Chapter 18 You Must Be At The Auction

I didn't want to be the center of attention, and I wished that there was a way I could leave the dining room without being noticed.

Jason was scolding me for serving him food without water, and as usual, I stood still and swallowed the insults and scolding like they were nothing.

I couldn't tell if Suzie was being genuine or not; she looked out for me in ways that I could never have imagined. But, somehow, I felt as though it was too good to be true.

My husband mentioned something disturbing about Mark, Suzie's fiance, so I was actually not in the spotlight at the moment. Thank God. I didn't want to leave, though, so I sat at the dining table and pretended to be busy with my phone and food, as I listened intently.

“Mark, a chronic cheat? Why are you such a hater, Jason? I'm your sister, bro! Stop saying such things to me, especially when you obviously don't have any proof, ok?” Suzie rolled her eyes at Jason, then went back to picking her food. She didn't seem to like the egg
