Chapter 8. Pleasurable Desire 

Nora's breath fastened as Ryder's lips left her mouth and traveled down to her neck and the sensitive part of her ear lip, which made her shiver in divine pleasure.

Brushing his teeth and grazing the spot where a mate mark should have been.

The heat of his breath sent hot shivers down her spine, arousing something deep and passionate within her-something she had believed was long buried.

His breath was like droplets of steam along her body.

“You believed Alex and let him poison you against me. You let me suffer….hmmm

“D..Do you have any idea what I’ve been through? What has he done to me?” the torment, the pain, or the maltreatment?

Ryder’s jaw clenched. “I know, and if I could take it back, I would.” He ran a hand through his hair, frustration buried in his face. “I was a fool, blinded by my ego. But I’m here now, and I—”

A slow, mocking clap echoed through the dimly lit corridor.

Nora stiffened. Shaking with a frightful look planted on her face…

Her blood turned to ice as she turned toward the sound.
