Paige flinched at Alex's shout. She realized her mistake and chose not to make a scene. She turned to Alex and said, "You brought a guest, Alex. Let's talk later tonight and host your guest first."

Alex replied, "Don't worry about him. He can handle himself."

"I'm concerned about my reputation. You scolded me in front of your friend as if I'm your child," Paige muttered.

Lucas stepped forward, saying, "Alex, don't argue with your girlfriend. It's just a popsicle."

"Shut up! Are you going to take responsibility if the baby gets sick from the cold?" Alex retorted, rendering Lucas speechless.

Putting down the trash bin, Alex went into the kitchen to get Paige some warm water. He turned to Lucas and said, "Come in and have a seat. It's a small place."

Lucas didn't mind and sat next to Paige on the sofa.

"Is this the house you bought for your girlfriend?" he asked.

Paige corrected him, "No, we're renting this place."

Lucas raised an eyebrow. "Alex, why not get a place for both of y
