Unwanted truth

Helen is befuddled and doesn't know what's wrong. She entered Steven's house. She had expected a warm welcome, but Steven's cold face changed her mood. Helen is trying to figure out what she did wrong to irritate Steven.

Did she offend him without realizing it? Helen was powerless to act. She walked him to his room, but Steven remained deafeningly silent.
