Chapter 53: Close To DeathRameric's POV:We all stood around her in complete shock at the sight before us. There was a large gaping hole in the side of her abdomen that was still seeping with blood. I was surprised that there was still blood for her to lose at this point. We all stood there not knowing if she was going to live or perish at my lack of blood she apparently lost. Gladrian did not waste any time. He grabbed a few supplies among the various dressings there and started to wash her side. He even had the necessary items to stitch her up which she was certainly going to need. When he had her rolled to the side earlier, he made sure there was only one hole to worry about and not two. To be honest, I was actually surprised she managed to stay out for all of this. No matter the amount of pain a human would be in, once you stuck a needle into their skin in any attempt to try to stitch them up they would immediately wake. The fact she did not, worries me even more. As
Chapter 54: Signs Of LifeRameric's POV:I am getting really frustrated with this situation, as I feel helpless just sitting here. I need to do something other than just do nothing! After Raiven left the room, I stood up and figured I could at least walk around. That would be better than doing nothing, right? Well, at least I would be walking around instead of staying in one place feeling like my mind is about to spin out of control with the lack of my ability to do anything to change what happened. I started to pace back and forth when I thought I would at least walk over to the table and see all what supplies that Gladrian left here for her. I knew that Galien was not likely to return till the new light which I am sure should not be all that long as we have been up most of this dark evening. As I looked over the supplies, I turned to look back at her as she was lying there helpless on the day pad. Why was I so foolish to leave her behind again? Why did I not know better?
Chapter 55: The First MealRameric's POV:Raiven walked in and the door was closed behind him by one of his Warriors standing post just outside my Chambers. I did not say anything as I could tell he brought back more than just a drink for the both of us. I could even smell something a bit more appetizing than just a drink as well. I am sure that she could smell it as well as I thought I felt a bit of a rumble in her abdomen. Then I thought about it, I had yet to provide her with anything to devour up to this point. I placed my head in my free hand as the last thing I wanted to do was remove my other hand from her abdomen. She was seemingly tolerating the pain and that was pleasing to me at least. "To be honest, I am glad I actually brought back more than the two goblets I was provided with initially," Raiven said as he set the tray down next to the items left by Gladrian earlier. "I knew she would need something as I am sure she was parched after her ordeal of screaming and cr
Chapter 56: A Similar Resemblance Alasia's POV:Why was he waiting over me like this? He was just sitting there feeding me little pieces of meat. It was different to devour something that actually tasted decent and was not rotten. I have had rotten meat before and I felt bad for days afterward. I made sure that Brazen ate the good meat when we did have it, but that is still beside the point. What kind of meat was this exactly? I mean, it was still warm even. It was not cold at all nor did not smell bad. When I told him I had never had this before, he said I could have all I wanted. What did that mean? I can not even recall the last time I devoured anything till I was no longer able to take another bite. As I lay there, my mind was running full of random questions. Why did all this have to happen to me?! Was there something that I did wrong to have to experience all this misery? Earlier when he told me to stay here, I could walk and follow him, but he told me to stay her
Chapter 57: Pain So ImmenseAlasia's POV:Do I know what what means exactly? How was I supposed to know what the word mate means? This was the first time that I had ever heard anything like that spoken, ever in fact. At that moment, I chose to look around the room for a moment before I looked back at him. He was still sitting there and did not say anything as he was waiting for my response. I did not really want to speak anything so I just moved my head from side to side and waited to see what he was going to do next. All he seemed to do was take in a large breath of air and let it out harshly once again. Did I do something wrong? Did I say something that he did not like, again? At that, he stood up to his feet and I could not help it as I jumped and that was a mistake. When I moved suddenly, I felt a sharp pain once more in my side and I reached for the place where the broken wooden rail was sticking into me. He then suddenly reached over to me as well and placed his hands
Chapter 58: What To Do?Rameric's POV:I had to say, I wished I could take her pain away. She was very weak in her current state and yet, there was nothing I could do to help ease the pain she was obviously feeling at this point. Earlier, she did not want to take a drink of the Firewater. Therefore she was feeling the full effects of her injury. Gladrian did well in his job when he stitched her up, but, she being a human after all, made it to where she could feel more pain and not being a werewolf or any special being, she wouldn't be able to help heal any faster. Even Rager had the ability to help me heal in a matter of hours but humans were so weak they took months to heal from a simple cut, let alone something this traumatic and painful.I helped to move her to the padded slumber and climbed on it beside her, scooting up closer to her and hoping that my contact next to her would help to lessen the pain, if any. Nothing I did seemed to help her. She was still crying out in pa
Chapter 59: A Long NightRameric's POV:After Gladrian left the room once more, I turned around and sat down on the edge of my padded slumber. I even turned back to look at her lying there and she was still sniffling after she was crying so hard due to the pain. Well, at least she had something to devour before that whole painful experience from her pulling those few stitches. I was fortunate to not ever have to need stitches. I could heal in a matter of hours. She, on the other hand, there was no possible way. I knew it had already been several hours and she was still in so much pain as her wound was still not much better than it began. I even looked down at the small dish I held in my hand and Raiven walked around from the other side and now stood in front of me. He reached out and took the small dish from me and took it over to place it on the table with the other supplies. He then grabbed the chair he previously sat in before returning back to where I was seated. Before
Chapter 60: Entirely New CommandsRaiven's POV:I walked out of Rameric's chambers and looked back down the corridor in the direction we came here. I then looked over at Aida and Basil as they were standing right there. I stood there silent, waiting to see that no one else was in the corridor before I said anything. The last thing I wanted was for my conversations to be spied upon by anyone from this pack. After his Beta acted a bit suspicious of my previous comment, I was not going to put anything past any of them. It was not all that much longer before Arnan, my Beta came down the corridor with several of my Delta leaders and met me there in silence. "Come," I said as I started down the corridor with them all in tow, well, all except Aida and Basil that is. "There is much we need to discuss. This time, we may have other issues to deal with as well."I did not say anything else till we got to the council room behind the main hall. I knew my way around pretty well when it ca
