Chapter Seventy-Five: Fiancé

Lyle, noticing my discomfort from Victoria’s hands on my shoulders, grabs her wrist, earning pointed glares from her guards as they each reach for their weapons.

"Why are you touching me? You are Matteo's dog, aren't you? Know your place."

Victoria reprimands.

"I-"

"It's okay."

I say to Lyle, its better if she doesn't know Lyle belongs to me.

Lyle nods and removes his hand from Victoria.

"I don't know if he will change his mind..."

I say in an attempt to change the topic, but at my tone, her nails dig into my skin, causing me to wince.

"Trust me, okay? Just come to Matteo's, and let's go through with the plan, okay?"

I nod to her words.

"Okay, fine. Thanks, Victoria."

When I say this, her hand leaves my shoulders.

"Your phone?"

She asks with the same arrogance as Matteo.

"I- I lost it in the crash, and I haven't had the heart to get another one."

She clicks her tongue and hands me her card.

"Call me in an hour on that line. You need a phone; we need to keep in touch for this to work."

Ooh, Mateo be angry! And Victoria failed again. I love it when Olivia outsmarts them. I am starting to feel sympathetic toward Mateo though. But he still needs to redeem himself.
