Wait, why is my heart racing? Is it adrenaline?

I ponder as Christopher opens the passenger door for me. His cologne surrounds me as I pass him and he slams the door shut before standing outside and…is he calling someone?

Christopher places his hand on the door as he leans to speak on the phone, keeping me locked inside.

Yes, adrenaline.

It has to be adrenaline that’s making my face flush.

I stare at his large frame one last time and whisper to myself, ‘Honey, he is as red as they come, don’t even think about it. You have a son.’

With that, my body cooled.

If I fall in love with the father of my child and it breaks me because he only thinks about Blair, who will take care of Henry?

“I’m already fucked up as it is.”

I mutter and lean back in my seat. It is only when the driver’s side swings open and Christopher enters that I realise he is done with his call.

“Urgh…I’m exhausted.”

I mutter to Christopher.

If he heard me, he made no attempt to answer my question.
