Chapter 71: A Baffling Sight

Rameric's POV:

It was hard to say what I was actually looking at right now. When I looked at the side of her at the wound from the previous day, it was baffling to a point. However, as I was studying it, it almost seemed as if it would have been healing quite nicely at this point. As I thought about it further, it was far too soon to heal according to the fact that this only happened the day before. She was a human after all. The next day was when you could tell if there were any signs of swelling and infections. What am I looking at? This can't be right! How was this possible?

As I stood there, I ended up taking a few steps backward to get a better vantage point as I raised my hand and even started to rub my chin. Something about this situation was not adding up the way it should be. As I thought about how this could have been possible, I looked back at her. She was just lying there trying to figure out the reason for my reaction. Which is w

When Gladrian asked me his question, I was not sure what to think about the severity of his words. Despite my previous thoughts, he still seemed as if he was pleased with what he saw. I then looked between the both of them standing there, then looked over at her lying behind him looking back at all of us. Was she wondering what we were discussing as Gladrian's back was to her at this point? Was she aware of the condition of her wound? Did she know that it was as healed as I thought it was a moment before? That was when Gladrian continued in his statement breaking my concentration. "Well, I did not see any signs of infection or to mention, I did not see any discoloration of the skin around the wound either." Gladrian still spoke with a pleased tone at a low volume. "It is looking quite nice,

Chapter 73: This Is ConfusingAlasia's POV:If I had to say, this was confusing. I am not all that sure what to think about what's going on. As I looked around the room, there was no one other than the three of them standing there a short distance away. Who I might add would occasionally switch places as they talked among themselves. I wish I could hear what they were saying as I did not like it when people talked about me. However, they were using a tone that was too low for me to be able to hear from this position. What is it that they were saying? Occasionally one or even all of them would look over at me and I was beginning to think that it had something to do with my side. Was it worse than I thought? I remember getting injured and did not stay hurt all that long. If I can recall, I would have to say that this is the fastest that I have seemed to recover from anything. I remember when my horrible stepfather used to beat me when my mother was not looking, he would stri

Chapter 74: Explanation Soon ExpectedAlasia's POV:Was I not supposed to remove the stitches from my side all on my own? I know as I felt where my wound was, it was closed and healed as I have before. Granted, I have never had to deal with anything like this before, so it took longer than it usually had in the past, but I really did not see any issue with me taking care of it. I have always had to take care of things on my own with no help from anyone, so I did not see how this was much different. Was it really such a bad thing? It would have started to irritate me if I had left it there much longer. So I did what I had to and removed it. "Ummm, My Alpha Caine," the man said as he stood back up to his feet from being lower to the floor after he checked my side. "Well, ummm, Sir? Would ahhh ...? You might want to come and take a look at this."Could he not get a word out? Was it really that bad? As I looked from him to the other two men standing on the other side of me, th

Chapter 75: Who Is She?Rameric's POV:As I was carrying her in my arms over to the bathing basin, I was still shocked at what happened before now. How could it be that she was a descendant of some random werewolf and had been healed already? She was a human, just a weak and lowly human, there is no way that is possible, could it? Despite what my mind was thinking, I still could not shake the image that my eyes saw as I examined her skin earlier. I remember when she was lying there on the ground in the broken wagon cart and I saw the rail sticking deep into her flesh. How could it be healed by now? Nothing was making sense as she was sold to me as a human. Who was she, really? "Do you remember this?" I asked her as I stood there at the edge of the bathing basin. You could still see the steam coming from the surface of the water. Whoever Raiven had come in here, knew what they were doing when it came to getting the water ready. The water, from the looks of it, knew exactly

Chapter 76: Such A FoolAlasia's POV:I can not believe that I was such a fool to say such a thing. Why, oh why, would I tell him that I have a little brother? Why would I even think that he would care about anything like that? I was a slave after all. And if I recall, he told me that I belonged to him and no one else. I do believe he said that I would never see any of my family, ever again, or it was certainly implied! That is why I needed to get away from here so that I could rescue my little brother from that monster before the horrible thing happened to him. I knew I had taught him to swim but even he had his limits. If there was a current stronger than him, he might not manage it if he was already tired at that time. He would be no match for it, then he would drown. I tried but it was no use as I could not help it as the tears were falling uncontrollably down my face. What was I going to do now? I understood the fact that I was upset, but should I really have said wh

Chapter 77: She Seems StressedRameric's POV:Now by the looks of her, she seems as if she has a lot going on in her head due to the nature of everything in her mind. She seemed really stressed at that moment and the only thing I knew that could possibly help since we were already here, would be to have her soak in the nice hot water. I stood there in the water as I looked down at her bare and revealing features as her arms were pressed firmly up against the sides of her head. I knew I had a lot to think about what happened in the short amount of time she had been with me, but getting her to calm down was at the top of that list. "Are you ready?" I asked her in a calmer tone than I used earlier, knowing her head was hurting."Ready for what?" She asked me in return as she looked around once again, even looking at the water. There was still a gentle stream of steam coming off the water and it was quite nice as I was standing there with the water halfway up my legs. Chapter 78: Let's Wash UpRameric's POV:I made sure to hold her firmly in my arms as I was not sure if she had the strength to hold herself up all on her own just yet. Standing in front of me and not having to move is one thing. When you are forced to use your own strength to hold yourself up in the water is a completely different thing. I did not want her to submerge herself completely just yet. Well, not if she was not wanting to do that. I watched her intently, studying her every move, her every twitch as she started to relax in the water. Then as I looked at her, she did not seem to want to connect with my powerful gaze looking directly at her. What was she afraid of?After I was now seated on the bottom of the bathing basin still wearing half my clothing, she was lying there comfortably in my arms, and bare as can be. It was a sight to behold. She was my mate. One thing I did not think I would find, nor for it to be possible for me to find her so soon as it turned out

Chapter 79: I'll Try ItAlasia's POV:My sole purpose of asking him if I could give it a try was so I could gauge what his reaction was going to be to my request. As far as I understood what it meant to be a slave, I do not think he was really acting like a slave owner should from what I understood of their position. Well, to my own admission, I have never been a slave before so I was not exactly sure what to expect from being placed in that position. I was only a slave for the past two days after all. However, I do recall seeing slaves while I was in the market. They were not allowed to speak or look at anyone for the most part. Then a thought came to mind. I remember he told me that I was not allowed to look at any other man while in his presence. So did that mean that I could look at other people but just not other men while in front of him? Wait, there was the time I looked at the older man and he did not say anything to me. Does that mean he was only referring to selec

Vladic Regime's POV:When we walked over to the table, I ensured Sir Lavion had her take a seat where her position would be with her back facing Brookli's position. The last thing I wanted was for her to see my daughter before it was the proper time to do so. Until it was absolutely necessary, that is. Once she took her seat and was seemingly comfortable, despite her nervous posture, I took my seat on the opposite side of the table. I then turned my attention to one of the maidservants standing there just inside the doorway of the room they had entered from. They had not been dismissed, so they knew not to leave my presence unless they were told to do so. "You there," I spoke using a tone that I only used when calling the servants. Once I gained all of their attention, I looked back at the young lady and said, "Go and grab her a glass of water." She even turned around to look at all three women to see which one of them would be brave enough to move. When she looked back at

Vladic Regime's POV:I walked into the little cottage and took a quick look around. I was extremely displeased with the fact that not only was she not in sight. She was nowhere to be seen. From my understanding, she was supposed to be waiting here for us. Or, so that is what I understood. When the front door was closed once again, I turned around and looked at Sir Lavion."Where is she?" I questioned him, trying to keep my tone at a lower volume. The last thing that I wanted was to frighten her more with my powerful aura as I was trying to inquire as to her position if she was there somewhere."I understand your frustration, sire. Rest assured, she is in that room over there," Sir Lavion mentioned."What is she doing in the other room?" I asked, turning back to face him once more and furrowing my brows at him."Well Sire, she was injured and quite dirty upon her arrival," he started to say as he walked around me to stand over by the door she was behind. "Even the clothing she

Vladic Regime's POV:I paced back and forth in my office, occasionally, looking out the window. I had wondered how long it was going to take before Balmerian got back to me, letting me know that his work was completed, and we could move forward with my plans. I looked forward to finally ridding myself of a long awaited enemy. However, I would have to wait until the proper time to do it. The question is how exactly would that task be accomplished? I was so lost and thought to the point that I did not hear when someone knocked at my office door. When I had yet to respond, the door suddenly opened slightly, allowing Emeric to poke his head inside, trying to see where I was. As he watched me, he saw that I was still focused and had yet to notice his presence.Just then he cleared his throat as he said, "Sire?"At that moment, I turned around to face him as I was now hovering above the floor before I said gruffly, "What?! Can you not see that I am busy with thought!?""That's just

  • Thrown Into The Lycan's Den   Chapter 184: Thankfulness To Horror

Alasia's POV:This little cottage was even cuter on the inside. I have to say, from the outside, you would not expect it to look like this on the inside. Whoever did their carpentry work did an immaculate job on it. They definitely had some skills if they managed to do all of this. If I compared the little hut I used to live in with this one, this one would be a complete castle compared to the nature of that little hut. This little cottage even had nicely made wooden floors too. It was very well done and very well tended."Good afternoon, Sir Lavion," said a young woman who opened up the door when he got close enough. "It is a pleasure seeing you again. What brings you ..." "Fetch hot water," said the man as he walked in the door. He even made sure to take extra care in turning me to the side, making sure I would not hit the posts of the door. "I had already sent for Balmerian. He should be here before too long.""Very good, sir," she said as she closed the door again. "I

Alasia's POV:I'm just not sure what to say at this point. Why is everything happening to me? First of all, why did that lady do what she did? And why did the horse bring me here? However, should I stop this man from trying to help calm it down? It did seem to get out of control, and I was to the point where I didn't know what to do. I sat there on the seat holding on to the reins as this man came up and placed his hands on either shoulder of the horse, helping to soothe its temper."Here now, easy boy," the man said, rubbing his hand gently along the horse's neck. I still held the reins very tightly as I was in complete shock at what just happened. My arms and legs felt like they were on fire with the sensation of being thrown onto the rocks on the side of the path. When the man had finished with the horse, he grabbed hold of the reins from the side and walked up to me. "Here, let me help you with that," he said gently while using a reassuring tone. "Where did yo

Rameric's POV:"Take them away," an older man said loudly enough as he walked to the edge of the crowd, coming into view. Everyone stopped talking when they heard him speak. He seemed as if he could be the oldest man in this village. When he got close enough, he looked directly at me as he said, "You sir, I do know you. I may not like what you do, but I understand there has to be business, or else there will be chaos. There has been enough bloodshed here in our little village. We have enough to tend to after the fires are extinguished. All thanks to the likes of those who take from others that they view as less fortunate than themselves. We do not wish to deal with the remaining few all on our own. Take the remaining invaders away. I only ask one thing of you and those of the company you may keep. Ensure that they never come back here."At the conclusion of his words, Raiven walked over to the old man and placed a hand on his shoulder as he said, "It shall be done

Rameric's POV: "The good people of Sorghum!" I projected my voice as I walked over to the village square. I was trying to gain the attention of the villagers as they were yelling at the invaders. They chanted at the men being held in the center of their village encircled by wolves. "Hear me!" I exclaimed. Finally, after a moment, it was quiet enough for me to continue. "As many of you may know me. You also may not agree with the business I conduct myself, but you do know me. You know that I run the business of the slave trade in these lands. However, these men here," I said as I pointed to all of them encircled. "They do not come with the appreciation of civil exchange. They also choose to be reckless over the civil barter system. They choose torment over talking peacefully. Today this all ends!"At that moment, I turned around to look at them, the men still hovering on their knees. Some were holding onto their injured limbs with the ones less injured if th

Rameric's POV:We went around the opposite side of the building, not having to worry about being seen, as most of the villagers were already in the central part of the village. They were trying to put out some of the fires these invaders started. At least there were not a lot of children in this particular village. It was run by older, more experienced farmers. Rager made sure to keep the young woman close, as he would nudge her with his nose periodically to keep her moving along the path we were headed. She was sobbing lightly as we went along. I was pleased that she was not too loud with her sobs as the last thing I wanted was to draw any more unnecessary attention as to our presence. When we got to where we could see what was going on in the central part of the village, I noticed that there were only two more guards standing there next to the caged wagon. One was standing on the ground by the back, and the other one was still sitting on the front seat, waiting

Rameric's POV:This was not the first time Rager and I had set up an ambush for an enemy that was about to lose their lives. The one thing that I knew he really enjoyed was being able to sever the head from the rest of the body. He was so clean about it too. As they would walk by, he could just pluck their head right off their shoulders. They would fall silent in the pile right where they were standing at the time. Rager would chomp on the head a couple of times before spitting it out too."All right now," I said as I pointed in a particular direction. "I want you to go over there and do as I told you. However, if you do not do as you are told, then you know the consequences of what your actions will bring."With that last statement, I used my Alpha tone, but I spoke softly enough that only she could hear me, while the rest of the men around the corner would not be aware of our position. I watched as she did what she was told, walking over to the end of the build
