ELSIE’S POV

Ethan’s question hit me so hard and for the first few minutes I could not find my tongue. His words caught me unaware and even though I wanted to smack him so hard on his face, I just had to put myself in order.

“My life, and that of my daughter is none of your business. Respect that!” I warned, not taking my eyes off him, and of course, I didn’t need anyone to tell me that my reaction got him startled. I waited for the next few seconds for Ethan to say something since he felt he had all it takes to meddle in my business but he just stood there, staring at me like he had seen some ghost or something.

“I guess you can’t find your tongue huh?” I asked and turned to head inside when Ethan spoke up, stopping me in my tracks again,

“I’m sorry, I never meant to bring back memories, bad memories I guess,” Ethan said, I guess it's his way of apologizing.
