8. Temptation

Having failed to get anything out of his attempt to fuck Sabrina, Andrei, who feels empty from the one-sided fuck, tries to distract himself by talking to his best friend and confidant in the pack, Lucas.

After they returned from the hotel to celebrate Andrei's birthday some time ago, the two friends had not been able to talk much to each other. Andrei was still focused on Sabrina, while Lucas was forced to help Heimzel organize the mansion, since their pack was moving unexpectedly.

Andrei knew that it was impossible for Heimzel, his deputy, to do all the Pack's work alone. Therefore, he momentarily allowed Lucas, his friend and personal assistant, to help him organize the pack members in the unfamiliar mansion.

Nonetheless, it was time for Andrei to get his friend back, because the frustrated man needed a friend to talk to. To that end, after exiting the dungeon where Sabrina was kept, the man headed straight to Heimzel's room to retrieve his assistant.

"Heimzel, I want to take my Lucas back," Andrei said casually.

Knowing that the Alpha position was the highest position there, Andrei consciously did not hesitate to enter any room without knocking or asking permission first, including Heimzel's office.

"What the hell are you doing suddenly coming in and asking for me like this, sir," Lukas sneered.

"Hey, hey, no need to take offense. I asked you to come back because I have a task for you," Andrei said casually again.

Unwilling to listen to the two friends' war of words, the sensitive Heimzel immediately stepped in to break it up before it got out of hand. It seemed that the man was used to complicated situations between two people who had been friends since childhood.

"The work here is done, Lu. You may come with Mr. Andrei. It seems he needs you now," Heimzel said, knowing that Andrei would never ask for something of his back if he didn't really need it.

"Are you serious? Don't mind this stubborn master, just focus on the mansion work first," Lucas retorted trying to find conviction in Heimzel's words.

"Of course. There's only a little work left, so I can do it myself," Heimzel explained reassuringly.

"You heard that, right?" taunted Andrei with a lopsided smile.

In the end, it was Andrei who won this argument. Although they were close friends, Lucas and Andrei's positions in the pack were very different. Therefore, Lucas, who was in a lower position, had to always do what his childhood friend wanted.

"Alright then. Call me if you need help," Lucas said, then turned to Andrei who was still in the doorway.

"Well, I hope this assignment our master has given us isn't something that causes as much chaos as the previous one," Lucas continued to openly insinuate Andrei.

Despite their status as superiors and subordinates, Lucas, who was already too familiar with Andrei, did occasionally act this way, as both Andrei and Lucas considered it a hallmark of their one-time friendship.

Leaving Heimzel alone in his room, Andrei and Lucas moved on to the reading room in the old mansion. Perhaps because it had been abandoned by the previous occupants for so long, the reading room that had rarely been touched by their pack members was quiet with a bit of dust floating around, though Andrei himself was sure that the workers had cleaned the room before this.

"So, what task would you like to assign, sir?" asked Lucas matter-of-factly.

"If it's just the two of us, you'd better not be so formal. What's with the excessive sir," Andrei refused, reluctant to be called sir by his friend.

"Oh, no. How rude of me to call you by name," Lucas rejected immediately.

"Tsk, you dared to insult me earlier, but you still want to call me sir, you freak," Andrei sneered, but Lucas ignored him.

And the atmosphere was suddenly silent for a moment. Lucas, who was waiting for an assignment from the Alpha, could only remain silent next to Andrei, until the man himself opened his mouth again to explain what task he had given Lucas.

"Honestly. I just wanted to tell you a little story. Well, it's about the embarrassing thing I did before this," Andrei said at last.

"About?" asked Lucas a little curiously, since Andrei didn't usually talk about personal things like this.

"You know the human we brought here? Sabrina, yes, the descendant of the Crimson Witch," Andrei said.

The man started to open the subject. Lucas couldn't help but listen to the man's story to the end, so that he could respond accordingly.

"So, after having sex with her the other day, like I said, I felt that my Alpha power that had been dormant after my Luna died came back to me," Andrei explained, and Lucas was still listening carefully.

"Then, wanting to make sure, I tried to have sex with her again. Contrary to my expectations, it turned out that after doing it again I didn't feel anything for her," Andrei continued.

Hearing what his friend and leader had to say, Lucas was immediately shocked. The man's pupils briefly dilated, and then in the next second looked down at Andrei.

"Isn't that human still unconscious? I heard it from Rose, our Healer. So you did that thing to an unconscious person?" Lucas said incredulously, but was nodded back by Andrei.

"Crazy! How could this Alpha master do such a depraved thing to an unconscious woman," Lucas railed, mocking Andrei but still calling him by his polite nickname.

"Are you being respectful to your master or insulting to your friend?" asked Andrei, slightly annoyed.

"Both." Lucas replied shortly.

Andrei, who did not accept Lucas's behavior, went on the defensive. He defended himself by saying that he needed to have sex with Sabrina to restore his Alpha powers. Therefore, he planned to lock her up in the dungeon so that he could use her to cock up his powers.

"I will only fuck her when I need to increase my strength. This is also for the benefit of our pack members," Andrei said defensively.

"That behavior is just as depraved, you know that clearly. Besides, even if it was for the sake of the pack members, you should have listened to my suggestion to hand her over to the Vampire herd when we were at the hotel yesterday. Stubborn as hell," Lucas said at length, just to mock Andrei for not listening to his suggestion the other day.

"Whether it's depraved or not is up to me. Besides, I don't plan on returning her to the Vampire pack or making her Luna either. As Moira said, that woman is too dangerous to be Luna," Andrei said, once again trying to defend himself.

Well, there was some truth to what Andrei said. It was impossible for Andrei, who was Alpha, to cast a dangerous woman like Sabrina as his Luna. On the other hand, he also couldn't let her go because Sabrina was the source of his power generation which was very important to protect his pack.

"Well, it's up to the master. For me, once you're depraved, you're depraved," Lucas said, still mocking Andrei.

"You are! There's no point in me confiding in a friend like you," Andrei snapped, then left the reading room in a huff.

Having no choice but to leave Lucas in a fit of pique, Andrei ended up wandering around the mansion. He thought he'd take a quick walk to cool his head, while also checking out the members of his pack, who had been forced to move suddenly due to his decision to take Sabrina away from the Vampire pack the other day.

"Good evening, sir. It's good to see your face after not being seen for a few days," said an omega who accidentally bumped into Andrei.

Not knowing how to behave, because he himself rarely greeted pack members directly these days, Andrei could only smile to return the friendly greeting of the pack members he led.

Speaking of the greeting said by the omega earlier, Andrei, who is prone to overthinking, suddenly had a thought. The man was suddenly confused, was the greeting used for him who had made it difficult for other pack members, or because it was purely to greet him who had not seen his face for a long time? Well, whatever it was, all the bad thoughts probably came up because Andrei was sensitive because he was upset with Lucas earlier.

"But, now that I think about it, I feel guilty about all of this," muttered Andrei, who had retreated to the balcony to be alone.

Along the corridor, the man found many of his pack members' belongings still scattered around. Andrei felt guilty for those who had to rush to move like this, just to accompany him to hide from the vampire pursuit led by the Vampire prince David.

"It's a pity that they have to struggle like this. Because of me, they are forced to hide, then can't work, or even move freely outside the mansion," Andrei continued, still blaming himself.

The man's emotions today went up and down like a rollercoaster. This was probably due to the effect of him failing to get satisfaction from his one-sided love-making with Sabrina. Apart from not getting what he wanted, fucking people without any response also made Andrei feel really bad today.

"Damn power," Andrei swore, using his Alpha power that only appeared when he had sex with Sabrina.

As the man was getting lost in the empty feeling in his heart, Andrei was startled by Reina's sudden presence in his arms. At the sight of the girl, the lazy Andrei only gave her a quick glance.

"So ignorant," Reina sneered disdainfully.

"Stop it Reina. I'm not in the mood to play," Andrei said like an adult to a child.

Andrei's behavior is just the way he is. Andrei never once thought of Reina as a woman. He only continued to serve her because he thought she was like his own family. Well, that was also thanks to Heimzel, Reina's father, who had been very generous in helping him with the tasks at the mansion over the years. In essence, Andrei did not have the slightest romantic feelings for the girl, and only respected Reina as Heimzel's daughter who had done a lot for him.

"I don't want to mess around either! This grown-up girl came to you looking for a drinking buddy," Reina said, trying to be persuasive.

Reina, who did this in an attempt to drag Andrei to bed, certainly did not stop there. That night, Reina was determined to get Andrei to drink alcohol together, so that he would get drunk and have sex with her in bed.

Andrei silently agreed with Reina. He clearly realized that alcohol was the best cure for a bad mood. This was evident, because since the death of his late wife or Luna, Andrei had always gotten rid of the sadness of her death by drinking intoxicating liquor. So, after thinking about it once again, Andrei finally felt that Reina's invitation would not hurt if he complied.

"Alright, let's drink a few rounds of alcohol," Andrei said, finally agreeing to Reina's request.

As Reina expected, after seeing the man alone, the girl immediately realized that Andre was in need of a friend to talk to. So, from the moment Reina came to the balcony, it was safe to say that refusing her invitation to drink was out of the question for Andrei.
