"Why are you here?" Timothy looked down at the woman in his arms, Shauna, with a puzzled expression. Seeing her standing there dumbfounded, he frowned and asked, "How long are you planning to stay in my arms?"

Shauna's face turned crimson as she quickly scrambled out of his embrace, flustered. She tried to calm her emotions, tucking her hair behind her ears before stammering with a flushed face, "I… I came to see if you were okay."

Timothy rolled his eyes. "What could possibly happen to me? You came to laugh at me, didn't you?"

Shauna froze for a second. The next moment, her eyes welled up with tears, catching Timothy completely off guard.

"Hey, what's wrong with you?" Timothy scratched his head, utterly baffled by her sudden reaction.

A second later, Shauna, eyes red and brimming with tears, said, "Timothy, is that really what you think of me?"

"What now?" Timothy felt his scalp tingle, completely confused by Shauna's behavior. She seemed like a totally different person.
