Eileen's POV
As I left the hospital and saw the familiar pack, memories of past abuse assaulted my soul.
"You should let them claim you as their mate! They've never been more vulnerable!" my wolf roared. I refused to respond. I could feel Arthur and Brett's pain, but the scars of the past and the fresh betrayal from Jason… I couldn't do it.
I told her to shut up. I watched Amber quietly playing with her doll, lost in thought.
Arthur seemed to have uncovered the truth about my innocence. But what had really happened to the Luna? Why had Alpha Joseph said those things?
Back then, all the rogue scents had vanished, leaving only me and the Luna's body. I'd been unconscious and had no memory of what happened. I'd always wondered how I'd survived. I must have smelled something familiar before I blacked out.
I felt uneasy. Scents were the hardest to erase. If dark magic truly existed, it meant all packs were in grave danger…
"It's time to use our power, Eileen," my wolf said for the first time without urging me to find a mate. Her tone was serious. "For the future of the werewolves."
"The future of the werewolves?! What are you talking about, Nora?" I pressed.
"Eileen, you'll know soon. I didn't tell you because the triplets are the key to unlocking our power. We must accept their mark!" Nora said mysteriously.
I was furious she kept hiding things from me. I forcefully shut down the link.
I turned to find Amber asleep. I gently laid her on my lap, stroking her body as she breathed softly in her sleep. For Amber, I'd find a way for us to survive. I wouldn't let anyone hurt us again!
Fifteen minutes later, the familiar gates of the packhouse came into view. We'd arrived. The car stopped, and I picked up Amber. She stirred, blinking at me. She was awake now.
"Hey, sweetheart," I whispered to her, and she snuggled closer. I chuckled and got out of the car with her. "Please follow me," an omega said, leading the way. I held Amber's hand and followed. We entered the building where I'd grown up, and nostalgia hit me. The omega took me to a room I recognized—my old room.
Memories of playing with the triplets flashed before my eyes like a slideshow. I clenched my fists. It was hard to hate them as much as I hated Jason.
The omega reminded us about dinner, and Amber's appetite seemed better than ever. My unease began to fade. After Amber fell asleep, I couldn't help but doze off too.
I felt someone touch my face and woke up with a start. Brett was standing by my bed, staring at me. His green eyes were filled with sorrow—the first time I'd seen that look since the Luna's death. Now, it was for his father, Alpha Joseph.
But remembering what he'd done to me, anger burned in my veins. He and Kyle had been the ones who'd truly hurt me.
They'd forced me to clean in the snow wearing thin clothes. Brett would grab my braid, scrutinize my outfit, and mock my figure. When I'd turned to Arthur and Alex for help, they'd believed Kyle, saying it was my penance.
Just because he was my mate, was I supposed to forgive him for hurting me?
Brett's eyes flickered with mate excitement. He reached for my arm, but I coldly pushed him away. I saw his hurt expression, but I knew the bond didn't guarantee they wouldn't hurt me again. Jason had proven that. I'd reject them after ensuring Amber's safety.
I sat up, about to ask him to leave—but he hugged me, pleading, "Please, Eileen. Dad's gone. Only you can give me the strength to… say goodbye."
His vulnerability stopped me. I'd never seen him so broken. He and his brothers were pack stars. He loved racing and was always rebellious.
"Eileen," he murmured, his chin resting on my shoulder. His voice was thick with emotion, and my heart softened. I hugged him back.
He spoke again, "I… don't know where to start, but I want to apologize. Everything that happened was our fault. We didn't believe you were innocent, and we punished you for a crime you didn't commit. Please, let me make it up to you. I'll—"
"No," I interrupted, the past memories cutting deep. "I don't need anything from you. You've already caused me enough pain. I'm fine without you. I don't need your redemption." I swallowed. I knew this was harsh for someone who'd just lost his father.
I wanted to reject him like I'd rejected Arthur, to reject them all. But with Alpha Joseph's death and the mystery surrounding me, I sighed.
"Eileen," he called again. I shook my head and stepped back. "You know, maybe the Moon Goddess is punishing us for what we did to you ten years ago. Dad was so strong. How could he die from just an illness?"
I… opened my mouth and sighed. "Listen, Brett. I don't want to talk about the past or forgiveness right now. I've been through too much… I just want to find a place for Amber and me to live. We… can't go back to the past. After Alpha Joseph's funeral and once I solve the mystery of my identity, I'll leave with Amber."
When I said "leave," my heart felt like it had been struck by a stone. I could barely breathe. But I had to do this.
"No! Eileen! I'll never give up on our mate bond!" Brett grabbed my shoulders tightly, his grip hurting me. I was about to push him away when Arthur burst in, shoving Brett back.
"Are you hurting Eileen?! You bastard!" Arthur raised his fist, but I stopped him.
"Amber's still asleep," I reminded them.
"Eileen, are you okay?" Arthur asked, looking at me anxiously. I nodded. Just then, a warrior knocked on the door, interrupting the tension. He reminded us that Alpha Joseph's funeral was about to begin.
"Eileen, Dad said your existence is tied to the survival of the Blackwood Pack. I hope you'll think carefully about your decision," Arthur said gravely before leaving.
Eileen's POV"I promise you, for a while," I finally said.Arthur and Brett hugged me tightly, and I could feel their shoulders relax, before they left with the warrior. I was informed to finish breakfast with Amber and join them after. At the breakfast table, Amber still ate independently without my help. The unease in my heart eased again. I ate silently, but the sweet mate scent still lingered in the air. When they embraced me, my heart had actually anticipated more - kisses, hugs, even further...Thinking that, I couldn't help clenching my thighs together, my face heating up."Mom, are you hot?" Amber asked in confusion."No! Sweetheart, I..." I flustered, when Alex suddenly appeared."Elleen! Are you two done?" Alex's timely arrival saved me from the awkwardness. Seeing Amber's empty plate, I nodded.Alex nodded back, then led us to the burial site.It was a private ceremony with only a few attending.I kept watching the triplets' two brothers, seeing their stoic faces refusing t
Jason's POV"Alpha Jason, it's of no use. We're getting the same reports" Silas said, walking into my office and I looked up at him with a heavy frown on my face, hoping I wouldn't be receiving bad news but the look on his face already gave me the answer to what I need."What are you taking about Silas?" I asked him and he dropped a file on my desk and let out a sigh looking frustrated."The attacks on the pack borders, they are getting increasingly troublesome with each one deadlier than the last" He said and my heart dropped, I turned away from him and looked out of the window."And none of our methods have been effective?" I asked and turned to see him none, pursing him lips."None of them, Alpha Jason. This whole issue has tongue-wagging. I believe you've heard about the rumors, not just anyone but even the council members are now murmuring" Silas said and my eyes narrowed."What are they saying Silas?" I demanded and he bit his lower lips before blurting out the words."They are
Eileen's POVWhen I woke from unconsciousness, I found myself lying in a familiar room. Memories flooded back - I had shifted into a white wolf and killed the invading rogue wolves. I had never revealed this secret to Jason before, but now, Arthur knew.I tried to get up but saw Arthur standing by the bed, his gaze heavy. That look instantly took me back ten years, when I was thirteen and Luna passed away - the suspicion and rejection from the pack. Nora had told me that despite the white wolf's powerful healing abilities, it was still seen as an omen of misfortune. Had Arthur's attitude changed because of this too?"I will leave with Amber," I said coldly, though my heart ached faintly. The love and protection I had just felt seemed to be slipping away again."Leave? No, Elleen!" Arthur grabbed my hand anxiously. "We need you.""Need me? Why?" I looked at him in confusion."Do you remember shifting into the white wolf and killing those rogue wolves last night? We examined their bodie
Elleen's POVAt this moment, I didn't know what to do. My heart was struggling, too many questions flooded my mind: Why was I being hunted by rogues after leaving the Stoneheart pack? Why did I appear in the prophecy proposed by Alpha Joseph? What impact would my existence bring to the Blackwood pack?Considering my past experiences, I wasn't sure if this was a good choice. As I was about to refuse, I saw the pained look in Arthur's eyes."Elleen, believe me, I swear to the Moon Goddess that no matter what happens this time, I will stand by your side.""Elleen! Accept our mate's request! We need a mate!" my wolf urged me. "We need to kick those guys' butts!"I couldn't continue to leave here in disgrace, I had to unravel the truth!I looked him straight in the eye, then nodded.Arthur's gaze immediately turned scorching hot, his large, fiery palm enveloping the back of my hand. Part of me felt excited, especially by his eager gaze. From the first time I saw him, his gaze carried guilt
Eileen's POV"Ding ding ding..."In the early morning, the phone kept ringing. I hesitated whether to answer it or not.But Arthur seemed anxious, calling me over and over again. Since I hadn't joined the Blackwood wolf pack yet, we couldn't use the mind link.I took a deep breath, ultimately wanting to hear what Arthur wanted from me."Elleen..." Arthur's anxious voice came through immediately. "Why didn't you answer the phone, did something happen?"My fingers touched the silver pendant, and I ultimately chose to conceal this matter. I hadn't figured out the relationship between Kyle and the witches yet, so I didn't want to cause unnecessary panic."I'm fine. Arthur...I was just a little tired last night and slept too deeply," I explained. I heard Arthur breathe a sigh of relief."I thought you took Amber and were planning to sneak away again," Arthur said painfully."No! Arthur, I promised Alpha Joseph that I wouldn't leave without notice," I said firmly. "What happened?" I recalle
Eileen's POVI was happy to see him, but at the same time filled with worry. Anyone from another wolf pack coming to a different pack would be seen as an invader and immediately killed!"Silas...how did you get here?" I suddenly recalled Jason's previous wanted notice for me. "Did Alpha Jason send you?"I became guarded, my claws extending.Silas immediately lowered his head to me. "Luna Elleen...""No! I'm not your luna anymore, Silas," I shook my head."Please, luna! The Stone Heart pack is in terrible condition now. That omega Lina is actually a witch! She betrayed Alpha Jason, and the child she's carrying isn't Jason's. This is all a plot by the dark forces! Now we all need you and Amber to return and help us..." Silas pleaded.Witches...again witches. It seemed like witches had appeared in traces across various packs recently. There must be some grand conspiracy behind it all. I thought of Kyle's disguise again - could he be involved in this?As for Alpha Jason, when I heard Sila
Eileen's POVI stood there, still trying to process what had just happened. One minute I was walking away and the next, Mark was attacking me. But before he could do any real damage, someone appeared out of nowhere and kicked him to the ground.I looked up to see it was Arthur. My brows were raised in surprise. When did he get here? I had not seen or noticed him. Had he been watching the entire fight?"Arthur" I called out softly in surprise.Arthur stood over Mark, his eyes blazing with fury. I was a little relieved. Mark had lost his mind. Eveyrone knew it was an unspoken rule to not attack a soldier who had his back turned to you.Arthur's anger was very obvious and i feel the tension in the air as he glared at Mark. "How dare you," he growled, his voice low and menacing. Everyone in the training field had stopped talking and they froze, watching the scene. They were probably as surprised as I was to see their Alpha come out of nowhere to attack Mark and protect me."A.. Alpha Arth
Arthur's POVAfter Eileen left the dinner table, I took a deep breath and tried to massage my head. To say I was tired was an understatement. Running the pack alone was an underrated job. It was tiring and I couldn't believe how father had managed to run all of these without complaining. The recent attacks on the pack borders was making things increasingly worse for me. I let out a deep breath and got up from the chair. I needed to hold the meeting..I glanced down at my wrist watch to check the time and I saw that it was a little over 8pm. There was still time to talk about things with my brothers. I took out my phone and sent them all a message, including Alex before going to my office.I got to my office and took out my laptop, drinking a glass of water before starting the zoom meeting. While waiting for Alex, Kyle and Brett to join, I kept thinking over everything.I had just lost my father a few days back and I had lost his support and frequent encouragements as well and the weigh
EileenI froze when I felt his lips slowly touch mine. I took a sharp deep breath, his lips were so soft and mesmerizing, I wanted to kiss him back, I wanted to hold him and be held by him."Please Eileen, don't leave" I heard him whisper against my lips so lightly yet desperately. I could feel it, he wanted this as much as I did, maybe more than I did. But I couldn't, not only did it hurt, it made me also scared, I didn't want to put the pack member's lives at risk by being here. What if I mistakenly hurt someone with my powers one day? I would never be able to forgive myself for it.The best thing to do at the moment was to leave. I could leave with Amber if I wanted to, but I was being selfish, for the first time I wanted to be selfish and think about my own feelings too. I didn't want to leave my mates, I had found peace in this pack and I didn't want to leave and try to find my way around again. I didn't want to go back to square one.I found my mates, I found my family, my broth
ArthurI stood on the edge of the battlefield, surveying the aftermath of victory. The enemy had been defeated, their bodies scattered on the ground, while our troops were largely unscathed. For years, I had grown accustomed to such scenes, but this time, something felt different.I knew Elleen's power had played a crucial role in ensuring our early victory and preventing what seemed like inevitable casualties.I recalled the prophecy. "When the White Wolf returns, darkness shall devour the light, and only the sacrificed can save all." Was this the witch's curse upon the savior? She must have sensed that Elleen was a descendant of the White Wolf, so she placed a curse upon her. Forcing her to be consumed by the darkness! No, I must ensure no one discovers this! If Elleen's power is revealed, she will surely be hunted by all the wolf packs! No, I won't let Elleen get hurt again!"Let's go," I told her, taking her hand and leading her home. I needed to talk to her about this power, but
Eileen's POVI rushed back to the driver's side, Amber's hand clutched tightly in mine. "There's an emergency," I told the driver in an urgent tone "We need to head back to the park house immediately." The driver nodded without a word and quickly turned the car around, speeding back to the park house at a fast but safe pace. Amber looked up at me, her eyes wide with fear and she moved closer to me."Mommy, what's wrong?" she asked, her voice trembling. I knelt down beside her and kissed her forehead, trying to reassure her."Nothing's wrong, sweetie," I said. "I just need to take care of something, and I'll be fine. Ella will take care of you, and you need to be a good girl, okay?" Amber nodded, looking a bit more calm, but I could still see the fear in her eyes. I felt a little guilty knowing she was scared because of how I was acting. After we arrived at the park house, I quickly got out of the car and helped Amber out. I turned to Ella, her nanny, who was waiting for us at the entr
Last night, I didn't have dinner with Arthur, Brett, and the others. Alex didn't come back all night either. Everyone in the pack seemed to be acting normally, so I concluded there was no attack this time. The next day, Amber suddenly expressed a strong desire to go play in the city. I recalled what the psychologist said about Amber needing activities. We had been staying at the compound for a month, and our training had also come to an end for now. I had enough time, so I decided to fulfill her request. Then I planned to buy a gift for each of them as a reward for us.Both Alex and Arthur always made sure I had enough money with me so it wasn't a problem to spend today."Come on love, we're going to be late" I said to her chuckling and she turned to me with her eyes wide before nodded. She looked so excited it was extremely cute.We walked out of the house and walked towards a car that Arthur had given us. He also assigned a personal driver who was also a secretly trained body guard
Eileen's POVEver since Amber was almost taken away by the witches, I've been by her side at all times. Luckily, no strangers have appeared around her again, and she's been able to have short interactions with other pack members. Her behavior has shown significant improvement, but she still needs to see the doctor for a check-up.Today is the fixed day for the psychologist to examine Amber. I waited anxiously outside, and Alex smiled helplessly, "Your hurried pacing will make me dizzy."I couldn't help but feel anxious. Dr. Doria came out carrying Amber, who was holding a huge strawberry lollipop. Seeing us, she happily greeted us, and her condition really put me at ease."Amber's doing very well," Dr. Doria told me. "She has good alpha genes, but her trauma suppressed her true nature. The current environment makes her feel comfortable.""What else do we need to do?" Alex asked."Just spend more time being active with her. Alpha pups at four or five years old are at their most energet
Eileen's POVAfter listening to Brett's entire story, I felt my whole body turning red, shame filling my mind. I actually scolded the person who saved my child—even my own mate. I'm not a competent mother, nor a qualified mate. After explaining, Brett left to report the witches' movements to Arthur. I could sense his sadness, and it was all because of me. When I heard footsteps behind me, I turned and left."Eileen, Eileen wait! wait up" I heard Alex call but I ignored him, holding Amber tighter, I walked towards the packhouse. He ran after me, his footsteps pounding the pavement. Finally, he caught up to me, grabbing my arm and spinning me around. "Eileen, what's wrong?" he asked, his eyes scanning my face. I could see the concern in his eyes, the worry that something was terribly wrong.I shook my arm free. "What do you want, Alex?" I asked, my voice sharp.Alex took a deep breath, his eyes filled with regret. "I'm sorry, Eileen," he said, his voice low. "I'm sorry that I didn't pro
Brett povI finished the last competition. Luckily, this competition was right next to our neighboring pack. I told my manager that I would be retiring from competitions after this. The pack keeps getting attacked, and I can't let Arthur handle it alone, especially when I think about him having Elleen all to himself, I start feeling jealous. And Kyle too, he's deeply hurt by Elleen, he's quite inscrutable, I can't understand what his point of not being able to forgive Elleen is.I received a training video of Elleen on my phone, sent by Alex. This is what I asked for, I can't let Arthur be the only knight. I lay on the bed leaning against the car, staring at my phone, watching a particular video over and over again, as if hypnotized. One clip shows Elleen beating up a warrior from the pack. When I saw her take down the man who threatened to bully her, I felt extremely proud. He was lucky I wasn't there, or I would have ended his life at that moment, because he wanted to hurt my mate.
Eileen's POVOne week later! Training grounds."Wrong! Your punching stance is incorrect!" I walked among the training squad, pointing out their flaws one by one.Ever since I demonstrated my strength at the training grounds, and with Arthur's warning, I now received their respect. Finally, the morning training ended. "Dismissed!" I ordered, and the squad quickly dispersed."Coach, good work," they nodded and smiled as they left.I nodded back, preparing to go see Amber. I dragged my weary body through the front door, utterly exhausted from the day's training. My muscles ached, my mind numb. I just wanted to collapse on the bed and temporarily forget this world. After I had beaten one of their own and the strict warning from Arthur, they all respected me now and treated me much better. It was still tiring as I had to stand and watch them, correct them as well for hours. But I guessed it was fun to do.I decided to check on Amber before I went to bed. I saw the time and saw that she sh
