I don’t trust her

“Aurora?” Arthur called in surprise, disengaging from Anita’s hug and standing up.

Anita looked back and saw Aurora staring at her with a stern look, but she kept on a feeble smile.

“Hi, Aurora. You’re here.” Anita uttered, holding onto the couch firmly as she stood up.

“I… I came for the boys. I didn’t… mean to interrupt,”

Aurora stuttered, looking away as she walked past them to the boys’ room.

Getting to the front of their door, she felt the back of her eyes heat up. Tightening her jaws, she put on a fake grin and opened their door.

“Surprise!” She uttered, causing the boys to look at her.

“Mummy!” They all chorused in excitement and ran towards her. She lowered herself to the ground so they could embrace her.

“I thought you were joking when you said you’d see us soon. You really came.” Ryan uttered in excitement, and she chuckled, nodding her head.

“I wouldn’t hurt your feelings by lying about such a thing. I’ve missed you all so much!” She responded, embracing them tightl
