Amanda
Would you believe that Amanda told the Police that she thinks I'm the one that harmed her grandparents?" Lena adjusted in her seat, crossing one leg against the other, and leaning towards Jason. "What?" Jason feigned surprise, "I don't understand. Why'd she do that?" "Apparently, she saw me driving out of her grandparents' compound on the day of the accident." Lena sipped on the drink that Jason had offered her, then sighed deeply. "What were you doing there, though?" "I actually did pay them a visit, but I walked in and found them like that, unconscious and almost dead," she said sulkily, "so I left. "Why didn't you take them to the hospital? Why didn't you call the police?" "If I had done that, wouldn't that have implicated me?" Jason stared at Lena, trying to read her expression, but she remained expressionless. "You really didn't do it, right? As much as I despise Amanda, I don't want you harming her grandparents. That's my concern, not yours." "You're forgetting that they're my grandparents, too. I couldn't possibly harm them..." Jason looked away, "you're very much capable of doing that," he muttered. "What are you trying to say?" Jason smiled and waved it off, "Nothing. The most important thing is that you are innocent." "Even though Amanda's my step-sister, and we share the same paternal grandparents, I would never harm them. That's not who I am." "If you didn't do it, " Jason's brows furrowed In deep thought, "then who did?" Lana shrugged, "That's for the Police to find out. Meanwhile, if you think about it, you'd benefit massively from this." "How?" "You want to take revenge on Amanda, right? Don't you know that this would destroy her? If you harm our grandparents, you're indirectly hurting her, too," Lena clapped hysterically, as though she just solved a difficult puzzle.” "You claim to be their granddaughter, too," Jason began, "wouldn't this affect you, too?" "I don't really care about them," Lena sighed, "they are only my grandparents in name, to be honest. They never treated me like their own, to be honest." "You're still yapping about being Amanda's stepsister, aren't you?" Jason walked towards the AC stand, took the remote, and increased it. The room was very cold. "Because I really am her step-sister," Lena raised her head down, as though embarrassed by the thought of it, then raised it up again, "My father never really liked me or cared about me, though." "Still," Jason began, " I would have known, don't you think? We have been together for so many years now. So, how don't I know about this? "It isn't something that I'm proud of, Jason. I'm his illegitimate child Amanda tried as much as possible to remain quiet and eavesdrop on Jason and Lena; but, suddenly her phone rang noisily, bringing everything and everyone to a pause. She dashed into her room and leaned against the closed door, her heart beating quickly. Jason and Lena exchanged glances, then Lena said, "Your wife... That was her, right?" She scrunched her nose, as though the thought of it nauseated her. "Yes," Jason offered an uneasy smile, "she should be in her room." "That reminds me, you told me that you were going to divorce her, remember? What's happening? We can't continue keeping our relationship secret," Lena jammed the cup on the table, stood up, and started pacing. Jason approached her and held her waist from behind, "Don't get all worked up Sweetheart," he turned her around, making her face him, "I'm sorry, but I can't divorce Amanda right now. It'd spoil all my plans." Amanda gasped from her hiding place upstairs, not sure she heard correctly. She covered her mouth with her palms, and steadied herself, in order not to make any noise that would give her away. "Are these plans of yours different from what I know?" Lena caressed Jason's beard with one hand and placed the other hand on his chest, "I don't really understand you, Jason. Don't you want me anymore?" Jason cupped her cheeks with both hands and kissed her deeply, "You know I want you, Lena. My marriage to Amanda is a camouflage." Hearing this, Amanda decided she was done with hiding. She approached Jason and Lena, who were so engrossed in their forbidden activity, that they didn't hear her footsteps. "What's going on here?" Amanda asked as she stood facing them, with both hands on her waist. She rolled her eyes at Lena because she had on ripped bum shorts, which revealed her butt cheeks, and a transparent tank top. "As you can see, I'm with Lena, can't you give me some privacy? Did you have to come here and make your presence known?" He momentarily disengaged from Lena and looked Amanda squarely in the eye. "How can you be making out with Lena in our house? How can you be so bold and disrespectful, that you make out with this thing in our house, Jason?" Amanda was furious, and Jason could see it, but he didn't care. "I suggest you go back upstairs and continue with whatever it is that you were doing. Leave us... alone." Lena sang joyously as she saw defeat written all over Amanda's face. "I've tolerated enough of your shameful behavior," Amanda said, pointing to both of them, "and I refused to be disrespected this way..." "What can you do, Amanda?" Jason gave her a dead stare, "I think you've talked enough. You've made your point. Now, please, go back upstairs, before I do something you wouldn't like." Amanda stood her ground, which annoyed Jason gravely. He approached Amanda and gave her the beating of her life, amidst joyful cheers from Lena. Amanda lay on the floor, she could hardly breathe, and before she could see or do anything, she passed out. Lena screamed, extreme fear written all over her face. " You've killed her," she said to Jason, "you've killed her. What do we do, now?" "Nothing," Jason said, "it serves her right. She's better off d ead, anyways!" He grabbed Lena by the hand and together they left the house, leaving Amanda on the floor.Amanda Before I made up my mind to come out of my hiding place and confront my husband and his mistress, I called Anderson and told him to come over to my house in the next twenty minutes.I knew it wouldn't go well, and that Jason and Lena would end up doing something funny, if not harming me. "What's really going on, Amanda, are you in trouble?" Anderson's worried voice thundered against the phone speaker."Not yet," I replied, swallowing hard. " But, maybe, soon.""Don't do it," Anderson warned, "whatever it is you plan on doing, don't do it!""I have to, Anderson. I've been a coward for a long time. Jason doesn't respect me at all. Guess what? Lena's here.""What? Who's Lena?""The lady we saw driving out of my grandparents' place.""What's she doing there?""It's a long story. I'll fill you in later. I have to go, now.""So, you want to confront them? Aren't you scared?""I am, and that's why I called you."*. *. *. *. *Anderson had arrived at Jason's house and found my body
Jason“Yes, Anderson… You've been away from work for a couple of days without any prior notification and reason,” My voice was a little too loud over the phone as I paced to and fro in my office.“I'm sorry, sir. I had an emergency to take care of. I have been trying to reach you via calls but to no avail…”“Don't feed me such bullshit!” I hit my hand on the table as my brows knitted slightly. “There's no excuse whatsoever that can attest to your shortcomings! I'm beginning to get fed up by your inconsistencies…”“I'm very sorry, sir. It won't happen again.”I calmed down a little bit. At least he still knows who the boss is.“Come to the hospital right now!”“But sir…”“No more excuses, unless you are willing to lose your job. It seems you don't need it anymore.” There was a pause for a moment, and I could hear his ragged breathing against the speaker. I couldn't tell what was happening and what he needed to take care of urgently that had him absent for almost four days, but I would
Jason It was three days now and I had not yet seen Amanda. Not that I cared, but I hadn't eaten any proper homemade meals in days. Lena wasn't good with culinary skills, and I never really got to taste a meal she made, not that she could cook, though. But, even if I invited her over now, she wouldn't agree to see me. She hasn't even been picking up my calls, anyway. I couldn't understand where her grievances stemmed from, because I was aware that she also indulged in minor sexual affairs aside from our relationship… or so. I wasn't sure, and I had never caught her cheating on me, but anyway. I walk to the window in the sitting room. Down the road, a couple were hugging passionately, as though they hadn't seen each other in a while and just got back together. It made me remember those days when my love with Lena was still young and fresh. I feel a vibration in my pocket and bring out my phone. The name “little sis,” was boldly written on the screen. Letting out a deep sigh, I swi
Jason I came to work earlier today. I sent Lena a message, telling her that I wanted her to be my Personal Assistant. In reality, I was looking for ways to mend our relationship and keep us nearby. My phone buzzed, and I stared at the phone for the umpteenth time, hoping I would get a reply from her.It wasn't her though. Instead, my eyes caught the news headlines peeping out of my phone… “Billionaire idol beats up a poor man for touching his mistress,” I cringed at the title. These journalists would do anything to make extra cash. The headline wasn't exactly false, but how did these people know that he's been having an affair with Lena Dunham? My mouth dropped wide open, and I zoomed in to confirm and it was just as I thought. I brought out another phone from my breast pocket immediately and put a call across. I was panting quite loudly and I found it quite difficult to stabilize my breathing.“There's false news circulating on the internet. Please, bring it down this instant and st
AmandaI turned restlessly on my bed and I throbbed badly with each turn I made. Finally, I woke up with a scream, “Anderson!”I looked around in hopes of finding him, but he was nowhere to be seen. I sit up carefully and pick up my phone from the small desk at my bedside.I was better now, and the doctor said I was free to go home in the next 12 hours. It was 6pm already and I wondered how long I slept.I unlock my phone, and a message immediately pops up on my screen: “Hello love, I'm sorry I had to leave quickly without informing you. Jason called and demanded I resume working at the company immediately. There are also penalties I'm to face for not notifying him on those days that I was absent from work, but do not worry about that…“I hope you're feeling much better right now. Don't worry, I didn't tell Jason anything about your whereabouts, even though he kept on asking. I'll be there first thing tomorrow morning as early as possible. I would definitely come with your favorite sn
Jason “Wait, what! You told me you wouldn't come as early anymore… You mentioned coming in two days.” I yell unintentionally, as I feel cold shivers run down my spine.“Well yeah, that was my plan initially, but something came up, so I adjusted my schedule. I'm sorry I didn't inform you earlier.” Suzie said as she cuddled her child.“Have you seen Amanda?” I pace up and down. It was difficult to calm my nerves, especially with the situation at hand.“No, not yet. No one's at home. It's just Slim and me.”I breathed a sigh of relief. It was confusing in a way. I was informed that Amanda went home not long ago, but it bothered me that she wasn't yet in the house.“Slim?” I chuckled, “Why would you name my nephew such a name?”“Well, I don't know. It was his father's idea, not mine. I like the name though.”‘His father…’ That statement rang a sang music to my ears. Mark, Suzie's fiance and baby daddy used to be my best friend in college. We had a fallout after I found out that he had fe
Amanda “Hello, gorgeous. You must be Jason's wife.” She gave me a light, brief hug, and I flinched. I wasn't used to ladies being nice to me, and I wondered why she was. We hadn't even met before.“Yes, I am. I'm Amanda Grey.” I said curtly without a smile. I wasn't in the mood to fake anything, and I was getting tired of seeing one woman or another in my house unannounced.“Suzie,” she blurted, “Suzie Yoga.”When I didn't say anything she followed my eyes and caught me looking at her son.“Oh! That's my son, Slim.” She offered.“Sorry… I was just wondering who he was and I didn't want to pry.” I sighed. “You look nothing like Jason. There's no resemblance at all. On the other hand, you have a handsome lad. He looks just like you, but he doesn't have your eyes.”Suzie's cheeks turned pink. She seemed to like the compliment.“Didn't your husband tell you that I was coming? You looked somewhat surprised when you saw me initially.” Suzie walked over to the couch where her son sat, and s
Jason “You're asking for the impossible, Lena. Do you want to see me go down the drain?” I touch my forehead and shut my eyes. I needed to bypass this wisely, or else, Lena won't make it easy for me in the future.Lena rolled her hands at me. “You certainly aren't the first man to have a mistress, Jason. First, you kept me a secret. Now, you're trying to wriggle your way out of this too.”“Lena, please try to understand. This is bad timing, actually. I really can't marry you at the moment.” I held her by her wrist and walked her into my office, which she had been occupying for a while due to my absence. I didn't want any of my employees or staff to overhear any word I said to her. When we were finally inside the office, we sat adjacent to each other. “Amanda is back, Lena. She's back from the hospital.”That news seemed to shock her, just as I wanted. Her brows knitted slightly, and she brought her index finger to the tip of her lips. I could tell that she was in deep thought.“Did
