After everything that happened with Kairo inside his cabin, she belatedly noticed that Naim was the assistant who came to fetch her from her department. Rose is shocked and confused. She does not understand why Kairo changed his mind suddenly. This changes everything.

'What happened with Sylvia? He was supposed to be with Sylvia and his son. What changed? I need to find out. I have to call Sylvia ' she thought.

Numbly she walked back into her department. She ignored the taunts from her colleagues that continued. And she doesn't even remember that she abandoned her glasses in Kairo's cabin. She slumped in her chair.

"Rose, can I have a word with you?" she registered Miller's voice. She lifted her head and saw his head peeking from inside his cabin.

She stood up and walked inside his cabin, remembering her not-so-pleasant encounter with him a while ago.

"I did not get a chance to look into the software glitch, Mr. Miller. I will solve the issue today before going home " she said thinking that this must be about the software bugs.

Miller gave her a gentle smile. The one which he is reserved to fool people into thinking that he is a gentleman.

"I am sorry Rose. I didn't mean to snap at you. We just received this morning about the change of administration. We have a new boss now, who I am sure you would have known by now. He seems to be a reserved person. He refused the grand welcome we managers planned for him. I just don't want to make him think poorly of our department. And I lashed it on you. Please, will you forgive me?" he changed his tune.

He was informed about the new boss and how the boss is planning to change a few managers in under a month. He cannot afford to lose his job. He doesn't have his cousin's backing now, as John is dead now. So he has to survive solely on his paycheck. Rose is one of his best employees and he received an email from the HR department that she wants to quit. He cannot afford to lose her either. He can start his plan again after he makes sure that his job is secure. So he decided to butter up Rose and make her take back her resignation.

Rose is taken aback by his sudden change of attitude. She was not expecting this. His behavior today is odd, giving her a headache. She couldn't even see that his apology was sincere either. She wanted to leave and lock herself inside the safety of her apartment soon. She had enough for one day. She can't take it anymore. So she gave him a forced smile, not all interested in asking about why he changed his mind.

"I am not feeling well. Can I take half a day's leave?" she ignored his apology and requested for a leave.

"Sure" he agreed instantly, ready to do anything to please her.

"Thank you" she mumbled before leaving his cabin. She picked up her handbag and left the company as quickly as she could. Today was a disaster in every aspect. Her life changed dramatically overnight. She never thought she would meet Kairo again. She wouldn't lie that a time or two, she wanted him to come and take her back with him again. But at that time, she never thought that it would come true. And now, she is left torn between giving in and fighting against the pull he still holds over her.

Once she reached her apartment, she was shocked to see that her apartment was empty. There is only a yellow sticky note that is stuck to the far wall, directly opposite to the front door. It's not easy to miss it. Without reading the content, she knows who that note is from.

She approached the wall and pulled the note out of the wall.

'We are waiting for you at home. There is a car with a driver waiting for you downstairs' the note read.

Rose fought the tears that were threatening to fall down from her eyes. She doesn't know what she did to deserve this. Living with a man whom she loves irrevocably but still, cannot be with is the worst kind of torture. She endured it once. And she is not ready to do it again. It broke her then, and she knows it would destroy her now.

"Why are you doing this Kairo?" she whispered sadly. A stray tear slipped from her lashes, leaving a wet trail in its wake.

She saved the note and kept it safely inside her bag before picking up her phone and dialing Sylvia's number.

In Italy, Sylvia glared at her son who was playing with his caretaker Amber, and making way too much noise.

"Quiet. Why are you making so much noise? Go and play somewhere else" she snapped at him. The poor kid ran and hid behind Amber, his caretaker. Amber immediately took him away to his room.

Just then, Sylvia's mobile started ringing. She looked at the number and twisted her face with annoyance.

"Rose, I already told you not to contact me again" she snapped with anger.

Rose on the other end is taken aback by her attitude of Sylvia. She only saw this side is Sylvia when they first met. And Rose justified that she must be really upset to see another woman in her fiancee's bed. Since then Sylvia has spoken gently. This is the second time Rose has faced this rudeness from the other woman.

'Did I wake up on the wrong side or did I stumble into the rabbit hole? Why am I seeing the worst in everyone today?' she thought sadly.

"I know, and I am sorry for disturbing you. But I just want to know about you and Kairo. Are you guys happy" Rose inquired, not exactly telling Sylvia that Kairo had come to find her today.

Sylvia gritted her teeth with annoyance.

'This woman refused to leave. I would have killed her if not for Kairo ' she thought.

"Of course Rose, we are very happy. Thank you for asking. If there is nothing else, I have something to do. Don't call me again" Sylvia lied and disconnected the call.

Rose frowned with confusion. She looked at her blank screen.

'If what Sylvia said is true, then what is Kairo doing here? Is he cheating on Sylvia with me? Did he even marry her?' she thought with confusion.
