chapter 6

In a day of traveling, changing buses three times, Julia and her friend Tina finally arrived at the small town they were heading to.

The town was not as big as their hometown, but even though it was small, the atmosphere in the town felt peaceful.

Julia had cashed all the checks given by that merciless man, neatly storing them in a bag.

She would use that money for their life in the small town and to buy a house on the outskirts of the city.

Julia would start her new life in the town with Tina, opening a small business to ensure their finances wouldn't run out quickly.

As it was already night, they would stay temporarily in an inn for the night.

The air in the town felt cool, and the traffic wasn't as congested as in their hometown.

After finding accommodation, they rested comfortably.

Meanwhile, in their big city hometown, in a luxurious mansion, a man got out of his car carrying a plastic bag.

"It's late, you're just coming home now, Lucas!" a middle-aged woman, still looking beautiful, said while sitting on the sofa in the living room, apparently waiting for the man named Lucas.

"There's a lot of work at the office I had to finish, Ma!" Lucas replied as he continued inside, then headed upstairs carrying the plastic bag.

Lucas opened his room door, then closed it again.

He placed the plastic bag he was carrying on the sofa table in his room.

He looked briefly at the plastic bag containing the bedsheet stained with Julia's hymen blood.

His eyes gazed at the plastic bag with an expression that was difficult to interpret, something was bothering him, making his feelings uneasy.

Lucas grabbed the plastic bag and took it into the walk-in closet.

He opened the safe in the corner of the walk-in closet.

Lucas entered the code to unlock the safe, then placed the plastic bag containing the bedsheet stained with Julia's hymen blood inside.

Lucas didn't know why, but he didn't want to dispose of or wash the bedsheet.

He wanted to keep the bedsheet as a keepsake, feeling remorse for hurting a girl he didn't know.

Lucas kept it as a memento, remembering that he had his first intimate encounter with a girl who was still a virgin.

As he closed the safe, Lucas pondered for a moment, looking at the numbers on the safe's lock.

His hands moved to change the safe password.

After changing the password of the safe, the man hurried out of the walk-in closet and entered the bathroom.

He removed his clothes one by one, tossing them carelessly into the laundry basket.

After that, Lucas cleaned himself up.

Not long after, he emerged from the bathroom, and after dressing neatly, Lucas then left the room.

With calm steps, his long legs descended the stairs to the lower floor, and he walked towards the dining room.

In the dining room, his parents and his younger sister were already waiting.

"Bi, dinner is ready!" Mrs. Lucas said to a woman around fifty years old, standing not far from the door leading to the kitchen.

"Alright, Ma!" the woman nodded.

Shortly after, two female servants entered the dining room carrying dinner, carefully placing it on the dining table.

"How about considering getting to know that woman? Tomorrow afternoon, Mama will arrange a meeting for you!" Mrs. Lucas looked at her son.

"Ma, I'm not ready to get married!" Lucas replied firmly.

"Lucas, you can't be like this, you're not young anymore, your father is unwell...and I'm getting older too, we want to carry our grandchild, we don't want to pass away without seeing you married!" Mrs. Lucas replied angrily.

"Just have Adelia get married first!" Lucas replied nonchalantly.

Lucas's younger sister, Adelia, glanced at her brother with wide eyes, while Lucas shrugged carelessly.

"Lucas!" Lisbeth, Mrs. Lucas, shouted in frustration.

Her son was indeed difficult when urged to get to know a woman and approach her to be his girlfriend.

Lucas remained indifferent to his mother's outburst, disregarding her continuous nagging for him to find a girlfriend.
