VIOLETTE.
"Once upon a time, humans and lycans were not the only ones who dominated the earth. There were vampires and witches. The earth was constantly in turmoil since each of them wanted to dominate the land. Humans, as the weak without a superpower, fall behind. Thousands died in battle but survived until today while vampires and witches ceased from history." I told the story to five children I had been teaching for over a month. They usually paid more attention to me when I didn't ask them to read. One of the children with auburn hair—Roman, if I remember his name correctly, raised his hand and interrupted me. "Ms. Dalley, I have a question. If we are weak, then how did we manage to live?"I smiled at his innocent question. "Because a human is a scary creature. They might be weak physically, but their mind is stronger than the rest. Humans knew they were weak, so they used their heads to battle. That's what differentiates them from the rest of the other species.""The point is?" He interrupted me again. I know he had been eager to learn about how his ancestor won in the end. So, I wasted no more time and gave him the answer. "Humans colluded with each of them; then they abandoned the one who would likely lose. That was how simple their strategy was, but it worked like magic. So now there are only humans and lycans walking on this world." "Now, this makes me proud to be human," Roman shouted, and I could only chuckle. He then placed his hand on the left side of his chest and bowed slightly as if he was thanking his mighty ancestor. The rest of the children also followed along. What I told them was just a half-truth most people had known for a long time. Not all witches were gone. In fact, my father survived the madness of war, which resulted in me entering this world. I, Violette Daley, have witch blood flowing in my veins. I noticed the wetness at the top of my blonde hair, making me look up to see the beauty of the sky alongside the snow. I inhaled the fresh air, filling my lungs. Then I heard the sound of the children laughing, which added to the beauty of the moment. The kids had stopped caring about me after they noticed snow graced its presence. They ran around, throwing snowballs at each other. Looking at their carefree action makes me miss my childhood days. Although my childhood wasn't one filled with beautiful memories, it was still memorable enough to remember for the rest of my life. Suddenly, one of the kids threw the snowball in my direction, and before I could dodge it, it landed straight on my face."So cold." They laughed when I complained, but I wasn't mad at all. I rubbed my face swiftly, letting the kids play. Then, squatting down, I gathered enough snow on my palm, molded it into a ball, and ran after them randomly. "Revenge time!" I screamed and ran from one kid to another without wanting to attack them. I only wanted to join the fun. After all, it had been too long since I played like a kid. "No!" Their screams highlighted the stillness of the night. They dashed in a different direction, which was useless because I was twice their size. With my big, giant steps, I could easily overtake them. I hefted both hands in the air, changed my walk to be slower but stiff, and acted like a monster. The snowball was long gone from my hand, making me use another trick. So when I caught Roman in my arms, I started to tickle him on his stomach. "I surrender, no more, please, hahaha." Roman laughed out loud, tears starting to fall from the corner of his eyes. "Ms. Daley, stop it, please. I lose!" Roman pleaded in the middle of his crazy laugh, but I ignored him."Ms. Daley."My back turned stiff as my motion came to a complete halt. I knew who that voice belonged to. From how she said my name so sternly, I knew it was the head village's wife. I immediately let Roman go. Fixing my posture and wiping the trace of snow on my upper body and skirt, then I spin around to face her. I bowed to her to show my respect, then lifted my eyes to meet with the middle-aged woman. "Mrs. Krester."Mrs. Krester, as usual, didn't bother to behave politely around me. She blatantly showed her disgust toward me. "It's late. You should go back.""Thank you for reminding me, Mrs. Krester. Indeed, the sky is darker now." I pointed at the sky, which actually was not as dark as she claimed. The truth, the night was still young. "Then, I shall take my leave." From the corner of my eyes, I could see Mr. Krester watching our interaction with great interest. It seemed like Mrs. Krestes locked him in the house again. It wasn't the first time it happened. Mrs. Krester always made sure I was not to be near her husband. And I know very well why she did that. Jealousy. For the past month, Mr. Krester had shown his interest in me, making his wife wary of me for absolutely no good reason because I don't even give the same response to her husband. I don't understand what made her think I want to be Mr. Krester's second wife. Mr. Krester was almost thrice my age. The reason for his sudden interest was quite ridiculous to me. Claiming he wanted more children, which his wife couldn't provide him anymore, so he sought younger blood. Apparently, he thought that two daughters and three sons were not enough for him. I didn't know what made him so confident about bringing more children into this world when he wasn't wealthy enough to provide support for another head. Not that I want to give him one. Before I could spin around, Mrs. Krester's voice stopped my motion again. "Here is your payment for today, and from tomorrow onward, you don't have to come again, Ms. Daley."My brow arched as I looked at her, "Did I make a mistake?" "Of course, no. I just think that there is no improvement in my kids' studies. They don't remember everything you teach except the little tale you keep telling them after the season ends." Just say you are jealous because your husband keeps peeping at me while teaching your children. That was the answer I wanted to give, but I swallowed the words back. What Mrs. Krester said was the foolest lie someone could utter. I had been working for them for less than two months, and I could see her children's significant progress. The children finally could read, although only a few simple passages. But that was a massive improvement on their part. "These days, your kids can read a few lines from the book, Mrs. Krester. If you don't mind, please elaborate on which area you think they lacked so I can improve my teaching method."I noticed she balled her fists hard when I acted calmly and confidently despite losing my primary source of money. Mrs. Krester then tightened the cloak around her body and opened her mouth. "I believe you are a smart woman, Ms. Daley. So you must know why I made this unfortunate decision. You don't want me to spell it for you, do you?"Of course. I was right. Woman and their envious tendency for no reason still made me baffled. "Very well, then. Thank you for being honest."After that, I shifted to look at the kids behind Mrs. Krester. I would definitely miss them dearly, but now it was over. So, I turn my back on them. As I walked farther, I could hear a faint scream from them arguing, so I concluded that the couple didn't have an agreement to fire me. I didn't care anymore. I will look for another job again tomorrow. So many kids needed to be taught in this village. Sure, it wouldn't be hard, right?I left my house to pick herbal in the forest the following day. While on my way, I met Brian Harris, the man working in the rice field near my small home. He offered me a ride in his humble carriage. Still, I had to refuse because it was inappropriate for us to ride alone.
I didn't want to hear another whisper of people claiming I was whoring around in the village. All my life, I never dared to think about that kind of shameful act, let alone act on it. The truth, this village was the first place I dressed as a woman after so long. Since my mother went missing nine years ago, I started dressing as a man whenever I went because it was safer that way. So instead of getting molested, I often get beaten. I braved myself to dress as a woman again because I would turn nineteen this year, which I thought was old and mature enough to protect myself. I might have the witch blood in me; sadly, I could only use a simple spell. No one could teach me after my father was dead. Maybe if someone were to teach me, I might be able to be a strong witch. My dear father died tragically when I was still a baby because humans discovered his identity as a witch. While my mother suddenly disappeared out of nowhere when I was ten. Until now, I had never heard of her. I had been desperately moving from one village to another to look for her, but everything was fruitless. I wasn't ready to give up, so I moved to this village. I hadn't met all the people, but until now, I found no one resembling her features. "Violette, are you going to the forest?" My head jerked to Mrs. Davis; the old woman worriedly looked at me."Yes. Is something wrong, Mrs. Davis?""I just returned from the village's hall a while ago, and someone put a warning notice on the wall saying that a witch is living among us." Mrs. Davis shivered in fear. "There is a witch in this age. Can you believe it? That sinful creature should have been dead, but we have one hiding here."Upon hearing Mrs. Davis' words, I felt my breath stuck in my throat. I was founded. Someone was able to notice that there was something different from me. My eyes fell to my hands, looking at my skin color. It was still pale. No greens at all. So how could someone identify me?"Mrs. Davis, do you know when the notice was put on the wall?" I asked carefully. "It should be early this morning because the paper is still in good condition." Mrs. Davis' fingers stayed on her temple as she tried to recall the appearance of the paper."Thank you for telling me. I'm going to see the announcement first." I said, then dashed toward the village's hall in a hurry. When I arrived, numerous heads surrounded the big wall in the hall as they hurried to read the urgent warning. They gasped collectively, and I could hear my heart drumming fast.I forced my petite body between them and reached right in front of the wall. The paper had turned dirty quickly, meaning half of the people in the village probably had read it. BEWARE OF THE ATTACK OF THE WITCH. THE WITCH HAS BEEN LIVING WITH US FOR A WHILE, DISGUISING AS A HUMAN AND LURING US TO BE USED AS A SACRIFICE TO STRENGTHEN THEIR POWER. IF YOU SUSPECT SOMEONE, PLEASE DO TELL THE HEAD VILLAGE SO WE CAN START TAKING ACTION BEFORE ONE OF US STARTS LOSING OUR LIFE.Below the announcement was the list of strange occurrences for the past three months, which included the shooting stars. Everything that was mentioned was a natural cause, not because of a witch. I wanted to scream. I never did any sacrificial ritual or wanted to increase my power. "Don't you think we should suspect new people who recently moved to the village?" "You're right. The last time we had this problem was before the war ended, but a witch suddenly popped out of nowhere. So the witch must be new to the village.""We should start looking at the list of newcomers in the village."My gaze landed on a group of women gossiping. Among them were Mrs. Krester and a young woman who harbored deep hatred toward me—Mia Harriet, the woman who was supposed to marry Brian. Perfect, just perfect. Two women in love ganged to lead people into believing their claim. I know for sure that I have to move before they can find out about me.I made my way out hastily without looking back once. My goal for today was clear. As I arrived home, I began packing my most valuable possessions. I placed several bottles of potions on my back and changed my clothes to ones I used to wear when I dressed as a man. Finally, I combed my long blonde hair and hid it under my father's black hat. "Violette Daley, we demand you to surrender!"Suddenly I heard a loud voice from the outside, followed by a crowd of cheers. I peeked over from my small windows and saw Mrs. Krester and her husband leading the villagers. "Why are they so fast? It's not even an hour yet." I grumbled and noticed each of them had a torch in both hands. "Witch Violette Daley, come out before we barge to your house!" Mrs. Krester shouted with a sinister grin on her face. I didn't know how long Mrs. Krester had planned to trap me like this, but that woman's plan worked like magic. I don't even think she knew her accusation of me was true. I believe Mrs. Krester's goal was to make me flee from the village and out of her life. "VIOLETTE DALEY, COME OUT NOW!" I ignored their shout as I escaped through the back door. I looked over my shoulder and cursed how despicable human behavior was. Then, ran toward the direction of the forest without an ounce of hesitation. One of the villagers might be able to see me moving because a second after, I could hear them shout, "She is running away. She is a witch. Violette Daley is a witch."They went mad and began chasing after me while chanting 'burn her' multiple times. My steps, however, never faltered. It only grew faster due to my desperation. I had to get away if I still wished to see another sunrise. "Stop running, Violette!"My feet pounded the dirt path; my hair was freed from the hat. I gasped as I ran past towering trees and could hear the other villagers' feet hitting the ground somewhere behind me. Sweat beaded on my forehead, and my lungs burned as I pushed forward. I skidded to a sudden stop when I saw the stone pathway winding through the thick forest to a giant wrought-iron gate. "LYCAN'S TERRITORY." I gulped. The other side of this forest was the land of beasts. A dangerous beast I only encountered in tales and books. I took a hesitant step; my heart wanted to leap out of its place as I thought about the probability of dying at the hands of the beast. "You have no place to go now. Surrender, witch!" The villagers arrived, their breath laboring as they delivered their sentences. They smiled triumphantly, thinking I wouldn't dare to cross the gate. I hardened my heart. There were many possibilities in this whole universe. If I were to die in the unfamiliar land, so be it. At least I should try to save myself first from these despicable humans.I spun around, facing many familiar faces who used to greet me warmly and now turned to hunt me down. I could only smile bitterly. "From now, I curse this village with endless drought. No rain shall fall in this land." I knew my tone had changed to dangerous as I muttered the curse. Terror flashed in their eyes as they watched me step my foot past the gate. "May all of you have a painful death." Then my body vanished.English isn't my first language, so please correct me if you see an error. This is also my first werewolf story. VIOLETTE. After casting a curse on the villagers, which was only a bluff, I walked aimlessly in the forest. From the daylight of the sky until it turned beautiful tangerine. Each turn I made only trapped me deeper in the unfamiliar forest. The strong blow of wind mixed with snow didn’t help to smoothen my journey. My face started to feel stiff; the snow adorned my lashes, so the cold pierced my skin each time I blinked. Every breath I took produced a smoke. I rubbed my palm together and put them on my icy cheeks. I wondered whether the beasts caused the harsh winter in this land since they had furs. I clasped my red cloak, hoping it could feed me the warmth I sought the most. My steps got slower and slower as my consciousness began slipping away. If I were to pass out at this moment, there was no doubt that I would die alone. And the beast who found my body would chew my almost rotten flesh. The thought of it gave me the will to force my body to march forward. Maybe just a little m
NOAH. The scent of jasmine mixed with tuberose was so potent in the air. The rich sweetness of it seduced me to snap my eyes open. My head was hung lower, now raised in alert as the aroma kept assassinating my sense like a wave of flash food. My eyes wandered around the dark and empty area, searching for who or what might be the source of the smell that woke me up from my long slumber. Out of instinct, I took a giant step forward, but my movement was restrained by a chain that glowed on my neck. And before I knew it, I was pulled back with robust force until I could feel the piercing stone marring my bare torso."Fucking hell!" I hissed. I touched the chain and noticed how long my hair and beard had grown. Gone was my shoulder-length hair as now it cascaded to the ground. "Shit, how long have I been here?" I rubbed my face and bellowed in frustration.I don't remember why I was caged here. The last thing I could recall was how I cried for my late father, then my wolf suddenly lost
VIOLETTE.I eyed my bleeding hand. Realization finally sank in me that I had just made a deal with a stranger. A Lycan. I had wanted to refuse him, knowing that every word he used to convince me wasn't that good. But, I was aware with my current weak state, I held no chance to fight against him. "Tell me, Violette, how do you get in the cave?" He suddenly asked me when I was busy trying to tear the hem of my shirt to bandage my wound. "I walked, of course," I replied lazily, tying the cloth with my right hand and teeth. I noticed he stared at me like I was some sort of fascinating creature. Maybe I was. After all, I was a witch, and he never saw one. Lucky him, I suppose. "Are you telling the truth?" I looked at him, giving him the most irritating look I had. "Did you expect me to crawl? I dragged both my foot." His gaze turned dark as if I had just made a grave mistake when I only answered his question. He might think that I was raised poorly by my family. "Lead the way." He
NOAH. "Jealous much?" Kasha teased as we sauntered to his residence. Kasha had been my best friend since I was a child. He usually love to annoy me and would jump of joy if I gave him the reaction he wanted. So this time, I chose to ignore his comment. "How is the current situation?" "You are no fun." He said and punched me on the back, then added seriously, "You've gone for too long, Noah. It has been nineteen years since Nash got the throne. Smaller pack lives in misery as their fund and ratio for food often come late. The tax rate is also crazy. So only my pack and the two other big packs flourished in the past years." Kasha pushed the door to his enormous house, and she was greeted by a red-haired woman, which I was sure Kasha had just fucked a while ago. "Nineteen years. It's been that long, huh." I muttered and peeked at the woman who threw a playful wink at Kasha, asking to be eaten right there and then. "Nineteen years, and your taste haven't changed." It was my turn to m
VIOLETTE. "What are you doing?" I whispered to him when I noticed the collective gasp from the spectators. I also peered to see the expression of the king. The king's face appeared shocked beyond words, but he managed to mask it as soon as it appeared. "I told you to lower your eyes, Violette!" Upon hearing his harsh tone, I immediately dropped my head far lower until my chin almost touched my suprasternal notch. Painful silence fell upon us; none dared to open their mouth. I screamed inwardly for someone to man up and voice their mind. But seconds passed into a minute, and we were still trapped in the stillness. Using my elbow, I nudged at Noah, forcing him to speak or move, and I noticed from my peripheral view that his jaw hardened as he looked straight at the king. "Noah." The king finally spoke, making everyone, including me, finally could breathe out. "Fancy seeing you here to celebrate the anniversary of my coronation day. Are you done grieving?" I didn't know which par
NOAH.When the door was finally closed, Violette yanked her hand free. She glared at me with intense hatred in her eyes. Lifting my hands up, I said, "Calm down.""Calm down, you said. Calm down! Hahahah." Violette's body trembled tremendously out of rage. "How dare you ask me to calm down after betraying my trust like that?!" She prowled at me without hesitancy and kept pointing at my chest with her index finger. I would have laughed at how she tried to intimidate me if this weren't a serious situation. But, right now, she was close to exploding. "You are mistaken. I am not—""Which part of it did I mistake? The part where you said I am your slave or the one where you said you'd toss me to your brother? Tell me, which part, Noah?!" Violette's chest moved up and down frantically, and I could her heart thumping wildly.'She is upset because you called her slave.' my wolf told me. Of course, she would be. But I couldn't admit to Nash that Violette was my mate. It would put her in da
VIOLETTE.He kissed me. He kissed me.My brain froze as my pupils grew larger when Noah moved his lips against mine. Slowly licking every inch of my lips as if he wanted to savor the taste. "Hmmphm." I tried to heft my hands, pushing him away from me. However, he engulfed me in his arms instead of letting me go. Caging me in between his hard body. I didn't know how we went from screaming at each other to this situation. Everything moved so fast that I didn't have enough time to comprehend. So, I tried to break free again. However, the more I attempted to flee, the more aggressive he became. The gentle kiss suddenly became heated as he bit my lower lips."Argh!" I yelped in surprise, and then I felt something; soft and sticky invade my mouth. When I sensed it stroked my tongue tenderly and softly, I clenched and unclenched my fist as a strange sensation filled my belly. As if what he didn't wasn't enough, I noticed he grew wilder and impatient. His tongue kept on grazing mine as i
NOAH. Even until I got my release, I still couldn’t erase Violette’s face and moan from my mind. The minutes I spent instructing and listening to her pleasure herself were both heaven and hell. I loved hearing her sensual voice, and I could perfectly picture her in my head while she pumped her finger in and out of herself. The potent scent of her arousal, mixed with her sweet taste, drove me mad. I wanted nothing more than to push myself inside her, feeling as her pussy swallowed my hard cock. It took all of my self-control not to turn back and take her. But when she came and screamed my name. I lost. I couldn’t be in the same room as her. So, I acted like a gentleman and went out to the next room and gave myself pleasure while imagining she was sucking my cock enthusiastically. Honestly, I couldn’t believe we moved this fast. The kiss was wrong on my part. I did it out of desperation, and I wasn’t even hoping for Violette to kiss me back. I had intended to let go of her when I was
Violette. The memories of coming into the ballroom for the very first time attacked me. It felt like it was just yesterday when I walked into these unfamiliar surroundings. That time I was introduced as a slave that could be thrown away, but here I was—entering the ballroom with several eyes following my movement with respect. That time I trailed behind Noah, feeling scared and distant. But now, I walked side by side while linking our arms."Welcoming the Alighmity Alpha—King Noah Wolfson, and his Luna—Queen Violette Wolfson."The guests clapped in union as we sauntered to the center of the room. Unlike the first time I was here, now I could see many familiar faces. Friends, servants, and guards. At the very back of the room, Killian stood like a guard to Joy. Kasha was busy with another redhead. Helio trailed Olivia as she went to see the food. Willa and Dahlia were busy wiping their tears as they watched us. I didn't see Varg, but he'd come soon. "Stop looking around. I'm here, m
Violette. Noah and I stood in front of Herta and Nash. They were shackled in the same cell my mother used for almost ten years. “You can’t put me here, Noah! I’m still your brother! Your only chance to kill me was in the arena. Outside of that, it would be a crime!” Nash lunged forward, but the chain pulled him back. “No, brother. You’ll be staying here until death knocks on your door.”“Your mate is a witch! After finding out she is a witch, everyone won’t let you be a king!”“So?” Tilting his head, Noah grabbed Nash’s hair. His eyes showed malicious intent. “They don’t know and will never know.”“Bold of you think that. I’ve let Lord Bryan…”“Bryan, right? He is one of my people.” Noah tugged Nash’s hair harshly. “And I’ve killed him too. You don’t have anything to use against me, brother.”For once, I finally saw a flicker of fear in Nash’s eyes. He turned to Herta and yelled at her. “What are you doing?! We are going to die if you don’t use your stupid magic!”That made me lau
Noah. Violette’s body trembled in my arms as she watched Nara’s body get buried. She rested her head on my chest, her hands clutching my shirt so tight. Her agonizing cries echoed in my ears like a painful reminder that I, once again, failed her. During the attack, I was searching for the parchment my father left for me—he made a will for me to take the throne after his passing. Nara told me where she hid it before she went to the human land. It was near the gate, so I went there without telling Violette. I was overjoyed after founding another strong weapon against Nash, but the happiness came crashing down as soon as I returned to Nightfall pack and found Violette’s body battered left and right. And the worse, Nara was dead. Helio told me they found her too late. By the time they got into the forest, the surrounding had been ruined. Violette and Nara’s body was lying helplessly on the ground. “I’m sorry, my dear,” She didn’t answer. Only her sob could be heard. “It’s going to ra
Herta. Empty. I knew someone had managed to infiltrate the dungeon since I felt my spell break while I was busy trailing behind Olivia and Nash. They were busy admiring the scenery while someone was taking our prisoner. I took a deep breath before observing each corner of the cell. The melting chain shone like a sore thumb on the ground, proving that my spell wasn’t strong enough. I went straight to the corner of the cell and bent down to see there was a trace of blood on the wall. “As expected. A secret door laced with magic.” My hand felt the wall's surface, then brought it back to my nose. Inhaling the scent of dried blood mixed with the spell. Each witch had their own scent, which usually lingered if they used a strong spell. “Elton,” I murmured. Elton Daley. My master. I laughed upon realizing how foolish I was for not realizing it sooner. How could I miss his track even after staying in the castle for so long? He was already dead, but his spell still lives up to this day. I
Violette. When I woke up, I saw Noah watching me with an angry expression. I pushed my body to sit and leaned on the headboard. “How long have I been sleeping?”“How long do you think?” He asked back. “An hour?” I said while biting my lips. Judging from his glare, I guess I had been losing myself for more than a day. “Three days.”“What?!” Noah inched closer to me and touched my temple with the back of his hand. “Don’t overdo yourself again. You scared me to death, Violette.” He lowered his head and pitched his nose. “You were bleeding so much. I thought you were going to die.”“Come here, my dear.” I opened my hands for him, waiting until he embraced me. And when he did, I stroked his back softly. “I’m sorry. I won’t do it again.”We remained silent after that. Noah’s hold on me grew tighter. He snuggled on my neck and inhaled deeply repeatedly as if trying to reassure himself that I was really with him. I heard too a deep breath before he finally let me go. His grey eyes stare
Violette. The situation after Noah returned became a bit calm. I didn’t hear from Olivia and couldn’t even visit her. She had refused to see anyone. As for Natalie, I heard from the maids she was tortured continuously. Nothing major happened these days. So I used my time to practice my magic. I had found a spell to use my astral body to travel around. The book stated that if we had enough power, we could do it for ten minutes. However, I couldn’t even hold out until two minutes. I had tried to use it to walk outside of Noah’s quarter, but eventually, I was pulled back into my physical body. Every day Noah consoles me that I’d get better with more practice. I knew that; however, could that woman wait until I was skilled enough?Sighing, I closed the book and threw my body on the bed. Another day passed, and I still didn’t make any new progress. I turned my head on the door, counting from one to one hundred. Usually, Noah would return before I reached eighty. “Let’s see if he can re
Violette. That mysterious woman’s plea rang in my head as I combed my hair. I didn’t know whether she was a figment of my imagination or not, and I didn’t have a way to know how to prove her existence. If I went back to the dungeon, it would alert Nash’s people. Magic? That could be used, but I wasn’t sure I could do a complicated spell. In the end, I could only sigh. “Violette!”The door to the bedchamber opened with a loud bang, and Noah appeared disheveled, but his condition wasn’t as bad as mine when I left the prison. Awkwardly, I lifted my hands and waved to him,“You are back,” I said. Somehow I felt like I wanted to weep in front of him because of everything that had happened while he was away. My eyes stung, so I looked up to the ceiling like it was more interesting than Noah.Second after, my body was lifted from the chair, and Noah was crushed against my body. His arms were around my body, and I felt him press several kisses on top of my head. Like a second to nature,
Violette. Two guards dragged me harshly after Olivia’s maid accused me of trying to kill her. I tried to argue and defend myself, but the maid was hellbent that I was the culprit because I was the last person who interacted with Olivia. Not only that, she was certain because I was Noah’s mate. Which meant I had enough reason to eliminate Nash’s mate. Ridiculous, but I couldn’t do anything to prove myself innocent. My only choice right now was to follow the rules. If they wanted to lock me in the dungeon for the time being, so be it. I could only hope the royal physician could save Olivia so she would be able to defend me. We walked for several minutes to the north side of the castle, where not many people linger. Only one building was visible—one that looked old and haunted— Four giant people stood at the entrance gate. Their uniform was a bit different than the usual guard or warrior. Without saying anything, they let us through. The dungeon, just like any other, was a dark and
Noah. Moonstone’s pack condition was far from good. Fresh and dry blood colored the ground—several lifeless bodies scattered around the entrance gate and inside the pack. No sound could be heard, as if no one was breathing besides me, Chad, and the two warriors with me. “Start looking around and immediately evacuate anyone if they are still alive,” I ordered. “Chad and I will try to look for Alpha Marcus.”They nodded without words, then ran from house to house. As for me and Chad, we went to the pack house. In front of the pack house’s door, a young she-wolf body lay naked with a deep wound on her stomach. I squatted down, removed the outer of my clothes, and covered her body. After that, I pushed the door open, showing how messy the pack house was. Each corner of the wall was tainted with blood. Judging from this current situation, I didn’t think anyone survived the attack. This made me wonder how rogues could manage to wander freely in this land while the upper warrior should ha
