Mom was tying the ties of my dress and I was grimacing at myself in the mirror. My dress was gold, full length, and the skirt was billowy but hung straight. My belly poked out and mom had manipulated the ties so that it was right under my breasts and above my belly. I looked pregnant. Which I was, so I guess that’s okay.
