Mavis shot Timothy a furious glare before slamming the car door shut.

"Hey, what's wrong, dear?" he called after her.

"I don't want to talk to you! Goodbye!" she huffed, striding away with her bag, leaving behind a waft of her fragrance.

Timothy could only smile wryly. It seemed that without some strategic moves, he wouldn't be able to bridge the gap with Mavis. He quickly sent a message to Arlo, asking him to mention the idea of him living together with Mavis.

Strengthening their relationship was one reason, but there was another reason he hadn't disclosed—he had an instinct that Mavis's uncle, Hugh, and his family were not as simple as they appeared. There might be a mole in the Jefferson family, and he needed to ensure Mavis's safety.

After sending the message, Timothy hummed a tune as he left.
