One family

Steven rented his head down here. His second in command's voice was enticing, solemn, and dangerous.

He turned to face the rest of his boys, looked them in the eyes, and shook his head.

"I'm going to get her out of here." A location where we will never see her break light, but there is one thing I must do with her first..." Steven was unable to finish his statement. While inhaling deeply, the words were too weighty for him to speak.

"I..." He tries to force the words out, but they won't come out.

"Is everything all right, Don?" One of his sons spoke slowly.

Steven put his boys in a position where they would be tempted to ask him what was going on, and he knew deep down that they couldn't.

The suspense in them was palpable. They began to leave their positions because they were uncomfortable with how Steven was reacting.
