Rameric's POV:
The curiosity of this young lad amazed me. Was he this sprightly growing up this whole time? I’m surprised that he did not lose his sense of humor living with that excuse of a human who dared call himself a man. It has been some time since Rager has been able to disembody an enemy by severing his head. Only recently was he able to sever a hand, but the head is a lot more fun. There are more bones in the neck and tendons you can feel as they strain until they get to a point where they just, snap! Not to mention, the fact that the enemy would be screaming as teeth are pressed into the soft skin of the flesh on their face. You could even feel the thin bones on their face crushing under the weight of the wolf's jaw.I know how I would’ve done it. Rager would have held him by the head while Riot held him where the legs split. The other Warriors who were involved would have pulled at each limb until his extremities were severed. All before I would finallyRameric's POV:"Alpha Caine," Raiven said in a low tone as he reached me. "Is there someplace we can speak? There is something we need to discuss and not do so around the presence of young individuals.""Follow me, if you will," I said, turning back to face my mate and her younger brother a short distance down the corridor. "I am currently still waiting for them to catch up. Is everything all right?" I asked as I turned back around to face him once more. Then I asked, "Did you go ahead and attend the council meeting without me?""Yes, we went ahead with the meeting, as I heard you were, quite busy," he said with a bit of an intrigued smirk on his face."Well, when duty calls, duty calls," I said as I turned my head to the side and I faced him. I did not want my mate to see my reaction as I could not contain my pleasureful thought just then. Then, I turned my head back straight once again as I asked him in a more serious tone. "What is all not right that we mu
Rameric's POV:I have to say it still angered me that even though that man was no longer living, the thought of him still caused pain to the thoughts of my mate. I then turned toward her and pulled her closer to me, kissing her in the center of her forehead. I tried to settle her worries about what I had previously said. The last thing I wanted was for her to start asking questions as to his whereabouts. How was I going to explain the fact that he was devoured by the pack of wolves I brought with me when we went to rescue her brother? To change the topic at hand, I then turned to look back at the young boy as I said, "We will see to it that you are tended to promptly."I then turned around as we all headed back toward the door. I knew while we were gone the menials would continue to tend to his chambers. However, the closer we got to the door, I could hear him once again ask his sister yet another question. Only this time, I was shocked by what he asked her. "Asia,"
Alasia's POV:“Brazen!” I said through gritted teeth as he looked at me, knowing the tone I had just used to call his name.“Oh, alright,” he said regrettably before he turned back to face Rameric. I slapped my hand on my forehead as he adjusted his stance as he spoke. “Thank you for the kind gesture of offering me protection. I have never had protection before …,” he continued, causing me to lower my hand over my face to cover my mouth as I looked wide-eyed at him. When he looked at me, he stopped talking entirely. What was he doing?! Was he doing this just to embarrass me? I looked at Rameric as I smiled shyly, not sure what to say about my little brother. I knew this was all new to him as it was still new to me too. I knew things were going to be different for us, since we were no longer living in the small hut with dirt covering the floors. Here, we were completely out of our element. I did not know what to do or how to act. What was it to be a mate? Anoth
Alasia's POV:"Have you not had your needs provided for the entire time you have been here?" He asked me in a low tone that only I would hear.I could hear Brazen talking to the new bodyguards he was going to have with him. I even looked back over Rameric's shoulder and Brazen was not paying the least bit of attention to me. I turned my head back around and took in a deep breath and let it out slowly enough. I then nodded in response to his question. As we walked on, the corner of his mouth turned into a half smile, but the sides of his cheeks were raised as if he was smiling but smirking more at me."You will not go without, I can assure you that," Rameric continued. "You are the mate of the Alpha of your pack, after all. You will have more than what you will know to do with." "I am not asking for that much," I said suddenly in a similar low tone to match his. "I only wish for Brazen to be tended to. I will pass on anything new for myself time after time fo
Rameric's POV: “What is it?” Alasia asked her little brother as she knelt down so she could be eye to eye with him as I continued to stand there behind her. Then she continued speaking as she took his hands in hers, “You seem ever so excited about something.”"They are going to start to work on my new clothes right away! Can you believe that?” He asked as he looked back toward the room he just walked out of before turning around to face her once more. “That is amazing, Brazen,” she said as she pulled him into her arms hugging him tightly. “Now, what do you want to do?”I responded before either of them could say anything else as I asked, “How about we get you a snack before we turn in for the evening?” “Is it not still early?” Brazen asked me as he let go of my mate who still held him with her arms wrapped around him. “ I mean, the sun hasn't even gone down just yet has it?”I smirked to myself as I thought, here we go with more questions from this
Rameric's POV:"Since your little brother is resting soundly, let us be on our way," I said as I reached down, picking her up in my arms. "Will he be safe enough?" She asked me suddenly.I looked at her with astonishment. Did she not see his Warriors standing at their post at the entrance of his door? I needed to be patient with her. She still did not know how I did things around her after all it seemed. I needed to teach her, just as I was going to teach her little brother. He, on the other hand trusted me blindly. I was starting to notice she was going to take a little more convincing. I nodded my head toward the door and gestured for her to look in the direction I motioned to. "Do you see those two men there? They are Warriors. That is what you may guards standing at various posts around here. Well, at any post there are supposed to be Warriors standing guard. They are here to protect him. If there are any issues, they would blindly give their lives to protect Braze
Rameric's POV:"Be still, my mate," I said trying to comfort her. I knew those events in her mind were still quite fresh and could cause issues for her. However, I wanted her to know that I was never going to allow anything like that to happen again. I would make sure that she did not leave my side if we traveled about. I pulled her even closer to me and made sure that she was now sitting across my lap with her legs positioned over my lap instead of her feet between my knees. I then looked at Galien and I said in a low and gruff tone once more as I asked, "Who?"Galien looked over at Raiven and they shared a look before Galien looked back at me as he said, "Botau."I looked away as I held her even closer to me. I knew his name all too well. I did not think Alasia would know who he was but still wanted to hold her closer to me for her safety. He was a very powerful individual and did not care for anyone in his service. He was a ruthless excuse of a man and would even use his o
Rameric's POV:"So," I said as I pondered this thought out loud so everyone else could hear it and interject their comments when necessary. "Somehow Zakari had his hand in these dealings the entire time he was a part of this pack, and we are just now finding out about it? In other words, you are saying we somehow managed to miss out on all of this information!?""From what I understand about the news we received today from the migrant, that sounds accurate," Galien responded reluctantly and then continued using a deary tone. "Why else would his first move be to go immediately to one of these villages first thing?" I had to say I was not quite pleased about everything that has been brought to light in the wake of all the events as of late. With the news of these new findings, there was no way I could let this kind of act go unchecked by any means, even if it transpired in human villages. Botau was not a human but he sure used them. He was entirely too old to be a
