Anna
All I wanted to do… was create.
I stared into the ocean hues in his eyes and stiffened as he pulled me into his arms, igniting sparks that only destined lovebirds could feel. My body subconsciously eased into his touch and my fingers found themselves drawing patterns against the softness of his shirt.
Far into the future, I could see the creation of our love birthed into something bigger than a current us could ever imagine.
He leaned into my face. My face was hot and I felt flustered but it all melted away as I felt the teasing tug of his teeth on my ear. A moan slipped past me as his warmth sent shivers down my spine.
"Haiden," I gasped, throwing my head back as a sensation I'd never felt before tugged through me.
He slowly removed his teeth from my ear and turned away from me. His arms slowly retracting from my crushable body. "Mate," he uttered into the reminisce reminder of the green array of trees that covered us. The pack's fluorescent guest house had been untouched for years but kept flourishing. Usually, Haiden came here to train, and I watched. His constant swing. Left, right. Heavenly majestic. All that twirl, making him encompass all that muscle of his greatness and flex all that strength, and beauty within him. I knew. I'd seen him since I was twelve.
I turned to him and wrapped my arms around his waist, still absolutely surreal that I was his mate and he was mine. I breathed in and out contently and deliberately traced my finger near the tug of his waistband making him clutch my hands tightly and twirl me around so I was facing him. I smiled, liking the reaction I'd ignited from him. It was just that I sensed this slight hesitation from him which I didn't like.
"Don't test me, mate," He grabbed me by the chin so I was only staring at him. "I've been waiting for you since I was eighteen, so if you're gonna tease me you better be ready for the consequence as I… won't hold back."
I swallowed as I sensed the sincerity emanating from his words.
He released my chin and gazed at me softly before speeding past me.
I felt the wind dance through my hair, but his wood-like scent was still there.
I turned, and there he was, showing me his back. I faced the ground and grew self-conscious as I watched my bare feet plunge onto the darker denser part of the soil.
"Talk to your parents, Anna. Soon I'll have you by my side as my Luna."
I gasped and lifted my head to thank him but he was already gone with the wind.
My lips curved up into a smile as I thought of his words.
"I'm going to be a Luna!" I excitedly whispered to myself before dilly-dallying past the routes I was familiar with to get home.
Haiden
I grabbed the footnote plastered on my desk to inform me of assigning new guards to watch the cemetery of our ancestors. I almost squashed the note but stopped. This was Luke's job. My Beta and most trusted person.
As if on cue, I sensed his presence behind the door.
I smiled, humming with delight as I heard his knock.
"Come in,"
There was something unhurried and daunting about his breath when he knocked, it was quite something.
"Luke, come here, you're just in time." I smoothened the note in my hand as I felt him behind me. I turned around to face him. "Here," I handed him the note and he took it without hesitation.
"My Alpha, I asked the message reach your desk. Recently, there are more scouting teams outside and there aren't enough squads under my orders. Without your order I—"
"—Do it, Luke." I interrupted him with a reassuring smile.
"Alpha," there was hesitation in his voice. I closed the distance between us and placed an arm over his shoulder. "That's right, Luke. I'm giving you permission to manage the squad teams under my right wing."
"But—"
"—No need to complain. I have my reasons." I led Luke out to the balcony and we both watched our Blue Thunder beneath our feet. On nearer inches of our lands, children were playing and hovering over a woman as pleasant as a goddess. She danced in sync with the direction of the wind and the kids joined her in playful curiosity.
I could sense Luke's gaze burning through me and I knew the question he wanted to ask.
"Do you know why I've brought you here, Luke?"
"No? Alpha," I heard the cautious curiosity in his tone but I could not blame him. This was the first time I'd ever brought him here without a forewarning.
"Relax, Luke. It's good news."
"I'm getting curious, Alpha. Please share this great news with me. If you're this thrilled, then I'd be over the moon. You know how much I like to celebrate your victories, My Alpha."
"Her." I pointed to the woman in the white dress who wouldn't stop giggling with the children. "She's mine," I couldn't believe the smile that crossed my cheek after I said that.
I was mature, or so, I liked to think, because I was slightly older and have been through some tough challenges but none of that could stop the boyish grin that graced my lips after I looked at the woman the moon goddess had bonded me to.
I'd waited years for her to grow and mature and she'd only grown progressively more beautiful than I could imagine, into a full-fledged goddess of beauty.
"You've found your mate, Alpha?" As expected, there's shock In Luke's voice. I smirked, I'd hidden our connection before she found out and Luke didn't even notice? Interesting.
"Why? Were you interested in her before, Luke?"
"No, of course not, My Alpha. It's just you've paid keen attention to her as a brother would! I just never thought she would turn out to be your mate."
I smiled, "Nothing ever passes your eyes, Luke."
A moment passed before I asked seriously, "What do you think of her being your Luna?"
I heard a pause in his breath and I looked at him seriously. "What's wrong, Luke?"
Luke immediately bowed his head in front of me, "My Alpha, it's nothing serious."
"If it's nothing serious then you should tell me!" I did not refrain from using my authoritative voice on him.
Luke instantly fell on one knee, "My Alpha, please forgive me but I dare not make any remarks without solid basis. Please let me probe into my suspicion and give you a decent answer soon."
I turned my back to Luke and faced over the fence, my gaze towering over the hundreds of squad members that were being instructed to locations within the pack. As they regrouped to move separately, I saw one of them jog to Anna and that riled me up, I admit. But the steel handle by the balcony squeezed up as I saw Anna smile back at the man. I could not watch anymore, so I turned away.
"Luke, have Anna sent over here. I'll just keep her with me until I'm convinced she'll make a good Luna."
"Yes, My Alpha."
With that, I walked away.
Anna's pov"Miss Anna?" I heard a reprimanding voice interrupt my conversation with the squad member that was also a close friend of my parents."Beta," he responded with quivering lips and a bowed neck."Is this what you're supposed to be doing, Piercy?""N-no, Beta I—""—You're dismissed, get going." He hissed in a powerful tone causing Piercy to turn away from me without a final glance.I sighed, wondering why the Beta was harsh for no reason. I'd always gotten bad vibes from him but as long as we kept a cordial distance from each other like we usually do, I would not mind it. But still, he was my mate's best subordinate, I had to get on with him."Beta," I said, and was about to leave when he said, "Stop,"I sighed and did as he asked. He then walked over in front of me, as though judging me, but I was totally unhinged by this and simply blinked. "What are you doing?""The Alpha has asked you to make preparations to move into the pack house."My eyes instantly brightened, "So what
Luke's Pov"...between me and him, who would you choose?" I heard the vile women ask the Alpha. And even though I told myself that the question was unimportant and I didn't need it to judge my closeness with the Alpha based on that, I folded when I heard his answer."You, of course."I walked away, leaving the lovestruck mates to their intimate moment. I didn't know why but I felt as though my world was crashing around me and I was losing all sense of control. Was it because of Alpha's answer?I clenched my fists tightly and stared straight ahead.Even though I wouldn't admit it out loud, I was threatened by Anna's existence in the heart of my Alpha. However, it wouldn't last for long. I had to do something about it. Thankfully, there was a gap in my Alpha's heart which made him unable to trust fully and I was going to use that to my advantage.Four days later***My plan was going right as orchestrated. At dawn, Anna's parents were holding two pots of wine in hand and sent them to the
Haiden's pov"My Alpha, the Gammas had this sent to you."My future in-laws did?"Pour me a cup immediately," I told the omega and he instantly went to grab the cup on the comforter. Then he opened the wine pot and I was hit with the refreshing smell of the wine.I felt a bit anxious. I hadn't officially introduced myself to Anna's parents. I just had her live here without consultation from the elders. That wasn't right. I had to go and pay them a proper visit later tonight. The omega filled the cup with wine and I let the smell linger in my nose for a bit before grabbing the handle of the cup.My ears twitched, picking up on the speed I heard in the hallway. But then, I heard my Beta's panicked thoughts through the pack's mind link."DON'T DRINK THE WINE, ALPHA!"I immediately let go of the cup's handle."Is anything the matter, Alpha?" The omega asked, "The elders made this, especially for you.""Why shouldn't I drink the wine, Luke?"The door busted open with Luke in his wolf form,
"Poisoned?" Anna's mother dropped the cup in her hand causing me to smirk. "Yes." I answered, forcing an expressionless face as I walked to Anna's father, Stefan. Our once upon a time, formidable warrior and Gamma. I snaked an arm around his shoulder and whispered, "What about you and your wife die for your daughter's chance to live?" The moment I said that, I sensed an attack from Stephanie, Stefan's wife. I swiftly turned around, avoiding her kick before it landed. Stephanie's upper body was weak compared to her husband but she had legs that could leave a person paralyzed for months. I did not want that. "You backstab! This was your plan, wasn't it?" Stephanie yelled, "You took advantage of our delivering wine to the past Alpha and his son, and poisoned it! And now you're going to use that to drive our daughter away from her mate? How is she supposed to live, tell me!" "Exactly. Anna is still so young. She's dead if you two die, but she's worse than dead without her mate." From
I didn't know how long we kept running untill we arrived at a darker, denser area. The air was thick, compared to the smooth and calming fresh air back at Blue Thunder.I looked at my parents and they urged me to stay still in my wolf form to be more comfortable. I moved to my parents and they cuddled me with their bigger, warm woven body. They mind-linked me, assuring me that I would be okay, but that wasn't what I cared about in the moment. I asked them the question I truly wanted to hear since Haiden came to me and told me the ugly story."Mom, dad, did you really kill the past Alpha and posioned Haiden's wine?"After a moment of hesitation, they both said in sync. "Yes, we did."My eyes widened at their words and I immediately pulled away from their woven body and angrily turned to face them. But I couldn't bring myself to be angry at them. Their minds were saying one thing, but their eyes were saying another.I shook my head at them, "No I don't believe you! That must be a lie! Y
Luke's PovShe passed out after I beheaded her parents and this made me feel a sense of sovereignty. I'd been unable to establish my dominance in her mind but after this, I was certain the rule of the stick would change. She would fear me and stay in her place, wherever that was for her.The bush by the side ruffled and I smelt it instantly. The disgusting scent of rot and famine.I stared at the headless bodies that laid on the ground and a malicious thought flashed through my mind.I intentionally reduced the intimidating aura emitting from me and said, "I know you're watching, come out now."I sensed the hesitation but then, I heard him step forward and soon, he was in front of me. His big brown woven body looked deprived of clean water and his fur was thick and rusty. But what made him stand out was his unnaturally yellow eyes. "You're hungry, right?" I lurched my neck to the side and watched the rogue's ear and canines sharpen. I knew he was contemplating attacking me, and his e
I woke up with headache, but when I looked around me, I realized that I was out of the woods. Memories of my parents rolling their heads on the floor jerked me into a downward spiral of unhappy emotions. The door opened and the older woman that stepped in, I recognized."Anna, you're up.""Healer Susan," The wet cloth I didn't realize was on my forehead dropped to my lap which made me raise a brow.It seemed that I was back in Blue Thunder. I assumed Luke brought me here because he was the last person I saw before I passed out.Now that I was here, I felt a bit awkward because I knew what it costed for me to be brought back here. I hated it. I really hated it. If only I was stronger."Anna," The space in front of me dipped down and I instantly knew Susan was sitting in front of me. "Dear child…" she sighed.I looked up at her and let my tears fall. I grabbed her right hand and said, "You believe me and my parents, don't you? We'll never poison the Alpha's father, especially not Haiden
Anna's Pov."The jewelry fits yours perfectly," Daya said immediately as she wore it for me. It was a necklace with a diamond stone.Since the dress I was putting on wax off-shoulder, the jewelry was obvious and beautiful. My mind went to my parents, I'm very sure they must be watching me wherever they are, will they be disappointed in me for getting married to the one who killed them? Or will they be happy with me because I am finally going to be a Luna?I never knew they were not going to make it to this day, I can't even take revenge for them anymore because I am marked to my mate already.I need to find the person who caused all of this and prove to the whole Kingdom that my parents are not a murderer. I need to do that and I can now do that with the power that I am having."Ma, they must be waiting already. Let's go." Daya interrupted my thoughts as I nodded and we both left the room while she followed me behind my back. The omegas we met in the corridor kept on bowing their head
