As soon as I get out of Morgana’s office, I slump to the floor, trying to catch my breath. She’s going to use me until I’m wrung dry and only then will she give me what I want. Will I even be able to carry Winnie’s baby by the time they’re done with me? No. This isn’t what I agreed to and I won’t go through with it. If I’ve learned anything about Morgana, it’s that she’s smart, but impulsive and vengeful. She’s going to take away some of my power, at least some of my power within the coven. So, she’s likely going to my magick and my power over Charlie. She’s going to reduce me to a common witch. Less than that, because I won’t have access to my powers. What do I do? Do I go back and help Charlie? If I can get the two of us out, along with Iris and the pup, I might be able to convince them to help me with carrying Winnie’s child. I would need to come up with a cover story. Something that would make them want to help me. Surely Liv and Leo would want to get revenge on t
Zak? Brandon? I don’t have much time, per usual, but…well, weird shit is happening. Charlie’s voice in the mindlink is urgent and full of suspicion. Brandon and I are instantly alert, sitting up in bed. Neither of us had been sleeping especially well since Charlie had been taken. Many of the mothers of our friends have been taking our twins in the hopes that we would sleep during the day, but that hadn’t been happening. Brandon and I were too keyed up and typically spent the time either training or pouring over maps, trying to find our mate. Since Celeste gave her information to Charlie about a day and a half ago, we hadn’t slept. We had literally pushed ourselves to the point of exhaustion and fallen asleep at the Alpha Council table. I really don’t know how we made it back to our cabin and our bed, but based on the time the alarm clock is showing, we’ve been asleep for about six hours. That means that we had missed another mindlink from Charlie somewhere in there, somethi
“Ok, based on Charlie’s feeding schedule, they’ll be going into her room around 11:00. I say that Charlie and Iris escape then,” Kare says. “Yeah, but you’re talking about not going in until 12:30, making sure that the Riding Hoods are completely busy with the Crone coven. What are they going to do until then? Hide in the house?” Zak says. “Zak, your mate is fully capable of getting out. I know that she isn’t at full strength, but I also know that she has a lot of other skills. She can hide herself, Iris, and the pup and get them out and into the street. She’ll mindlink you the whole way and you can tell her how to get to us. If not, she’ll find another place to hide. Even if they do find her, they won’t kill her. They need her right now. We’ve gotta use that against them,” Sandra says. “I’d feel a lot better about everything that you just said if any one of us could get in touch with Selene. I’m assuming that you guys couldn’t get Hecate to speak to you either,” Brand
In the 10 minutes of time that we had between Nissa going with one of the guards to get us food and her return, I told Iris the real plan. We would be breaking out at the feeding that was closest to 12:30. That was set for 11:00, but the guard doesn’t seem to be following as strict a time schedule as Nissa had been. It could be anytime between 11:00 and 11:30, the guard only coming in when she started to hear Summer squalling. That meant that I had to hurry up and shower while my breasts leaked because I was hearing Summer cry for milk. It was…unpleasant to say the least. The let-down reflex is no joke. We had figured out a way to trick this guard into allowing me to wear leggings. We told her that they had waited too long to spring me and I had wet myself. She had allowed Nissa to get a pair of her pants for me. The bonus there is that Nissa is taller than me, so her leggings folded around my ankles where the silver cuff sat. It provided even more protection for me. The w
I can feel someone trying to get in touch with me through the coin, but I don’t let them through. There’s too much to do as we prepare for the Crone coven to arrive. We all know what’s going to happen. They will all die. But we’ve gotta make sure that we put on a good enough show. And we’ve gotta prepare for the disposal. Luckily, we’re right next to the levy. Won’t be hard to get rid of the bodies. New Orleans is a wealth of Cajun, Voodoo, Southern, and Native American lore and creatures. So many things that go bump in the night and will be greatly appreciative of an offering. So appreciative that they may help us with dispatching these pesky mutts in Texas. They don’t need to know that we’re coming for them later. No. We’ll keep that as a surprise for when the Red One arrives here. I’m busily ordering acolytes and warriors around to set things up for the Crones, but also for the creatures that will come after for the cleanup. The rougarou. Madame Marie Delphine LaL
We arrive at the closed down restaurant at about 9:00. We actually have to set up phone calls between us and Texas. Mike, Seth, and Corinda give us updates every 30 minutes about who’s going in and out of the warehouse and any activity outside. There appear to be several entities that have come out of the canal. On the camera, it is obvious that they aren’t human, but the people around them don’t seem to be reacting. The witch, Daisy, that is with them says that the entities are using glamor. It works on the humans, but anyone looking through technology's lens (nice pun) will see the entity for what they truly look like.Apparently, what they are seeing is the stuff of nightmares. I have never heard Mike not have his signature snark. The fact that he sounds shook is what scares me the most. What the fuck is going on in this town? From what they are saying, these…beings…are circling the warehouse, coming close and walking back. A beast that they say looks eerily similar to a
THIS FUCKING STUPID COIN! We can’t get the damn thing to work! Nissa had warned us that the underground dungeon was a moving maze and that the coin would help you navigate through it. But we can’t figure out how to make it work. We’ve been down here for nearly an hour at this point, just wandering around and trying to avoid the Riding Hoods. That was a lot easier during the first 15 minutes. After that, I think that they discovered that we were missing and hiding was harder. It isn’t helping that the wolfsbane is still coursing through my system, making every step, every movement excruciatingly painful. At first, I tried to encase us in one of my forcefields, but it took too much energy. I had to stop and rest in an out-of-the-way room for about 10 minutes before I had the strength to start moving again. We were like sitting ducks the entire time. I couldn’t afford to do that again. We had to get out of here and fast. I’ve been mindlinking with Brandon and Zak throughou
Charlie can’t get the damn coin to work. Fucking hell! How are we supposed to guide her out if she can’t get to the main route? Brandon and I are in a near panic. She’s in worse shape now than if she had stayed in the cell. At least there, we would know where to find her and there wouldn’t be Riding Hoods around every corner that could hurt her. And with the ever changing layout of the warehouse, she could easily get lost down there and head directly into danger. The constant thought that the pup might wake up and start crying, giving away their location is eating me up inside. Or Iris going stock still and not being able to respond to Charlie. Or Charlie being too weak to fight off any witches that they might come across. I’m scared as hell and I can feel the panic that Brandon is radiating too. We’re trying to hide it from Charlie through the link, but I’m not sure how successful we are. Each turn that she seems to take her further from the route that she needs to get to.
