Aiden

A touch on the back greeted me.

"Are you all, right?" As he approached my side, Matt remarked.

I reassured my pal, "I'll be alright."

I tried to breathe normally while closing my eyes. Those two had a habit of infuriating me.

"Apart from his physicians, nurse, and bodyguards, I don't want any visits for Grandpa. No one should be permitted to enter his room. Those two, in particular." I murmured, nodding at Fiona and Will as they walked away.

"Done! Do you want to stay the night?" Matt inquired.

I gave a nod.

"I'll arrange for an extra bed for you. Please contact Wendy if you require any other assistance. She works as a nurse. She's also not your type." He joked.

I smiled back at him. ++"Even if she was my type, that's the last thing on my mind. Thank you so much for everything. I appreciate it."

"It'll be OK. I still have some rounds to make and reports to write. If you require any additional assistance, please contact me."

He walked away after giving me an extra pat on the shoulders.

Fiona and William continued to reside in the family mansion for a variety of reasons. My father had written a will a few months before his death, specifying that Fiona and Will be cared for and permitted to remain on the Reiner estate. As long as Fiona continues to be his widow and bear his surname, she was to stay at the family mansion.

Will and I had also received a portion of my father's fortune and company shares. I received 70% of his portion, with the remaining 30% went to Fiona and Will on the condition that I do not push out my half-brother. Even if I hadn't gotten the 70 percent, I wouldn't have done it. Regardless of how unruly he was. He remained my half-brother.

Of course, being in the same house disgusted me. As a result, I remodelled the mansion and built a separate wing for myself. I spent my time at my penthouse on most weekdays. Grandpa, on the other hand, was adamant about staying in the main mansion because it was where he had spent his whole life and would not relocate because of those two 'freaks.' As a result, he was surrounded by bodyguards and security. I didn't have faith in those freaks either.

Fiona and Will resumed their obscene behaviour right in front of Grandpa's eyes.

My father's 30 percent stake in the company, plus the company's stock, could easily support them if they lived modestly. Will, however, was squandering his fortune on gambling, drugs, and prostitutes. Fiona had asked grandpa's help on more than two occasions when Will had been apprehended by the cops. Shutting up the media was another headache.

After ensuring Grandpa's safety and comfort. I removed my jacket and sat down on the bed. My mind strayed involuntarily to the mysterious woman I had seen on the streets.

She had become ingrained in my mind. I'd circled that area several times in the hopes of catching a glimpse of her. I'd even parked my car nearby and waited for her to arrive.

I'd spent so much time wandering around that area and crossing the same crossing as her that I could have done it in my sleep. That was, after all, my usual route.

It was completely ridiculous. I had no idea why I was acting in this manner. What did I hope to accomplish? Bed her? There was no shortage of willing women for me. What good would it do me if I could just get her into my bed? A sense of accomplishment? Wasn't my life already difficult enough? It was most likely due to my workload, which was now catching up with me. Yeah, that’s what it was. I concluded.

The sound of rustling jolted me awake. Grandpa was struggling to get out of bed as I opened my eyes. I threw off my comforter and dashed over to his bed.

"Grandpa, what are you doing?" I said this while grasping his arm.

"Now a man can't even use the restroom without being harassed." The old man, complained.

"Yes, you certainly can. Let me dial the nurse's number." I murmured and pressed the red button besides his bed.

"I don't require the services of a nurse; I am perfectly healthy. I'm not in need of a hospital......"

"Are you trying to flee again, Mr Rainer?" A woman's voice rang forth. A woman dressed in a neat nurse's scrubs entered the room. Her dark hair was pulled back by a blue headband that matched her scrubs. She appeared to be in her 40s and had a pleasant smile.

"Mr. Reiner, how are you? I'm Wendy, and I'll be looking after Mr Rainer, the senior." With a pleasant grin, she addressed me.

"Thank you for your assistance, Wendy. Please address me as Aiden. Grandpa has to go to the bathroom." I stated.

She gave a kind smile.

"No, he doesn't; he has a catheter attached to his body to meet his needs. Mr Rainer, do you want to go for a walk?"

As though she were speaking to a child, she addressed Grandpa. I couldn't keep a smile from appearing on my face.

"I do, and now get this ruddy thing off!" he said gruffly.

I had to intervene to prevent him from removing his drip.

"Grandpa, you must pay attention to this lovely lady. She has come to look after you." I tried to persuade him.

"Thank you so much, I can take care of myself. I'm in great shape l. Now, hurry up and get me home before those jerks wreck everything." He mumbled.

"How about you have your medicine and breakfast, Mr Rainer, and then we'll go for a walk around campus." Wendy offered to help.

My grandfather appeared to relax and contemplate her comments. Wendy's ability to comfort him was impressive, and he eventually seemed satisfied enough to take his medicine and breakfast. I even pushed him in a wheelchair.

I finally left the hospital in the late afternoon. I'd previously dressed up in a white shirt and suit. Thanks to my secretary for sending a few additional outfits. I intended to go straight to my office.

As I was about to depart, Grandpa remarked, "Remember what we talked about Aiden."

"What did we talk about?" I asked, while putting on my jacket.

"Get married and give me an heir."

I sighed exasperatedly.

"Sure, grandfather," I said as I walked away.

I was still sleepy and hadn't gotten enough sleep. So, I went to the local Starbucks to buy some coffee. It would most likely clear my head. I went to the coffee shop and was about to walk in when I noticed a flash of yellow right in front of me. I went completely still. She was right there. I forgot to take a breath and gave her another hard, hungry glance. She was just as stunning as I remembered. Her outfit consisted of a soft yellow blouse and black jeans. She was holding a cup of coffee and rummaging through her bag for something. As she approached me, I locked my gaze on her. Despite the fact that I was well aware that I should have moved. I let her collide with me. Her coffee spilt all over my white shirt as it slipped from her grip. As I stared at her, I scarcely felt the heat. She had come so close.

"I'm really sorry," she apologised. Her voice was warm and husky. My ears began to become red as blood rushed to my brain. She was stunningly attractive. She came to a halt when she gazed up at me. My gaze was drawn to her gorgeous green eyes. In those emerald depths, there was a terrible emptiness. I wanted to learn more about them. The feelings were exposed, and it rocked me to my core.

"I'm sorry, I didn't see," she apologised once more.

I whispered, "I finally found you."

She gave me a perplexed look.

Aiden "Wait, what?" she inquired. She shook her head, noticing my deplorable condition, and said, "Please accept my apologies. Are you all, right?" She seemed to be truly concerned. I grumbled, "You damaged my favourite shirt." Her smile became shaky. "You were blocking my path. I didn't intend to run into you." She stubbornly crossed her arms over her breasts and glared at me. Feisty. I loved feisty. "I said sorry," she said. I blocked her again as she made a move. I told her, "Sorry, it isn't enough." Her lips were stunning. Just a whiff of those cherry lips was enough to drive a man insane. I said, "It's not fair, I lost a shirt, and you lost your coffee." "So, you'd like me to go out and purchase you a shirt?" Her gorgeous eyes enlarged as she was taken aback. "No, I'll buy you a cup of coffee." I made an offer. She locked her gaze on me for another minute before tilting her head to one side, revealing her neck to me. I wanted to kiss it. "I'm OK; I don't want any coffee

  • Trapped   Chapter 8 - Making a plan

Sydney - My hand was still in pain. I'd slapped the jerk in the face with all my power. I kept running till I arrived at the art school and slumped on a bench. What was the matter with me? And what was the matter with him? Even if I tried to ignore it, the man was a walking dreamboat. He was much taller than my 5'8" height. Probably 6”4. His stunning appearance, tanned skin, and dark hair were enough to make any sensible woman want to hurl herself at him. However, if only he had not been such a jerk. He was unlike any other man. At the thought of that lengthy drawn-out kiss, a flush crept up my cheeks. The way his lips brushed against me. I could still detect his scent. I felt a tremble run up and down my spine just thinking about it. I said to myself, 'No.' 'Why am I thinking this way?' I shouldn't be doing this. He kissed me without my permission. Instead of thinking about those deep blue eyes and muscled arms, I should be pressing charges. He had not followed me; I was sure of t

  • Trapped   Chapter 9 - The interview

Sydney- Mike wished me luck for my interview as he dropped me off near Reiner towers. "Thank you," I said, my gaze fixed on the enormous structure. "Don't be worried; you'll do fine." Mike patted the top of my head. The Reiner tower resembled the standard metal and glass high-rise tower. I crossed the road and entered a huge foyer. It was crowded with people coming and going. The brown granite floor reflected them like a mirror. I approached the reception desk, where a nicely dressed woman handed me a visitor permit and directed me to the 30th floor. I took the elevator to the 30th floor. It opened into a stylishly decorated foyer with a plush green carpet that gave it a grassy impression and an entire glass wall on the right side. I could see the entire city's skyline. "How may I assist you?" My reverie was broken when a lady at the smaller reception asked. I replied, "I'm here for the interview, for the intern positions." "Please provide me with your name and photo ID. Mr. Ra

"Come on, Sydney, open the door!" For the past half-hour, Leah had been beating on her door. Sydney screamed from inside her room, "I don't want to talk Leah, just leave me alone!" Her eyes were red and puffy when she returned. She had obviously been crying. She then locked herself in her room and refused to eat her meal. Leah had given her a couple of hours' time alone, but she was suddenly concerned. "This is it, I'm calling Mike," Leah declared emphatically before dialling Mike's number. He was on his way downstairs in no time. **************** Sydney ************* Mike's calming voice asked me to open the door when I heard a knock. "Leave me alone," I yelled back. "I'd leave, but who would prepare the dinner? You know Leah is a terrible chef, and I'm starving." Mike yelled out loud. "Hey! I'm not a terrible cook!" Leah shut him down. "Oh, no! Yes, you are; you can't even make good mac & cheese." He retorted with a snide remark. I couldn't keep a smile from appearing on m

"Would you like to dance, Miss Rosbak?" Aiden inquired, oblivious to the girl standing next to her. Her expression was priceless, and she was breathtakingly lovely up close. Her clothing matched her green eyes. It's all the more tempting because of that. Her dress, which appeared modest from the front, but it didn't have a back and ended in a deep V at her waist. Her soft, gorgeous skin was on show, beckoning him to touch it. Why is God so cruel? He sighed. He had put his hand on her delicate waist and steered her to the dance floor before she could say anything. Her eyes had narrowed into slits by this time, and she was furious. She gave him a panicked expression. He chuckled to himself, 'Still feisty.' "What are you doing here?" She asked. "I have the same question, but to be honest, I don't give a damn. Isn't it wonderful to see each other again?" He grinned. She froze and frowned at him the instant he smiled down at her. "Are you stalking me?" she inquired. "Stop thinking so

Sydney I was still smiling as I moved towards the bar. A hand stopped me, and I whipped around to face Mike. "Gosh, you scared me!" I spoke. He inquired, "Where were you?" I explained, "I was just out for some fresh air." "What happened earlier? That man. You know who he was?" Mike asked. I nodded, "Aiden Rainer, the CEO of the Reiner group." "How do you know him?" "He took my interview, and I refused the offer," I sighed. Mike's eyes swelled to the size of saucers. "Why?" "Because he is an arrogant man who believes he can have any damn woman because of his looks and his absurd bank balance. He has a lot of delusions about himself. He believes he is charming and that ladies will fall at his feet begging him to take them, but he is mistaken. The only ladies he can ever hope to attract are those feather-headed, goose-brained, clingy knuckleheads. I don't want to see him again because he is a shallow man." "Ah, I see." "Thank God, you see," I murmured, and then it dawned on me

  • Trapped   Chapter 13 - First day at work

Sydney To spend time on Monday morning, I awoke early and worked on some of my projects. My internship, which I would be undertaking at the Reiners, was my last semester of art school. Except for submitting my report, I didn't need to return to school. On the other side of the flat, I heard Leah's door open. "Coffee?" I inquired happily as I peered out of my room. Leah pouted and rubbed her eyes sleepily. She despised getting out of bed in the morning. She offered a half-hearted nod and walked inside the bathroom. I grinned and began preparing breakfast for the two of us. Leah reappeared half an hour later, happily sniffing the warm aroma of fried bacon and coffee. "You really do seem cheery," she commented as she sat down at the dining table. "Smells fantastic." "It's the beginning of a new life, so of course I'm glad and joyful," I said with a smile. "Sure," Leah responded, a mysterious smile on her face. I made a funny face at her and returned to my coffee. "Mike isn't going

With a thunderous bang, he shut the door and turned to face her. She was sprawled on a massive king-sized bed, staring at him down from across the room. Her eyes were ablaze with terror and rage. When he saw her spread out on the bed, his heart raced. Without saying anything, her eyes told him everything he needed to know. The terrified, apprehensive girl trembled as she imagined what was to come, yet her arrogance remained engraved on her face. In a raspy voice, she snarled, "Stay away from me." It was dripping in venom. How could someone be so dangerous while also being so vulnerable? Her pearly flawless skin drew his gaze. Her noble Grecian nose was held high even as she lay like a victim, her silken tresses, the dreamy almond eyes that gazed at him. As she struggled to move, her neck arched. Instead, it highlighted the seductive small mole on her olive-toned skin. Her muscular legs wrenched away from him. It was almost as if she were the predator and he were the prey. He walked

As his wife pursued their little daughter, Aiden smiled. Squealing, the toddler hid under the table. "Aiden, please handle your daughter!" Sydney cried as she collapsed on the couch. "She's not listening to me." Aiden smiled and knelt down, pleading with the small girl to leave the table. The youngster burst out laughing and hugging her father. Aiden kissed the adorable bundle, and his daughter was still almost instantly. With huge green eyes and a grin, she glanced up at her father. "I don't understand how you do that every time," Sydney mumbled, crossly looking at her happily gurgling daughter. "Angela never listens to me. She is so different from Ethan." "Not like her brother," Aiden said, pointing to Angela's twin, who was playing on the mat and holding his blanket. Ethan had always been a quiet child. Unlike his sister, he was not a troublemaker. Sydney grinned and held her hands out for her daughter. She wanted a cuddle. Aiden handed her over, then hugged both Sydney and Ang

Sydney quickly recovered over the next two weeks. Her gunshot wound had mostly healed, and she was ready to return home. She just couldn't decide which house to go to. She didn't know what would happen between Aiden and her. They hadn't discussed it until now. Aiden had been preoccupied with the situation. It was difficult to keep four bodies hidden from the media, one of them being Marilyn. It was all over the news the next day. Aiden's opponents had learned of the event and were quick to investigate. Reiners manipulated the media as usual, and the truth about his late father was once again hidden. Mrs Reiner's kidnapping was attributed to William and Marilyn as the masterminds. Marilyn was the dumped girlfriend, and William was the enraged second son, who banded together for vengeance. They bribed Eric, Mike, and Rob with promises of money and movie roles to carry out their orders. That's how the story was presented to the public. Fiona, on the other hand, was too distraught to he

    - Aiden I couldn't remember how long I'd been sitting in the waiting room; my vision was blurry, and I hadn't eaten in at least 12 hours. "Here," Leah said, handing me a styrofoam cup full of hot coffee. "Thank you," I said graciously. She took a seat next to me and seemed to have a question for me. I moved my gaze hither. "I am sorry for what Mike did, had I known he was involved with....all this. I am sorry." She apologized. "It's not your fault, it's all because of my dad." I looked down at the brown liquid. "I will try my best to get Mike out," I said, assuring her. "That isn't necessary; Mike must pay for his crimes. Just look after Sydney." She stated it with a faint smile. When the operating room door opened, I dashed over to Dr. Matt. "We've done everything we can, but she's fallen into a coma. It's now entirely up to her to get up whenever she wants." Matt stated solemnly. "NO! You assured her that everything would be fine! I want my wife back!" I yelled. "Calm down

Detective Conan made his way through the dense undergrowth to the warehouse. He walked around the building, looking for a weak area through which he could enter unobserved. He discovered the fire escape that led to the second floor. The iron stairs were rusted and old, but they would last a while. He climbed the stairs slowly and silently. When he got to the top floor, he tried to unlock the door but realised it wasn't locked. He crept inside quietly, making sure the door didn't squeak. From below, he could hear muffled voices. To gaze down, he moved closer to the landing. The stairs directly in front of him would lead him down into the kidnappers' full view. He couldn't risk it, so he crouched in the shadows and waited at the viewpoint. Down below, there were eight people: four men and four women. Two of them appeared to be lifeless. He observed the tied women and two men holding the gun at Aiden. Although he couldn't see the woman's face, who was without a gun, he noticed she was

Who the fuck is Javier?" William asked. "Damn you Aiden! I wish you weren't so smart. Now you've spoiled my fun," Eric cribbed, still laughing. "Fun? You call this fun ?" I pointed to the lifeless bodies of Rob and Marilyn. "Aiden, there are main characters, antagonists, and extras in a play. Usually, the extras perish. They were only there as extras." As if this was a drama for him, he explained. "So this is play for you? You are a psychopath, Javier!" I said through clenched teeth. "Woah! Hold on! Why do you keep referring to him as Javier?" William inquired again, his face annoyed. Fiona looked at Eric as if he had grown horns. She was visibly trembling. "No! It's not possible, "she exclaimed, covering her mouth. "Surprised? Are you? I suppose you recall your husband's actions." Eric smil

    - Aiden Mike was bundled off by the police. The detective lingered and fixed his gaze on me. "I'm Detective Conan, and the chief contacted me about your missing wife. How many hours has she been missing?" He inquired idly. "I assume she has been kidnapped for around six hours. There hasn't been a demand for ransom yet, but I expect one soon "I said. "So, Mr Reiner, how may I assist you?" The detective was curious. I said, lifting an eyebrow at him, "Of course, help me find my wife." "I heard the suspect, your wife has only been missing for.... like six hours. And she left home willingly. It's still too early to…" I cut him off before he could finish. "I get it, but this is different; I'm sure she's in great danger." My rage was growing once more. "We are doing all we can, Mr Reiner, but there are certain procedures and protocols which have to be followed," the detective explained. "I believe I made it clear to the Commissioner that I needed someone I could trust, someone who

He no longer needed his complex plot to eliminate the Reiners. "So, what are your plans for her? Can I try her out first?" William inquired, his face beaming. Eric gave a withering look at William. 'What an Idiot! Soon he and his entire family would be rotting in hell! And all he cares for is getting laid.' Eric thought with great satisfaction. He gave William a cunning smile. "First, let us wake up our little whore." "Eric, this...this whole thing is getting out of hand! You... you never said there would be innocent lives involved!" Marilyn stammered, wringing her hands nervously. If only she knew that Eric was a psychopath who would be killing off so many people, she would never have agreed to join his mad plan. All she wanted was Aidan. "Marilyn, you agreed to join us, don't you want Aiden? You're not backing out now,

Aiden Sydney had been missing for hours. I went to her old apartment, checked at Mike's place and both flats were unoccupied. Though her car was parked near the building. Did she run away with him? NO! My heart refused to believe that. My phone ran again and this time it was Michael – "We caught him, Mr Reiner," he said, "the suspect on that tape we caught." "Mike?" I inquired. "You won't believe what he was trying to do. He was attempting to blow up our weapons storage facility! We discovered him trying to enter with forged credentials. He is adamant on speaking with you. What are your recommendations? Should we contact the authorities?" "No! Sydney Neither Leah nor Mike answered the phone when I called. It wasn't surprising; it was still early, and they'd most likely be sleeping. I was slightly out of breath by the time I got to Leah's floor. Fortunately, I still retained my old flat's extra key. I opened the door and went inside. Switching on the light, I checked Leah's bedroom. It was empty, the whole flat was empty. It wasn't that big, to miss any corner. Perhaps Leah stayed the night with her new boyfriend. She was smitten with one of her classmates. I decided to look around Mike's place. I approached his door and was ready to knock when it opened and Mike strolled out. He was dressed strangely in a jumpsuit that appeared to be some kind of uniform. It dawned on me that he was also wearing a lot of makeup. He looked just like the dude in the video! "Mike!" I exclaimed, my gaze fixed on him. Mike took a quick look around before dragging me inside and closing the door. I was too startled to feel anything, so I said,
