When Haylee came out of the mall, Ben was already waiting for her right in front of the mall entrance inside a Rolls-Royce car. Upon seeing her, he got off and took all the shopping bags from her hands, putting them in the trunk before he went to open the car door for her. Haylee went in without delay and the butler went into the driver's seat again after closing the car door for her. The car drove away immediately, heading back to the penthouse. Haylee checked the time on her phone and saw that it was almost seven. Niel would surely have reached home by now. She began to feel anxious, trying to find some good reasons why she was out the whole day. She could not possibly let Niel know that she had met his parents. That guy would surely turn angry if he knows about it. They reached the Anderson Grand Plaza building after seven. Ben got off swiftly and opened the car door for her. Then he went to the trunk and took out all the shopping bags. He helped her carry them until they reached
"I did. It happened before when I was little. It was horrible. So cut the topic now," Niel said irritatedly. His late grandfather was not a mean person. Certainly, every once in a while, he would hold some events where Niel could meet up with his parents again. Yet, of course, somehow, it would turn horrible in the end. His mother had her own family so she could not focus on him. She always had her other kids' matters at the back of her mind. Meanwhile, his father was a person who only care about his work and his company. It was always work in his father's mind even if Niel was just right there in front of him demanding a tiny bit of his time. They both were horrible people to him. They didn't care about him, thinking that he was fine because he was raised by his rich grandparents who would never let him lack anything. "Try answering it. Just once," Haylee bravely suggested while pointing her finger to his phone. "What? Why would I?" The guy was getting more annoyed. He took the p
"You crashed my red Porsche two weeks ago," the guy reminded her again. Two weeks before, Haylee just finished her driving classes and only needed to wait for about a week before she got her driving licence. Feeling confident with her driving skill, Niel allowed her to use his red Porsche. But then, she got hit by another car while trying to change lanes on the highway. Thankfully, she was not hurt by the accident. In her defence, the car that hit her was too fast. While the one that hit her said she was driving too slow in a fast lane. Since her driving licence was not issued yet, it was technically illegal for her to be driving on the road. So Niel settled that matter for her, paying the guy that hit the red Porsche a sum of money to avoid him from making a police report. That way, Haylee's driving licence which was not even issued yet won't be suspended. "You're not over that yet?" She retorted like a little brat. "Do you know how much I loved that car?" The guy scoffed in disb
"Your father called me a few days ago. He said that he'll come tomorrow on Christmas Eve. He'll stay here for a few days," Madam Rosella said to Niel. Right now, they were sitting in the living room. Martha and Ben, on the other hand, went to take all the bags and luggage upstairs.Niel was silent and did not even give any response. He took his cup of tea from the coffee table and sipped on it."You already know about it?" His grandmother was confused by his lack of reaction."Let me guess... He asked your permission to come here, didn't he?" The old lady wondered."Yup," Niel responded shortly.Madam Rosella scoffed and then just smirked at him. She shook her head a bit, couldn't believe it that her son would eventually ask her grandson's permission to visit her. That was a bit absurd for her. But then, her family was just that weird anyway."Is that a sign that you're finally going to have a truce with him?" The old lady spoke again."Truce?" Niel sneered."I never said anything lik
Haylee entered her bedroom and took a rest. She went to sleep for a bit. It only felt like she was sleeping for ten minutes when suddenly someone woke her up."Haylee, dear... It's lunchtime," Martha said while shaking her body a bit to freshen her up."Already?" She checked the time and realized she had been sleeping for over an hour."Yeah, dear. Go wash your face and come down, okay?" Martha replied kindly like a mother. She was about to leave when Haylee suddenly grabbed her arm. Martha turned around immediately and stared at her."Martha... you had never been married before, aren't you?" Haylee said slowly. Martha nodded, couldn't understand what she was trying to point out by asking that question."But did you like had any intimate relationships with men before? You must have, at least a few times, right?" Haylee asked again. This time, Martha sat on the bed and moved a bit closer to her."Of course, I had. What is it, dear? What's bothering your mind?" The maid could sense her
"No. I mean... the other day when she came to the penthouse. That's the only time I met your mother," Haylee denied it immediately."Yeah, Nathan. Your mother didn't really tell me much about Haylee. I guessed it was only something about what you had told her before," William tried to back up the girl."She's not my mother," Niel corrected them both. He really didn't like it for them to address Meredith as his mother."Enough already. Let's get inside and eat something. It's still breakfast time right now. The food had been served so hurry up. I'm hungry," Madam Rosella put the conversation to a halt and ordered all of them to come inside. After breakfast, Niel and Haylee went missing around the mansion, just like always. The two wandered around the mansion to do their own activities. William, however just sat alone in the living room while looking around the space on the first floor. That was the first time he came there so he did not dare to wander around like that place was his. Ev
Just then, the person that became the topic of their conversation suddenly appeared with Haylee."What're your guys talking about?" Niel interrupted his elders and joined them in the living room. Haylee did the same too."Nothing, hon. Just catching up with your father and his business matters," Madam Rosella hid the truth."Why? Is there some problem with your company?" Niel asked his father casually. His voice sounded serious like a man who was ready to talk about business matters with a potential partner."No. Everything was running smoothly right now. Thankfully I can manage well. My company is in good hands, don't worry. All my employees were pretty much the optimistic kind of people," William said calmly while smiling faintly at Niel."If you need any help in terms of capital investment, I have no problem helping. Just reach out to anyone of my people at the Anderson Global Corp. They'll know what to do," Niel said solemnly.Truthfully after Haylee talked it out with him about a
"Outside?" Haylee replied annoyingly while looking at the weather over the window. It had started snowing last night so she reckoned that it must be cold outside right now."No. It's cold. There's probably snow everywhere," she added after a while."Oh, come on. Don't you want your Christmas present? The road was still clear. It was just a light snowing last night. Look, the sun is still out there shining brightly just like summer," Niel said, still convincing her to come outside. Haylee sneered at him immediately."Go get my winter coat upstairs then," she said, daringly ordering him around like he was the servant. The guy just chuckled at her in disbelief. He then told Martha to get it for her.A while later, Niel put a blindfold on her eyes and led her outside of the mansion carefully. Madam Rosella, William, Ben and Martha followed the couple from behind, wanting to see Haylee's reaction to the Christmas present Niel got for her."I'm going to open your blindfold in three, two, on
