For a minute, everything stood still. I could hear the sound of my heartbeat rushing through my ears.
I'd messed up hadn't I? Fuck what the hell had possesed me to kiss him?! I pulled away instantly, my face burning with embarrassment.
"I… I'm sorry. I hadn't-"
Dean's free hand cupped my cheeks gently, tilting my head so I could look at him. My breath snagged at the intensity of his gaze, whatever I wanted to say melted in the heat of his hands on my face. His thumb slowly stroked my bottom lip, his touch burning yet soft and sensual, causing me to shudder.
Oh...that felt good.
Dean closed his eyes briefly, made a low noise in his throat and covered the distance between us. His mouth met mine and the world fucking melted in the background. His hand slid from holding my cheeks to cupping my neck as he devoured my lips and hell it felt good!
I grabbed at his chest, hungry, aching, eager to receive all that he could give. The pleasure that his kisses promised. His abs rumbled beneath my touch, and his hands tightened around my hips, pulling me closer into that warm enticing heat.
"More," I moaned, when he pulled away. Sliding my hands around his neck, I pressed my lips against the crook of his neck, darting my tongue to taste that damned Adam apple that teased the hell out of me. His hands, firm and rough, grabbed my breasts through the flimsy nightwear I wore. "Oh fuck!"
He hummed, captured my lips again as his hands kneaded and fondled my breasts, plucking at my nipples through my gown.
Fuck yes, please.
Like a damned wanton, I arched into his touch, panting, wishing he would rip the damned dress apart and cover my aching nipples with his mouth. That sinfully skillful mouth.
But as quickly as it began, the kiss ended.
My eyes flickered open slowly to see Dean stare down at me, his eyes shifting back to their brown colour. His face remained poised over mine, breathing heavily. My scattered thoughts returned, arranging themselves like a damned puzzle and my eyes widened like saucers when I realized what I had just done.
"Oh my Gosh!" I squealed, yanking myself out of his hold with all the mortification in the world dawning on me.
Shit! How messed up could I possibly be?! I had just made out with my step brother!
"I… I'm sorry!" I blurted, trying to quell my shaky nerves. "That should not have happened. I don't know what came over me."
Dean simply stared at me for a long while, his lips pressed into a firm line then shrugged.
"Right," he muttered, getting off the bed. I watched him leave the room without another word, my jaw opened like a damned fool.
What on Earth just happened?! I shouldn't be locking lips with my brother, he's mom's step son! That was messed up!
But his lips… Oh his lips. Moon goddess, they had felt so good. So hot and demanding. And his hands. I glanced at my nightdress to see my nipples poking through the fabric. What I would have given for him to push the dress aside and just touch me-
"No!" I snapped, grabbing a pillow to my chest. "That's sick! That's disgusting, quit thinking about him, Hannah,"
Adjusting myself under the covers, I buried my face in my pillow and tried to force myself to sleep.
The next morning, I made sure to get up very early. It wasn't like I could sleep anyways. The earlier I was done, the sooner I could get my ass back to Chicago.
After brushing and freshening up, I made my way downstairs to the kitchen, resisting the urge to puke when I heard raucous laughter from the kitchen. I could deal with seeing Damon and Damian. But not Dean. Not after last night.
I peeked into the kitchen to see Dean and Damon talking and laughing about who the hell knows and felt my shoulders sag in defeat. The universe just had it out for me.
Perhaps I could turn around and wait for everyone to leave? I could just stay cooped up till twelve or something-
"Hannah?" Damon called.
Ah shit! I've been spotted. He probably smelled my presence or something. Clearing my throat awkwardly, I walked into the kitchen with a pasty smile on my lips.
"Morning," I said, trying to sound casual as I grabbed a cup and walked to the coffee maker. Dean stood a few meters away from the darned machine and when I threw a look at him, I could swear I heard my panties snap. There was no mistaking the heat in those golden eyes.
"Morning, Hannah," Damon replied cheerfully, oblivious to the brewing tension in the air.
Dean nodded in acknowledgment, his burning gaze following my every move. The awkwardness between us was palpable and if this kept up, judging from my shaking fingers, I'd be spilling hot coffee all over my cashmere top. I tried to focus on my coffee, hoping it would provide some distraction at least before I go back upstairs.
"So, Hannah," Damon called, "Did you sleep well? How was your night?"
"I… uh… it was fine, thank you," I lied. I couldn't sleep a wink. "The bed was comfortable, at least."
I heard a shuffle from Dean and sipped from my coffee quickly to hide my burning face.
"That is great. We are heading out in a few minutes. You'll be gone before we come back, right?" Damon asked and I nodded.
"Yeah, I'll leave after I talk to mom,"
Damon pouted rather adorably and nodded. "Well, it was really great meeting you, Hannah, and I do hope that we meet again sometime soon," he grinned.
"Yeah… sure," I mumbled awkwardly.
"Come on, Dean. We'll wait for Damian in the garage. Dude takes forever getting ready, I swear he should have been born a girl."
"You go ahead," Dean murmured and the hair on my neck bristled. "I need to get something first. I'll be right behind you."
"Sure thang," Damon replied cheerily, threw me a wave and walked out of the kitchen.
I listened in as the sound of his footsteps slowly receded and swallowed. Dean hadn't taken his eyes off me. I would know. I could feel his burning gaze everywhere, sizing me up as if trying to see through my clothes.
Suddenly, he moved towards me and my eyes looked up at him in alarm.
"Hannah," he called, his deep voice sending my nerves in a fucking frenzy. "Listen-"
“No,” I interrupted, laughing lightly as he backed me up against the damn counter. “All this awkwardness really isn't necessary. What happened last night was a mistake.”
“A mistake?” He muttered, arching a perfect brow and I nodded.
“Yes, a mistake."
Dean crossed his arms, his expression blank. My gaze fell on his bulging muscles and I licked my lips hungrily.
Focus Hannah!
“I see." he said coolly.
Surprised by his nonchalance, I held my hand up in defense.
"Look," I began, searching my head for the right words. "What happened between us was a moment of vulnerability. The adrenaline was high, I was scared and must have wanted comfort in some way and we got caught up in the intensity of the situation. But it was wrong, and I don't feel anything beyond that."
His jaw tensed and his eyes flickered with hurt. “Liar.”
I winced at the blunt tone of his voice. "What?”
“You are lying between your teeth, Hannah," he growled, placing his rather impressive hand on the counter, leaning closer until I was caged in.
Oh no no.
"Dean-"
"I am a Lycan, Hannah," he said, flaring his nostrils, “I could smell your arousal from miles away, baby. Hell even now,"
Oh God. I clenched my thighs together, wishing the floor would swallow me. His gaze had turned from golden again, and every nerve ending hummed when he licked his canines.
“You want me," He said so fucking bluntly, I had no idea why I found it hot. An image of him poised above the woman from the club, flashed through my head and I groaned.
"Admit it Hannah. It's okay to have hesitations, but do not deny what you feel. I know you want me, and trust me, it is mutual. But I am not going to push."
"Dean, look, I really don't want any trouble.” I said, hating myself from sounding breathless.
“I know," He replied and pulled away, a rather haunting sadness in his eyes. "Goodbye, Hannah. I hope we meet again.”
I stood by the kitchen counter after he left, still reeling from the emotional exchange with Dean, when my mother walked into the room.
"Hannah, sweetheart," she said, her voice gentle. "I need to talk to you."
I nodded, my heart still heavy with the weight of recent events. "Sure, Mom."
She looked at my outfit and her smile slowly disappeared. “You are leaving today, right? Really? I had hoped you would stay a bit longer."
“Mum, I-I cannot stay here,”
Mom placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. "I know things are not very easy on you right now," she began, her eyes filled with concern. "But your stepfather and I really want to spend some quality time together as a family. Can you stay with us just until next week?"
I felt a rush of panic at the mention of my stepfather but waved it off immediately.
"Mom, I appreciate it and all. And I'm happy you've found happiness, but I was thinking of going back to my place for a few days," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady.
I need to leave. I need to get the hell out of this place!
Mum’s gaze softened. “I know this has been tough, and I understand that you need some time," she said, her voice filled with empathy. "But I believe that spending time together as a family can help us all heal and move forward."
I glanced down, unsure of what to say. Part of me wanted to be with my family, to work through the complexities, but another part of me was scared of the wounds that might be reopened.
Chicago was safe. Decorah was not.
Mum touched my cheek gently, encouraging me to look at her. I wanted to yell for her to leave me alone. She did not understand! How could she ask that of me?
"Hannah, I know it's not easy, but I promise you, we'll figure this out together," she said, her voice unwavering. "Give us a chance to be a family, to help you heal, and to create new memories."
No! Every fiber, every inch of me revolted against the idea. But I couldn't… I couldn't deny mom.
Tears welled up in my eyes, and I nodded, giving in to her words. "Okay, Mom," I said softly. "I'll stay."
Her smile brightened, and she pulled me into a hug. "Thank you, sweetheart," she whispered. "I know this won't be easy, but I really want to spend more time with my daughter."
I hugged her in return. Perhaps this was good. Dr Peterson did say I had to heal by facing my fear. My mum was a major part of my life and I could not let that go because I was haunted by my past.
Mum released me then, placed a kiss on my forehead and gave my hand a gentle squeeze.
“Alex and I are heading out this morning. I am sorry that you have to stay home all alone this morning. I promise to make it up to you.”
“Oh, don’t worry,” I laughed, “Mum, I can handle being all alone, trust me. I kinda prefer it, so I will be fine.”
“Great. We will go shopping tomorrow, but in the meantime, please go up to Damian’s room and call him, or else his brothers will wait for eternity. It shouldn't be hard to find his room, it's the first on the left upstairs."
I laughed and left the kitchen, taking hesitant steps towards Damian’s door and knocked.
When there was no response, I pushed open the door, and my jaw hell as hell fell to the ground. His room was grand! An elegant mix of gold and white. The walls were adorned with different paintings and framed pictures, and by the side of his bed was a short, fully stacked bookshelf.
I raised my brow and took a few steps closer. Definitely hadn't taken him for a reader.
I jolted when I heard the creak of a door and turned around and saw Damian stepping out of the bathroom, all wet and… Good Lord.
Naked.
Damian was butt naked.
And goddess, he looked magnificent.
My eyes trailed down his rather huge body, watching water droplets slide down his hair, down his Adam apple that bobbed slowly as he stared back at me. My lips dried when the droplets slid down the large expanse of his muscular chest. He had a long scar on his waist and I frowned.
What had happened to him there?
I couldn't think about that scar for very long though. Not with that huge cock jutting out proudly.
Oh my Gosh. Oh my fucking gosh. I wanted to look away but I just couldn't. I couldn't for the life of me look away.
"Are you having fun back there?" Damian's teasing voice brought me back to reality.
“What?” I blurt out, blinking stupidly and tearing my eyes away from Damian’s junk, daring to look at his face. Sure enough, he had a wide grin playing on his lips. His hands reached for the towel and thankfully, he tied it around his waist. “I said, are you having fun over their sister?” He asked, stepping closer. “I understand if you've never seen something so beautiful in a lifetime. Are you totally blown away?” Stupid, I thought, mentally slapping myself in the face. Fucking stupid. I took a step back when he walked over to me, a mischievous glint in his eye. Heat rushed to my cheeks, and I rolled my eyes, attempting to play it cool. “Please, Damian,” I retorted, trying to hide my embarrassment. “I've seen better. Get over yourself.” He chuckled, drawing even closer, the heat radiating off him licked at my skin. “You sure about that, Hannah? Your face is all red.” “You’re imagining things,” I replied, my tone laced with mock indifference. Damian raised an eyebrow, “O
“We are tossed by the winds of fate. Once we end where they blow us, we make of ourselves that we will.”Smart man, Neill, but it isn't easy now, is it? I mused, turning over the page of the book I was reading, mentally applauding Nora Roberts for being such a great wordsmith. And I have to say that Margaret Mary was definitely my spirit animal.I remained in my room, lost in the book, when the distant sound of laughter and footsteps reached my ears. A groan slipped from my lips. Oh well, there goes peace and quiet. At least, It was good while it lasted. The echoes of their return grew louder, and I closed the book, getting up from my chair. Knowing the family I lived with, they were bound to disturb me very soon. And Truly, a soft knock came on my door just a few minutes later. I walked over and opened the door to see Damon standing there looking as ravishing as always. Dark hair, slightly tousled, fell over his eyes. He was dressed casually in a white tank top that clung to hi
TRIPLET DESIRES: 007Well, as far as party preparation goes, this one right here was going pretty well.Mum was busy barking out instructions to the boys, and they all obeyed her, hanging bulbs, flowers, and wires where they should be.It was very fascinating seeing how well she relates with her stepsons. And seeing that relationship made me a little jealous. Not that I wanted my mum to myself, but because I wanted to know what it would feel like to really be a part of them. But there is always the negative what ifs….What if I just get hurt again?Logically, I know that I should not judge everyone because of one person's actions. How long have they known each other? That is something I have not had the chance to ask her yet. Not that we have had any opportunity to really talk since I got here.“Hannah, honey? Hand those blue bulbs to Dean and take the red roses to the dinning, will you?”I nodded, and walked over to Dean – who has been interestingly avoiding me for hours now.He to
TRIPLET DESIRES: 008“Baby,” Mom muttered taking my hands, “What Nathaniel did to you, was unforgivable and my-” “It was not your fault, mum,” I interrupted, giving her hands a small squeeze. Her eyes glistened, and I knew she felt quite awful about it. “He had you fooled, mom. He had all of us fooled. And you were in love,” Mum scoffed and shook her head. “And very blind. I should have noticed the signs. But I was too focused on having a happy marriage and neglected you. I'll forever regret that, Hannah," I squeezed her hand again, trying not to think so much about the memories that threatened to come back. It was all in the past. All in the fucking past.“Mom, I'm fine, aren't I? It's okay. We can't go back to the past or change things-' “But it hurts to see you like this,” She cried, wrenching her hands away from me to cover her face. “You're always so guarded, so scared. Unwilling to let people in. You used to be the sunshine of our lives, and I hate to see how much of you ha
My scars….I gasped and scrambled to the other end of the bed, getting as far away from him as I could get.Dean got up on his knees, staring at me with a raised brow.My heart raced as I stared into his face, searching for a reaction, but I found none. However, the desire and lust I had seen in those eyes a few minutes ago were gone, and now there was nothing.Oh, God!!He must be so disgusted.“Hannah…”“No please,” I rushed out, “Please, don’t say anything, I am sorry, I got so carried away. Please leave.” “Hannah, you don’t have to…”‘Please leave” I whispered harshly, pulling the duvet up to my chest.Suddenly, I just felt bare and naked.“Just listen to me dammit!” he roared, “I do not fucking care if you….”A sharp knock at the door cut him off, and I gasped in shock. What if it is my mum?“Hannah?” It was Damon’s voice, “Your mother wants you downstairs. Dinner is ready,” I glanced at Dean, who was glaring daggers at the door, and cleared my throat.“I will be down there in
The light tap on my door was what woke me up the next day. I stirred on the bed, slowly opening my eyes to shield them from the sunlight which filtered through the curtains. Before I could full open my eyes, a soft voice came from the door, rousing me awake.“Hannah, sweetheart. It's me. Are you up yet?”Well, I am up now.Throwing the blanket from my body, I got down from the bed and stumbled towards the door, running my hand over my face. When I opened the door, my eyes widened when I saw my mum all dressed up and smiling widely.“Hey you,” She greeted, brushing past me into the room.“Hey mum.” I closed the door and followed her to the bed, where she sat down, still grinning and bouncing in obvious excitement.“You are all teeth this morning. What's happened?”“Did I wake you up?” I shrugged, “Yeah, but it's already day break anyway, so no Biggie. What's going on?” She chuckled then tapped the space beside her, “Sit down here. Don't you know what today is?”Today? I sat beside h
The whole sitting room was already filled up when I got downstairs. Different people, all dressed elegantly, scattered around the room, a few moving to the sound of the music that was blasting loudly through the speakers, while others were just gathered in different groups, speaking with glasses of wine in their hands.Everything looked perfectly okay and beautiful, just how mum wanted.Speaking of mum_ I thought, looking around, where are the host and the hostess of the party? But I could not see them find them, even after a few minutes of sweeping my eyes around the room.I turned towards the kitchen, suddenly craving a cup of milk, but before I could turn towards the door, I was blocked by a very broad chest in a blue shirt. “Hello beautiful,” A throaty voice called, and I dragged my eyes up to a very ruggedly handsome face and deep brown eyes, “I have not seen you around before. Mind if I get you a drink?”I took a step back_ not just because of the stench of alcohol in his brea

The tiny cry woke me up from my nap.I opened my eyes slowly and the first sight my eyes caught, made my heart leap in joy.Dean was sitting on a rocking chair, with the baby in his hand…our daughter, and damn does she have a pair of lungs on her.“Are you doing fine over there, daddy?” I asked with a smile as he hummed to her.He lifted his eyes to me and grinned so widely my heart leaped again.“I'm fine. She will quiet down soon enough.” He said, “Damon and Damian went out to grab some provision. They will be back soon.”I nodded, resisting the urge to ask for the baby.I could tell he was enjoying the time with her.We were still at the hospital. Young Laura was born about twelve hours ago and that moment, the moment I heard her cry for the first time, was simply the best moment of my life. The triplets were equally thrilled too. I don't believe I've ever seen their eyes carry as much love and joy as they had when they stared at our little bundle of joy.Laura.Named after the you
I frowned. My daughter? What did he mean his daughter? Surely, it could not be my mum because he seems to be the same age as her. And I'm the only lady present. Or is he speaking of another lady entirely? My daughter? The man seemed oblivious of my shock though as he marched towards Justin who was shaking, his eyes widened in shock. “Adam…” Mum called again, and he stopped, pausing for a moment and took in a deep breath, perhaps to calm his temper. Then slowly, ever so slowly, he turned to my mum and his expression changed. From angry, to something else. Guilt, remorse, pain, and …love? Again…who is this man? But deep down I already knew who he was. However, I was too shaken to admit that to myself because it couldn't be. “Elena…” He murmured and took a step forward, but my mum retraced with one step… silently making it clear that she didn't want him close. He got the message because his face tightened with more guilt. I walked beside my mum protectively. I have no idea
“Excuse me?”“Take me instead, Justin,” I whispered and perched my ass on the edge of the bed, too weak to stand.I have no idea-absolutely no idea what I was doing, but mum never did anything wrong. Not for once. All she wanted was some peace and happiness. If Justin wanted a hostage, he should have held me instead.“Oh Hannah,” Justin chuckled, “Now that's very sweet and all, but I didn't leave any room for negotiation.”“Oh shut it Justin. This will be better for you, trust me. Holding me gives you more leverage over the triplets, the majority. Because they would never want to do anything to risk my life. Alex would sacrifice his wife for the pack. Your brothers would not do the same.”He paused for a few seconds while I struggled to calm my racing nerves. I can do this. I can do this.“What can I say? I'm surprised, Hannah, but who am I to say no to such a voluntary offer?”I breathed out a sigh of relief as he gave me details of where I was to come.“Now I have to warn you, beaut
This can't be.Absolutely notThe triplets burst into the room, their faces filled with alarm and Alex right behind them.""What is wro... where on Earth is Elena?" Alex growled brushing past his sons.He grabbed my arms, "Where is your mum Hannah?"Let her go dad!" Damian barked as u broke into uncontrollable above and twisted away from his painful grip.In desperation I pointed to the note and Alex picked it up immediately.I watched his expression darken with anger as his eyes scanned the note. His anger was palpable, matching mine.I was Shaking, tears rushing down my cheeks."Dammit!" Alex hissed.Dean snatched the note from him and they read it together."What the...how could Justin do this?" Alex roared again. The guys all rushed to my side and I grabbed the first arm that came around me. I held onto him tightly and placed my head on Damian's chest, my body shaking with sobs. Not again, dear God please not again."Hannah..." Damon called and I shook my head when I heard the sym
SHOCK FROZE MY FEET TO THE GROUND and I heard Andrea's gasp just as my hand fell to my mouth which was hanging open.“Oh.mine. God,” Andrea screeched snatching the stick from my hand, “I can't believe it. Oh my god this is so great”Great, I have no idea just yet if it was great.Hell, I was too short to feel anything.“I was not expecting this,” I whispered, and Andrea snickered.“With all that sex you've been having, lately, what were you expecting?”I shook my head. No, I definitely wasn't expecting this. A baby? I'm gonna have a baby?Oh my god!I'm gonna be a mum.I placed a hand on my stomach and shuddered in delight and shock.I have a tiny life forming inside me right now.“What am I going to do?” How am I going to tell the triplets? How are they gonna react? Will they even want this?Hell, I have no idea. We have never for once, brought up the topic of a baby before.“First off…" Andrea grabbed my hand and led me to the bed, “You have to sit down and take a deep breath. Sec
I don't believe I've ever seen Dean so angry. His blue eyes turned a darker shade of golden instantly, and he marched towards his brother, murder on his face. Before Justin could react, Dean's fingers were wrapping around his neck, pulling him up.“This is what you don't do, Justin. Speak that way about our mate. And don't you dare lay your filthy fingers on her next time. Because if the thought as much as crosses your mind, I'll forget the fact that you are my little brother, and I'll crawl your eyes out and send you to the grave.”Even I was scared at the tone of his voice. Justin was coughing and grabbing his arms, the veins in his face popping as his skin turned red.“Dean, let go of your brother this very instant!”None of us heard when Alex came into the room, but his loud and deep voice was enough to snap Dean out of his rage.He released Justin, who staggered back, coughing and scratching his throat.“Can someone tell me what's happening here?” Mum walked slowly towards Alex
Making lemonade out of lemons is one thing this family was really good at, no matter what. The way we always found time to laugh despite the threats lurking around. The way we don't have to glance over our shoulder every damn second in fear. One of those moments of making lemonades was now.The kitchen was alive with laughter and chatter. We had all gathered around, sharing stories, jokes, and enjoying each other's company. The clinking of dishes, the aroma of something delicious cooking on the stove, and the warmth of togetherness filled the air. It was a welcome break from the chaos and tension that had consumed our lives recently.Alex was entertaining us with tales of his youth, back when the pack was beginning to take shape.“So, you see,” he said, “back in the day, we didn't have half the luxuries we do now. We relied on our wits and each other to survive.”Damon chimed in, “Dad, you never told Ma'am Elena about the time you tried to cook and set the whole kitchen on fire.”Alex
How Justin manages to always come in when we are talking about him never ceases to amaze him. It's like he has a radar or something.Or he's a ghost which always appears when his name is being mentioned. He stepped into the room, his presence commanding and filled with an air of violence.“Oh finally, you decide to show up.” Dean's voice was laced with frustration.Justin gave a sardonic smile, his eyes narrowing as they roamed over our family. “Well, well, isn't this cozy? I can see that you guys don't even miss me at all. I'm almost heartbroken but then…"I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, my anxiety growing. “Justin, let's talk this through. We can discuss your concerns, but there's no need for hostilities.” Alex murmured.Justin waved a dismissive hand, a wicked gleam in his eye. “Hostilities? Oh no, dad. I'm just here to set things straight. You've all had your time ruling this pack, and look where that's gotten us. Chaos, instability, and secrets.”Damian chimed in, “What do y
