Selena's POV

"Alpha, the area outside has been cleaned up, but……"

Terry walked in, his expression as blank as the silence that followed the wailing outside.

"But what?"

After the gruesome killings earlier, Xander's body bore shocking scars, but his coldness now seemed almost capable of freezing the air around him.

"They were all dead soldiers. Sensing defeat, they chose to take their own lives."

Terry frowned as he spoke.

"They all died?"

Xander's voice rose instinctively, causing everyone around him to suppress their reactions.

"Yes. We couldn't trace the source. But this incident was my fault, and I am willing to accept the consequences."
