Raymond rose his eyebrow in surprise, seeing how relaxed Evelyn was under his alpha aura --

Few werewolves can do that, let alone a human girl -- he couldn't sense the existance of a wolf in Evelyn. In suspicion of her species, he leaned in to take a better sniff of her, but to his surprise, that seemed to have startled her more than him using his alpha aura --

Evelyn flinched aback, staring at him like a scared kitten. He could hear her heartbeat rocketing high.

He smirked at her nervousness with satisfaction.

"So," Raymond pulled back leisurely, "You were just gambling with an empty guess when you mentioned a deal about a school? Very bold."

He only fell for it becuase he did just signed a new school contract, but few should know about it, let alone a human nobody!

"It WAS a guess," Evelyn nodded, keeping her distance from him, "but I wasn't gambling."

Raymond cocked an eyebrow.

"Forks University, established in March this year on the best piece of green land on Long Beach by a nothing company a year ago. Everything was shouting luxury about this school, yet it hasn't made a single public advertisement for students, not even teachers." Evelyn explained her deduction with a smirk that she didn't even notice she was having, "It might not have drawn too much attention from normal people, but to a werewolf..."

Evelyn left the rest of the sentence unsaid on purpose.

"You are not a werewolf," Raymond chuckled at her cocky smirk.

"I don't have a wolf, but I do have a werewolf father," Evelyn shrugged indifferently.

When bonding with other species, werewolves can have children without a wolf. These children can only be omegas -- the lowest level -- if living in a pack, so most of them choose to live as normal humans and hide their connection with the werewolf community.

Raymond furrowed his eyebrows, surprised at how calm Evelyn is about being a low rank. Maybe that's why she came to see him about a job?

"Even if so, why would you even notice such a small business deal?" Raymond asked curiously, realizing he couldn't read the girl easily like with other people.

"The school's brand-new, magnificent bell tower blocked my ocean-view bedroom window," Evelyn shrugged, "so I dug around to see if by any chance I can get it removed."

Raymond cocked an eyebrow so high it disappeared into his hair before he sighed and chuckled.

"Alright, miss, I'm sorry for your loss," he finally laughed with a light sarcasm tone, "I don't remember any Stones living around that area though?"

It was the Long Beach area. It's not like anyone can just come and go easily.

"I'm the long lost daughter of Noah and Sarah White," Evelyn said calmly, but Raymond caught the slight sarcasm in her cocked lips corner.

Raymond's eyes traveld back to the contract on the table -- it was the business deal Noah White begged him for for days.

Only then did Raymond remember -- he DID know about the Whites finding the daughter switched at birth a few months back. It made the front page when Noah White welcomed the lost daughter with a huge party.

Back then, Raymond didn't even know the man who had begged him for a small deal for days was actually the alpha of a small pack, and later, knowing that fact didn't earn Noah any respect from Raymond either.

"Speaking of," Evelyn pulled a pen out of her pocket --Sarah put it in her pocket last minute saying it's good manner to provide the pen when asking for someone's signature, "father sent me to get your signature. He said you guys already agreed on the terms?"

Raymond let out a light laugh before he shook his head with a resigned smile and took the pen from her.

"So, you figured out my school plan, and then got the contract from your father, ALL just to come and ask for a job--oops." Raymond pulled open the pen and ink spilled all over his hands.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" Evelyn yelped as she rushed to his side with tissues before she took his palms into hers and wiped... in vain of course, the ink wouldn't come off easily.

"It's okay, don't worry about it," Raymond chuckled, leaving his hands in hers as he observed Evelyn closely. Contradictory to what he expected, she didn't seem to be using this opportunity for some physical contact, but seemed genuinely sorry.

Evelyn backed off, sitting there with her beautiful eyebrows furrowed. She was too bothered to even notice Raymond's observing stare--

Sarah gave her a broken pen?? Didn't the contract mean a lot to Sarah? But if Sarah cared enough to even attend to the small details like providing a pen, why would she not notice that the pen was broken?

Raymond signed the contract quickly before handing it back to her: "So, miss Evelyn, you did all this work, just to come and get a job from me?"

"...hmm?" Evelyn snapped out of her mind with a confused look. The slow, innocent enquiring look got another laugh out of Raymond.

"You asked to be the trainer of my new school," Raymond reminded her, secretly amazed at the patience he had today, "isn't that why you are here? Don't tell me you are just here to be a messenger for your father."

"Well, sort of, actually," Evelyn wrinkled her nose with a shred of awkwardness sliding through her eyes, "our pack is in grave danger, and my father took a few loyal members and escaped into your city, so... I'm here on behalf of my father to deliver the wish of swearing our loyalty to you, Alpha Raymond of pack Millennial."

Raymond would have laughed anyone out of the room if they made such a request, but when looking at her solemn face and her nervously gripped fists on her legs, he found himself seriously considering her request.

Keeping her head low, Evelyn snatched a peek at Raymond, only to meet his teasing eyes and annoying smirk -- obviously, he noticed her embarrassment as well.

"Well, my mission is just to get your signature," Nodding at the contract, Evelyn cleared her throat and darted her eyes away, pretending his gaze had zero effect on her, "I'll understand if you refuse. I know we are asking a lot--"

"I don't believe that."

"What?" Evelyn blinked in confusion, "what don't you believe?"

"That you would understand if I refuse. You planned so much just to talk to me, I don't believe that you'd just give up like this if I say no." Raymond chuckled at the cute kitten. She was so fierce and clever that Raymond found it even more luring when she blushes with embarrassment.

This time Evelyn rose her eyebrows in surprise.

"Come on," Smirking, Raymond drawled in his sexy style, leaning back with his arms on the back of the couch behind her, "...persuade me."

It was as if she was trapped within his territory.

"Well..." Evelyn bit her lips. She DID come with her own plan because she didn't think the 10 million contract she brought could neither threaten nor lure THE alpha into taking a family with trouble like how Sarah planned, but now it felt different after Raymond's straightforward seduce!

Raymond tilted his head, realizing he was checking her out. His body was heating up quickly, and he found his heart pounding in his chest...

Something was wrong!

"You built this school for werewolves, right?" Evelyn took a deep breath before she turned to Raymond.

"Hmm?" Raymond shook his head, sweat rolling off his collarbone, "Yes... wait, how did you know?!"

That was a plan he hadn't told ANYONE!

The cocky smile was back on Evelyn's face.

"You bought the most expensive land far beyond normal people's reach, and you built the most luxury school, yet you are not thinking about yield at all," Evelyn grinned, her eyes sparkling as she unfold her deduction, "because the profit is not money, for you. So what do you want? What could the Alpha of the most powerful pack possibly want when he already has everything?"

Raymond felt like he was lost in her beaming violet eyes.

"The answer is," Evelyn didn't notice Raymond's anomaly, "you want the one thing you can't have -- a normal life for werewolves in human society. A place where they don't have to hide their identity and just be the werewolves they are with no worry."

Raymond's mind slowed down. He shook his head to clear his thought: "So? What does it have to do with me taking in your family?"

"You are doing this not for profit, nor for your position in the pack, so you did it because you care. You care about werewolves' welfare," Evelyn glanced at him, a bit confused at the fact that the alpha was sweating heavily for no good reason, "so I bet you would help a small werewolf pack when they turn to you for help with their loyalty--"

Raymond's breath got too heavy for him to ignore his unusual condition. He would have been impressed by Evelyn if he wasn't feeling like a fish out of water.

"Raymond-- I mean, sir," Evelyn finally noticed that something was wrong, "are you alright? Can I get you any--"

"You drugged me?!" Raymond burst out shouting, his hands shaking as he gripped her wrist before her hand could reach his forehead.

His eyes were burning in furious flames.
