Chapter 58: The Laughing Stock

I thought to myself, this is the end.

I didn't see how I could survive this.

I had not succeeded in fighting with the werewolves—I was ridiculously overpowered and it was a foolish attempt to even try. I was proud of myself, though. I tried. I couldn't say that I didn't and that was enough for me.

That didn't mean I wasn't devastated that things had escalated and gone so badly.

The crowd of werewolves was jeering at me and saying harsh words, like how they would laugh when I hung by the neck. I ignored it all because clearly I had more problems than caring about what they thought or said. My despair knew no bounds. It was a raging mess inside of me. There was no beginning or end to it.

I could hardly breathe.

I was forced up the stage and by this time, I felt all my strength leave my body. Accepting that this was my reality and that I wouldn't leave this place alive wasn't easy: in fact, it was impossible. I struggled some more but one of them threw a punch in my gut and I doubl
