Chapter Fifty Five

It was too much for her and she sank back exhausted,

‘I’ll try again soon’

She told herself unaware of the passage of time it was three days later when she finally found the strength to lift her eyelids and look into the eyes of the man she loved with all her heart.

Dante did not notice at first, he had spent so long hoping and praying for this miracle his tired mind could not accept what he saw. She smiled at him and his heart flipped,

‘Gabriella? Baby, oh God, baby girl you are awake. This is amazing! A miracle! I love you pretty girl. I love you so much.’

Ella lifted her hand and touched his face,

‘You are real. I thought I was in a nightmare and I could not find you. I love you too Dante.’

The room was in uproar as the medics rushed in and silenced the machines, checking her stats and talking over each other. During all the mayhem her eyes never left his. The medics were satisfied she was okay and not about to relapse patting themselves on the back saying it looked like she had
