Madison’s POV

I walked up to him with a tight look on my face as he continued smiling sheepishly to my greatest surprise.

“What is all this about? Why did you call me out of my house and why are you even here in the first place?” I asked him all the question and he held out his hand on the air for me to stop and I stopped.

“Take a deep breath, Maddy. Just like I said earlier, I just want to talk to you. Is that a bad thing to do now?” he asked me and I sighed then rose my figers on the air and showed him my rung.

“And just like I told you before. Look at my fingers. I am married okay? You need to stop this ridiculous act and get our if here. We aren’t friends that need to check up on each other so spare me all this bullshit and leave already.” I told him and his family laughed.

“You are really not the same Maddison that I knew before. You are more fessty. I love that.” He said then bit his lips.

“What do you really want?” I asked him and he walks closer to me. I stepped backward and b

Madison’s POVThe look on my face was anything. “What are you doing here?” I asked Tyler because that was so fast. Even though Aquila told him to hurry down, it should have taken him some more time.He held my hand and yanked me out of that car. I stumbled and he held my waist tightly. Phil came down from the other side with a frown as he watched us.“What’s the meaning of this? Couldn’t you see that I was about to talk to her?” he asked Tyler with his voice full of rage.“Talk to her? Who are you and who do you think you are to lift your hand and touch her?” Tyler shouted and I gasped. I have never seen him this pissed before.“You are so possessive. Maybe that’s why she called her ex to come and satisfy her. Nobody wants a possessive husband.” He said intentionally to piss Tyler off and I saw the throbbing vein on Tyler’s neck.I held his hand to calm him down and he finally looked at me. “Leave now and never come back.” He told Phil while ignoring what Phil said.“I am fucking seri

Rose’s POVAfter taking care of some files from Madison’s table, I was finally done for the day so I left the company and was about to go to the bus station. My phone rang and I was walking fast to the bus station because I knew that it would soon be time for that bus to go. It was already 8:00pm and I was really tired. I also didn't want to order for an uber today.I picked it and placed it on my ear without looking at the caller ID. “Who is it? Can you call back later? I am in a kind of a hurry to go somewhere.” I said immediately but got only silence after that.“Can you at least talk so that I know that I am speaking to a human being? You called and you are being so dumb right now.” I said and that other end laughed. For some reason, the laugh sounded very familiar though.“Andy?” I asked and he stopped laughing.“You finally now know who you are talking to. Why didn't you just look at the caller ID?” he asked me and I rolled my eyes.“Why are you calling me?” I asked him bluntly

Rose’s POVI stood up in shock while he continued coming towards me. “What are you doing here Andy?” I asked him still with a shocked look on my face. The guy that was sitting down had a smirk on his face.“I came to pick you up. You said that it might snow soon so I just thought of coming here because I was already around the area.” he said and I looked at him with a suspicious look.“You were around the area.” I dragged on and he looked away.“Okay fine. I got your IP address from Madison and I knew that you were here the whole time. I was just watching you while we spoke.” he said and I gasped.“You stalker! You are stalking me” I shouted with a serious look on my face and all the color from his face drained.“I am not stalking you. Trust me. I am not a stalker Rose and you know that. I just got off work and I knew that you would still be busy so I wanted to pick you up but you were already walking to the bus station so I just decided to follow you.” he explained with beads of swea

Mrs. Vivian’s POVWhile watching my favorite show, I passed the news and saw someone familiar. “Isn’t that Tyler?” I asked myself and took that channel to the news.I saw the news about how Madison’s uncle is now the acting CEO of her family’s insurance company. “She wasn't just meant for it. It's as simple as that.” I said while watching it.“You can’t say that. You don’t know how long she has worked for it.” Drake told me as he walked into the living room.“Did you see this earlier? It’s obvious that the uncle can do a better job than her that’s why.” I said while shrugging my shoulders and he shook his head with a disappointed look on his face.“I know you dislike her but then you can’t be happy because she lost something. It’s not that way and she is your son’s wife for Pete’s sake! You shouldn’t be acting like this Vivian!” He raised his voice at me and I stared at him with an opened mouth.“Why are you shouting at me? Just because of that girl?” I asked him and he rolled his eye

Madison’s POVAfter making sure that the press left and that I was alright we started heading back home but then a car made a quick turn to our front and he hit the brakes. Yes, he drove by himself.“Who the fuck is that? Does he have a death wish?” Tyler asked himself then turned to me in worry.“Are you okay? You didn't hit anywhere did you?” he asked me and I nodded. I was just surprised by the sudden break, that's all.The person in the car in front of us didn't make an attempt to come down after almost making us have an accident so Tyler was about to come down but I stopped him when I noticed who the person was in that car.“Don't go down. It's Leonardo. I am sure he has something up his sleeves this time around again.” I told him and he raised his eyebrows.“Then should we be scared of him then? He thinks he has won and we hiding and trying not to step on his toes will make him think that we have really given up.” Tyler told me and I sighed and I wiped the tears that were threat

Madison’s POVI woke up due to the piercing sun in my eye. It seems like I forgot to close my curtains last night. When Tyler made sure that I was okay then left, I had a quick shower and just passed out on my bed. I was that tired. He didn't show up again which made me feel weird because I definitely noticed the sexual tension between us ever since we kissed. I could pretend that it never happened if that's what he wants though. The door to my room was knocked and Mrs. Sarah’s head peeked inside. “Good morning sleeping beauty.” she sang and went to open my curtains more widely.“Did I sleep that much? It doesn't seem so. I still feel tired.” I told her and yawned loudly then closed my mouth.“Yes. This is 9:30am right now. I wanted to wake you up earlier but Mr. Tyler told me to let you be because you had a right day yesterday.” She said and I nodded.“I really did. I just want to be in bed all day. There is nothing for me to do. It's all over right now.” I said to her and she came t

Tyler’s POVI was expecting Madison to have called me after some time but she didn't so I called Mrs Sophia.“Is she still asleep?” I asked her.“She just woke up and is about to eat Sir. Is anything that matter right now?” Mrs Sophia asked me with her voice full of worry.“I am just worried that's all. How was she when she woke up? She didn't cry did she?” I asked her.“She didn't cry but she wasn't also happy. It felt like everything came back rushing to her. She was glad when I told her that you left early to find out some things about Mr Leonard though.” she said to me and I smiled.“You shouldn't have told her about it though.” I told her and she laughed over the phone.“You wanted me to do so Tyler. Don't start acting so innocent about it.” she told me and I laughed.“Okay fine. I will call her later so please just keep am eye on her for me. I don't want her to do something stupid.” I said.“You don't think that she will do that right?” she asked me.“I don't think so but that p

Tyler’s POV“And how do you know that she was the one? Did you also do it with her?” I asked my mum and she rolled her eyes.“I didn't do anything okay? She was bound to do something. She can't just wait and allow her love to be taken from her. That's not how it's done.” mum said and I scoffed.“What is wrong with you mum? You both then decided to do such a petty thing? Does dad know about it too?” I asked her.“I am just hearing about it right now son.” I heard dad say and then he came out of to the living room with an angry look on his face.“You are doing to much Vivian and I won't accept such a disgusting attitude in this house!” he said firmly to mum and I saw her lips quaver. Dad has always been very gentle with her because if his fragile she was.“Are you both really shouting at me because of that girl?” she asked us and then shouted.“This isn't about Madison. Tyler’s POVI was feeling a mix of joy and nervousness as I stood in front of the altar. Finally, the day Madison and I would be married was here. It was the moment I had been waiting for. I knew how important this event was, and my heart was racing with happiness as I waited for my bride. As I walked around in a classy and charming black suit, I couldn’t help but notice the little things that made my outfit special. The suit fit my body perfectly and hugged me in all the right places. The jacket had a slim fit that drew attention to my broad shoulders, and the pants were expertly made to make me look sharp and stylish. The fabric was a high-end mix of fine wool and silk. It had a light sheen that made the outfit look a little more glamorous. The suit’s black color was classic and timeless, which matched both my great taste and the seriousness of the event. A thin satin trim around the lapels added a modest but elegant touch that made the whole look better.A crisp white dress shirt t

The muted hum of talks stopped, replaced by the palpable tension that gripped the room. I kept a composed exterior, channeling the confidence Tyler had instilled in me throughout this ordeal.Leonard Byers, sitting at the head of the table, looked up from his papers, his expression shifting from indifference to shock as he registered my presence. The board members, accustomed to his authoritative demeanor, reflected his astonishment. Madison’s POV“What’s going on in here?” my mom asked, my eyes narrowing as I took in the emotional environment.I quickly wiped away my tears, trying to calm myself. “Mom, we’re just talking,” I said.Tyler nodded in agreement, his eyes never leaving mine. “We’re having a heart-to-heart. I wanted to be honest with Madison about everything.”My mom’s eyes narrowed further, her worry escalating into frustration. “Honest conversation? Tyler, after everything that happened in the past, you think you can just waltz back into my daughter’s life and have a ‘heart-to-heart’? What gives you that right?”Tyler sighed, understanding the gravity of the situation. “Mrs. Anderson, I know I messed up in the past. I hurt Madison, and I take full blame for that. But people can change, and I want to make amends. I love your daughter, and I want to be there for her.”My mom crossed her arms, her anger obvious. “Change? Love? Tyler’s POVI reassured myself, “Headaches are not unusual after a head injury. We’ll monitor her closely and adjust the treatment as required. The goal is to make her as comfortable as possible during the healing process.”Once Madison’s pain medication was administered, she started to relax, with the sharp pain gradually subsiding. Doctor Bennet turned to Madison’s mother with a serious look.“Mrs. Byers, I would like to discuss some important issues with you. Can you please join me in my office? We can talk more freely there,” Doctor Bennet offered.Madison’s mother looked concerned but nodded. “Of course, doctor. I’ll be right there. Madison, I’ll be back soon. Try to get some rest, sweetheart,” she said, gently kissing her daughter’s face.As Mrs. Byers stepped out of the room with Doctor Bennet, I looked at them with interest. • Thorns of the Heart   Chapter 194

Madison’s POVI lay on the narrow hospital bed, my eyes half-closed, trying to make sense of the fuzzy shapes around me. The sterile scent of the hospital room filled my nose, and the rhythmic beeping of machines provided a disconcerting soundtrack to my hazy thoughts. The pain on my side felt like a sharp jab, a constant reminder of something I couldn't quite grasp.I heard my mom's voice in the distance, a comforting murmur that reassured me, "You'll be fine, Madison. The doctors are taking care of you." It was a distant echo, like a lifeline connecting me to the world outside my foggy cocoon. I tried to focus on the words, to find solace in them, but the pain and dizziness were relentless.A nurse came in, her friendly face obscured by a mask, and checked the machines that surrounded me. "How are you feeling, sweetie?" the nurse asked, her voice a gentle melody. I managed a weak smile, attempting to convey that I was okay even though I wasn't entirely sure. The nurse adjusted some

Tyler’s POV"But what of her mum? How will I convince her I mean her daughter no harm?" I asked, my worry etched across my face. Dr. Bennett leaned back in his chair, considering the question. "Building trust with Madison's mother will also take time. It's crucial to be patient and show through your actions that your intentions are sincere. Avoid confrontations, be respectful, and give her the space she might need to process everything."I sighed, a mix of frustration and understanding. "I just don't want to be seen as the bad guy here. I genuinely care about Maddison, and I want her to have all the support she needs."Dr. Bennett nodded in agreement. "It's evident, Tyler. Just be yourself and focus on being a positive presence. Actions often speak louder than words, and with time, her mother may come to see your genuine concern for Maddison's well-being."Feeling a bit more assured, I nodded. "Thanks, Dr. Bennett. Your advice means a lot. I'll do my best to be patient and understandi

I raised my hand, and with a tentative knock, I announced my presence.“Come in,” a voice called from within the room.I pushed the door open and entered, finding a comfortable-looking office with a desk cluttered with papers. Dr. Bennett, with his graying hair, looked up from his work, offering me a reassuring smile.“Tyler, finally you are here. Please, have a seat,” he gestured towards the chair across from his desk.I hesitated for a moment, feeling a mix of nervousness and relief as he took the offered seat. The chair creaked slightly under his weight as he settled in, glancing around the room at the diplomas and medical charts adorning the walls.“Thanks, Dr. Bennett,” I mumbled, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. “Sorry I’m late. Got a bit turned around in this place. It’s like a maze.”Dr. Bennett chuckled warmly, “No worries, Tyler. Hospitals can be confusing. I’m
