table and waited for him to dive in. She couldn’t stop smiling, believing she and Arthur just had a moment in the kitchen. “Do you have to watch me eat?” Arthur asked, picking up the spoon and scooping some soup. “Yes. I have to make sure you finish all of it. It will help your hangover and fever.” Aurora answered. He heaved a sigh and slowly nodded, covering the spoon with his mouth as he took some porridge in. Arthur's face lit up again in reaction to the taste of the porridge satisfying his taste buds even more than it did when he tasted it in the kitchen. “Why does the taste of my food cause a reaction on your face all the time?” Aurora asked with a chuckle, and he smirked. “Maybe because it tastes so good? Where did you learn how to cook?” He asked. “Well, I didn’t learn it. I kept doing it over and over again until I got better. My mother isn’t such a great mother, so she hardly cooked for me even when I was young.
“But if you want to go, then you can go. I can just call my doctor.” Arthur mumbled, trying to reach for his phone. “I already canceled on him, Arthur. I can’t go back again.” Aurora answered, dropping her bag and rushing into the bathroom to get the water and towel. When she was out of the room, Arthur turned to look at Ryan and chuckled. “This stays between us.” He whispered to him. “Chocolate?” Ryan asked, stretching his hand to him. “Ask Theo to give all of you. He still has some chocolates in the store.” He answered, still speaking in a low tone. The boys excitedly got off the bed and ran out of the room to fetch Theo. As soon as Aurora came out of the bathroom, Arthur pointed to the door. “Can you please lock that? I don’t want the boys coming to disturb me again.” Arthur said to her, and she nodded, heading to the door to lock it. Locking the door, she approached Arthur’s bed and sat next to him, placing the bowl of water on the bedside table. While she soaked the tow
“I don’t think he’ll want me there,” Carter muttered as he cuddled with Derick. Derick invited him to Arthur’s thirty-fifth birthday party, but Carter just couldn’t see how he was going to enjoy himself there. Since he left Arthur’s house, he has hardly seen or talked to him. I just wanted to stay away for reasons best known to him. “Why would you say that? Of course, he wants you there. You’re going to be with me.” Derick insisted, causing Carter to roll his eyes. “That’s the only reason why he’d want me there. Because I’m with you, not because we are friends. And what if he acts strange that day when he sees me in his mansion, hun?” “He wouldn’t. I promise. I’ll let him know you’ll be coming, so this will prepare him, okay? Pretty please come. Because of me.” Derick muttered, caressing Carter’s arms as he spoke. Carter let out a loud sigh and eventually nodded. “Fine. I’ll go since you can’t stop sulking about it.” He muttered, and Derick muttered. He lifted his head and plun
The day was finally day. The day everyone in Arthur’s House anticipated, including Arthur himself. He couldn’t wait to see the surprise on Aurora’s face when he gave her the dress he got for her. He refused to say a word about it, and Aurora had to sort out her dress as she never expected anything of such. The preparations began in the house. Though Aurora drafted the plans, Arthur insisted that she didn’t do any lifting or decorations. All she had to do was supervise and instruct. While she was in the living room, Theo took care of the boys in their room, getting them dressed smartly in their cute neatly tailored suits. Arthur walked out of the room and headed to the living room to see that the decorations were almost done. His living room looked so beautiful, different, and spacious. But this wasn’t the source of his excitement. He needed Aurora to try on her dress as soon as possible. He couldn’t wait anymore. “Aurora!” He called from on top of the stairs, raising his head.
“Who is she to Arthur? Why is he so possessive of her?” Josh asked Derick as they watched him pull Aurora away from the man. “Well, you should know the answer by now,” Derick answered, his eyes scanning the room, looking for his man. “He’s in love with her? That is impossible! It’s Arthur’s rule never to fall in love.” Josh uttered in awe. “Rules are meant to be broken, Josh. I’d advise you to settle down, already. Even Arthur has found love. Enough of trying to have every woman in the whole world.” Derick responded, carefully placing his glass on the table as he left to get Carter. Arthur kept holding Aurora’s hand until they were very far from the young man who kept making her laugh and chuckle. “Do you know him?” Arthur asked, looking at Aurora. “Who? That man?” She asked as they both looked in his direction. “No, I don’t. But he’s a very nice man. He knows so many things. Super intelligent and funny! You should get to know each other!” Aurora uttered in excitement, and Arth
“Mummy! Mummy!” Aurora heard the boys call her right from her slumber. She groaned, turning on her side as she heard their voices again. “Mummy, wake up!” Rowan uttered, holding onto her legs, while struggling to climb up the bed after his brother’s had.“I’m up. I’m up.” Aurora grunted, forcefully opening her eyes. Very close to her eyes was Ryan's face, with a wide grin on it. “Good morning, mummy!” He greeted her immediately when he saw her eyes open. “Hey, Ryan. Good morning. Why are you all up so early?” She groaned, moving her messy hair from her face as she tried to sit up. “Up so early? Mummy, it’s 1 p.m. I don’t know why Ryan decided to say good morning. It’s afternoon.” Riley responded, shaking his head. “She’s just waking up. Isn’t that the first thing to say to someone that just woke up??” Ryan retorted, causing Aurora to chuckle. She rubbed their heads with her hand, letting out a wide smile. “I’ll accept any greetings from you, okay?” She answered, and they nodde
After three days of asking Aurora to be his girlfriend, Arthur began to secretly plan a trip to one of his resorts with her to surprise her. After making sure the resort was ready, he headed into Aurora’s room and found her staring into her mirror blankly. She was so lost that she didn’t know when he came in. Slowly, he moved closer to her and wrapped his arms around her from behind, making her jolt. “Oh gracious heavens, you scared me!” She uttered as they both giggled. “What’s on your mind? You were so lost, you didn’t even know when I stepped in.” He responded, and she heaved a sigh, staring at his face through the mirror. “Nothing. Was just thinking about this and that.” She answered, caressing his arms that wrapped around her. “Are you sure? You know you can tell me anything, right?” He assured her. A smile lit up her face as she turned to look at him, his arms still around her. “I know, Arthur. I was just thinking about how perfect my life is now. Years back, I never th
