Oh my... Poor little Mey! Thoughts my lovelies? Much love, Larose Semsem
Roman had never felt the drive to kill someone who didn’t hurt or betray his business or family. He also barely cared about any outsider really, save for Flora whom he considered family at the end of the day… And yet, he couldn’t keep the edge off his voice when he asked through the phone, “How is Rose?” “Not in the best shape, boss,” the words made him still. Sure, the kitten was in surgery, but did that mean Rose was hurt as well? He didn’t know the details, and he hated that with passion. Hell, he would have preferred to be the one to go along with Flora, but he knew that would make for an awkward situation. “She was sobbing in Flora’s arms.” Roman grunted in relief and kept listening. “Mey lost the ability to walk,” Stefan went on. “I haven’t told her yet.” “Find the culprit and break his legs,” Roman commanded dispassionately, though his simmering anger was almost palpable. “On it,” Stefan’s response was immediate. And without further ado, Roman hung up, as per usual. He
Having a fun day? Roman typed the words, and hit send before he even thought his text through. Rose wasn’t even online, but he felt the need to reach out to her. And yet, instead of opening the conversation with something more mundane, like the weather or whatever, he chose to make such a big mistake, knowing full well the kind of day she had. She had cried her heart out in Flora’s arms as Mey was undergoing surgery, only to learn later that her little kitten had lost the ability to walk. How could her day be any fun? There was no option to delete the text once sent, and he decided to own up to his words anyway. He was a fucking mafia boss, and he shouldn’t be so shaken up by the mere act of trying to seduce a woman. Admittedly, it had been years since his last try. Women always flocked to him, and he never really had to, save for that girl back in high school – the goody two shoes who hadn’t wanted to mingle with a bad boy like him. I know my day was all work and no play, he so
Rose woke up early as usual, feeling sadder than yesterday if that was even possible. Her shift started at 6 pm, and that gave her more than enough time to get into the mood to face her colleagues, and go back to the hectic routine of the clinic. It also naturally gave her the time to drop by the vet’s clinic, and check on her precious Mey. After taking a long shower, during which she cried, as she recalled that her little kitten wouldn’t be able to walk, she got dressed and decided to leave her place at once. She was eager to see Mey, but also worried about her despite Flora’s reassurance the day prior. She arrived at Dr Cooper’s clinic at 7:30 am, and was glad to find Melissa, a receptionnist she was cool with. Tears stung her eyes as she asked in a strangled voice, “Good morning. Can I please see Mey?” Melissa offered her a bleak smile before she greeted her back amiably, “Good morning, Rose. It is so good to see you. What happened to your little one?” “She was run over,” an
The texts Rose exchanged with the madman on Connect were rather peculiar, and it felt like the man was people-awkward to say the least. Even though it kept her busy for a moment, she then decided to mute his messages. Not only was she bothered by the fact that he didn’t have a picture on his profile, merely an anime picture of what appeared to be a vampire, but also he seemed rather off in his messages. Also, for someone who claimed he was busy, his responses were almost instantaneous each time. Rose didn’t care for another liar in her life. She had just reached the clinic when she received a call from a number she didn’t recognize. She still took it almost reflexively. “Hello, Rose,” the greeting had the knack to make her freeze in her steps. Rooted in place, and slightly breathless, she all but struggled to let out a simple, “Hey.” “There’s nothing to settle,” the man, who featured in most of her wet dreams as of late, declared matter-of-factly. “But Mr Bianchi…” she was ready
Roman was busy on his laptop, reviewing security footage, as he tried to figure out who had allowed Naomi in yet again, despite the orders he had given. Stefan had offered to take care of the matter, but being the stubborn man he could be, Roman wanted to be the one doing the job, and the first one to know. He had just figured out who had not paid heed to his words when there was a knock on the door. He lifted his gaze just in time to see Flora enter his office, a disgruntled look on her face. He looked at her intently, wondering what kind of issue was she facing, and who had dared to upset her… And then, she spoke up, and basically turned his world upside down. “How clumsy can you be, young master?” She asked, pursing her lips. Before he had the time to retort, she went on, “Rose is going on a date with someone from Connect this evening.” His eyebrows shot up. He truly thought he had more time, but it would appear he had thought wrong. “Time and place?” He grumbled, as he though

The waiter soon came around, and despite the little bit of a grimace on his face – as he no doubt wondered why Luke had been replaced – he asked, “Are you ready to order?” Roman merely gave him a look, promptly sending the man running for the hills without another word. “Who was the man, Rosalina?” Roman asked without so much as a preamble.Rose knew she was treading on dangerous territory, but she knew she couldn’t possibly give in to the mafia boss just because she could feel his simmering fury. Still, would it be wise to say his name, or claim that she had been on a date? It was obvious already that he knew all there was to know. Considering he had suc
Love was far on Rose’s mind as she settled in a chair… But then again, the devil was in the details, and she didn’t know then that love was slowly but surely creeping up on her. “Help! Somebody help!” Someone cried out, making her snap out of her reveries and spring into action at once, calmly but also efficiently. Three men were helping steady a fourth one whose white shirt wasn’t as impeccable as it should be. Admittedly, all four men looked roughened up, but moreso him. The man was holding a hand to his abdomen, seemingly to put pressure on a wound… not that it was doing much good. Indeed, if the blood was any indication, Rose could guess it was either due to a gunshot wound or multiple stab wounds. She didn’t mind the sight of blood nor the rough looks… She just knew she needed to help this man. She was quick to point out to a bed where the three men helped him into… The man didn’t even grunt, never mind saying a word of protest, even though he was conscious, and she briefly w
Rose was resting, still exhausted from her tumultuous night shift, when she received a call from the head nurse. For a moment there, she wondered what could possibly be wrong – the head nurse never called her – before taking the call, “Hello Elizabeth.” “Hello Rose,” the older woman greeted her in a soft tone of voice, “how have you been?” “I’m good. Thanks,” Rose tried not to show how unsettled she was by the call or how curious she was. “Can you come to the clinic to cover today’s night shift?” The woman then asked, straight to the point.“Is something wrong?” Rose asked in a concerned tone. If something had happened to one of her fellow nurses, or they had an emergency, they usually called themselves first. “Leila has a sprained ankle and cannot attend to Mr Bianchi,” Elizabeth explained on a discreet sigh. “Mr Bianchi?” Rose echoed after her, paling ever so slightly at the memory of the peculiar and unpleasant patient. “Yes, Roman Bianchi specifically asked for you once he

After placing the groceries on the counter of her place, Rose went straight to Maria’s apartment. And even though Maria greeted her with a smile, Rose felt that things were slightly off. She could totally understand Maria’s anger though, for she had not replied to her texts, a couple of days ago. She had not wanted to lie to her more than she already had. “How have you been, sweetheart?” Maria still opened the door wider for her. Rose hugged her at once, and let out a strangled, “I missed you.” Mey came, mewling, and asking for attention, and Rose crouched down without hesitating and hugged her little kitten. At first, Mey purred in her arms and nuzzled her face lovingly, and Rose breathed out a sigh of relief. She had been worried her kitten would feel neglected and thus get angry, but it appeared that she didn’t. Soon, Mey jumped out of her arms, and walked out of there daringly. She was being playful, and even though Rose called for her, all smiles, Mey ran down the stairs. Ro
The ten days were up. Rose finally had the pleasure to tell Roman Bianchi that morning in a confident drawl, “And my work here is done.” He let out a noncommittal grunt, before saying, “The money will be in your account by 3 pm, this afternoon.” “I appreciate it,” she nodded curtly at him. Another grunt, and as always, he walked out on her without further ado. He left without so much as a goodbye, not that she expected anything of the sorts, even though her fragile heart had been hopeful. Stefan was the one to see Rose out of the base, with the same red blindfold, insisting that it was necessary to keep their people safe. But seeing as Rose expected nothing less, she didn’t argue. She had a lopsided smile on her face as the fresh breeze hit her face. Even though she had come for a job, not just an ordinary one, and had to deal with the most peculiar patient ever, she could say she would keep good memories out of it… especially her memories with the sweet Flora. Going back to h
Rose was on her bed, just about ready to start reading, when there was a knock on the door. She was confused for a moment there, knowing the mafia boss’ condition had improved greatly. There should be no causes for concern. But then again, he was the mafia boss... Could he have decided he had been abstinent more than enough and hurt himself again? That was the first possibility that came to her mind. After all, though she tried to be normal around his people, she knew she didn’t belong, and thus didn’t try to mingle more than she had to, and couldn't for life of her guess who was at the door. She opened the door, and was visibly surprised to see both Stefan and Naomi. The woman had a disgruntled look on her face, as if she didn’t want to be here. Rose was dying to tell her she didn’t care for her either, but thought it was best not to push her luck. Then, something totally unexpected happened. Stefan nudged Naomi, and this latter had tears of humiliation in her eyes as she said
