Tyler’s POV

My PA looked at me in shock when I said that to her. She probably didn’t expect me to say that at all.

“What do you mean sir? I didn’t do anything and please don’t accuse me of anything.” She said and I scoffed. The girl that I chose for her kindness, neatness and the ability to do a good job was gone already.

I expected more. Can three years really just change a person?

“Why are you asking me that? Do you need me to spell it out for you?” I asked her and she lowered her gaze.

“I don’t know what I did but I am really sorry. I can’t believe we are back to what I started with. I have done a good job so I don’t know what my offense is.” She replied slowly and I sighed.

“Why we’re you looking at my hand earlier. You wanted to check if I wore a ring or what?” I asked her and he eyes widened.

“That’s not it. Your hand is injured and I was about to tell you to treat it or it will leave a scar.” She said and pointed to my hand. There was a wound there indeed. I didn’t even feel th

Tyler’s POVI could see how happy she was from the way she screamed in excitement and I laughed. Some of the company interns walking around had to stop and ask her what made her all excited like that.“It’s nothing. I am just so happy. I just got an important guest coming to my wedding.” She said briefly and I used the remote to close my office window before they could notice me eavesdropping on their conversation.“Thank you so much sir. I will do my very best.” She said in the intercom and I heard it from mine. After that, we had a meeting in the conference room so she came in and reminded me of it.“I will be out soon. Go there and do what you do the best. Just try to steal for time. I need to do something quickly.” I told her and she nodded.“You didn’t have lunch. Should I bring something for you or would you rather buying it by yourself?” She asked me while already going through her iPad for the closest restaurants around.“There is no need for that. I have to go now. We have to

Madison’s POV“I have to leave right now. She has to go back to school tomorrow. She already skipped today.” Caramel said after a while of us sitting down while eating the fruits in silence.“Already? I am getting used to seeing the house so lively. It’s always quiet and lonely here.” I pouted and she chuckled.“We can still meet and talk whenever either of us are free. She will be coming here often now. I know that. She seems to really like you. She doesn’t even easily warm up to people. So I am shocked to see this.” She continued and I smiled.“I was so shocked when I woke up and saw her face close to mine.” I laughed.“I apologize for that again. She doesn’t know what personal space mean. I don’t blame her though. She is so used to doing everything with me.” She apologized again and I waved it off with my hand.“You don’t need to apologize but if you insist turn come here some time with her to make it up.” I told her and she nodded.“She is such a lovely girl. Madison’s POV“That’s such a cruel thing to do.” I told her after she said that to me and she smiled bitterly. “He mater then said that it was his initial plan but he fell in love with me after that blah blah blah.” She continued and I laughed.“He may have meant what he said. Why didn’t you just forgive him? I mean you were madly in love with him too.” I asked her. I was afraid that I had crossed my boundaries but it seemed like she has already healed from it and its easy for her to talk about it now.“That’s didn’t matter to me at all. If he wanted to then he would have told me without me finding out in a such an embarrassing way.” He said.“How did you find out?”“I was sent by my mum to give Tyler lunch because I work close to the company. I got there and heard the rumors. I thought that it was false and was about to go confront him about it but then I heard him talking about it with his friends. It was such an embarrassing moment for me.”“That must have been a lot to take in. I

Madison’s POV“That must have opened a lot of opportunities for her to dump him.” I told Caramel and she nodded while stifling a laugh.“I felt bad for him because it seemed like he genuinely loved her a lot but I guess it’s karma after all.” She said and I nodded.“He got what he did to you. Although I hope he finds happiness from now on. He must have learned his lessons right now.” I said and she nodded.“He met Acquila in school. He went there to pick up his friends daughter. She just told me a few days ago after I tried all means to get it out of her.” She said and I nodded slowly.“How did she take it? Was she okag when she told you?”“Yes, she was. She still likes him though she knows what he did to us was wrong. All she told me was that I’m order for me to move on I have to forgive him and heals of everything.” Caramel said and I laughed.“That girl is so smart. How does she even know about words like that? Madison’s POV“None of that really matters anymore to me so now that he is gone, we are happy.” She replied to me and I smiled.“You are really a positive person. I would have lost so much hope then. Even with the discrimination of other people would have made me go insane.” I told her and she laughed.“What are you saying? I don’t see you going insane right now.” She said and I looked at her with a confused look.“What are you saying?” I asked her.“You have experienced it worse than me and you are still here smiling and joking around. You are even stronger than you can ever imagine.” She said to me and I laughed.“That’s because I had Tyler by my side.” I said without thinking then I placed my hand in my mouth to shut myself. She heard everything then looked at my face and laughed.“What are you doing? You should not be shy of talking about your husband at all.” She teased me and I laughed.“That’s right. Madison’s POVI wondered who the caller was because it was from an unknown number. I stared at the fall without doing anything and Caramel noticed it and looked at me with a worried look on her face.“What’s wrong? Don’t you want to pick the call?” she asked me and I shook my head.“I am scared of answering it. What if it’s some blogger or someone that’s waiting for the latest new to upload an an article?” I asked her and she smiled then came to my side.“You don’t have to worry about that because you didn’t so anything. You should always have that in your mind. Whatever happened didn’t occur because of you. If you keep having a soft heart then they will keep stomping on it. If they call and curse you out then you have every right to scream back at them.” She said to me with hope in her eyes and we both looks at the number ring till the call went away.“That’s better now. Why the call?” I asked him and he sighed“Like I said to the other woman earlier. I just want to speak to you.” He said and Caramel gasped.“Does my voice sound so old that he is referring me as that woman?” She asked me in an offended voice and I closed my eyes.“Don’t mind what he said. He always thinks before talking.” I said loudly so that he could hear it but he only chuckled.“What happens between us was long ago. Don’t tell me that you are still bitter about it?” He asked me with his voice full of amusement.“Is this what you called me for? I was busy before I picked your call.”“We both know that’s a big lie. I knew how important this event was, and my heart was racing with happiness as I waited for my bride. As I walked around in a classy and charming black suit, I couldn’t help but notice the little things that made my outfit special. The suit fit my body perfectly and hugged me in all the right places. The jacket had a slim fit that drew attention to my broad shoulders, and the pants were expertly made to make me look sharp and stylish. The fabric was a high-end mix of fine wool and silk. It had a light sheen that made the outfit look a little more glamorous. The suit’s black color was classic and timeless, which matched both my great taste and the seriousness of the event. A thin satin trim around the lapels added a modest but elegant touch that made the whole look better.A crisp white dress shirt t

Madison’s POVThree months laterAs Tyler and I entered the sleek, modern office building, a wave of anticipation and nervousness filled the air. The muted hum of talks stopped, replaced by the palpable tension that gripped the room. I kept a composed exterior, channeling the confidence Tyler had instilled in me throughout this ordeal.Leonard Byers, sitting at the head of the table, looked up from his papers, his expression shifting from indifference to shock as he registered my presence. The board members, accustomed to his authoritative demeanor, reflected his astonishment. Tyler and I moved confidently to an open space, ready to face the truth.“Miss Johnson,” Leonard stammered, trying to regain h

I wanted to be honest with Madison about everything.”My mom’s eyes narrowed further, her worry escalating into frustration. “Honest conversation? Tyler, after everything that happened in the past, you think you can just waltz back into my daughter’s life and have a ‘heart-to-heart’? What gives you that right?”Tyler sighed, understanding the gravity of the situation. “Mrs. Anderson, I know I messed up in the past. I hurt Madison, and I take full blame for that. But people can change, and I want to make amends. I love your daughter, and I want to be there for her.”My mom crossed her arms, her anger obvious. “Change? Love? Tyler’s POVI reassured myself, “Headaches are not unusual after a head injury. We’ll monitor her closely and adjust the treatment as required. The goal is to make her as comfortable as possible during the healing process.”Once Madison’s pain medication was administered, she started to relax, with the sharp pain gradually subsiding. We can talk more freely there,” Doctor Bennet offered.Madison’s mother looked concerned but nodded. “Of course, doctor. I’ll be right there. Madison, I’ll be back soon. Try to get some rest, sweetheart,” she said, gently kissing her daughter’s face.As Mrs. Byers stepped out of the room with Doctor Bennet, I looked at them with interest. • Thorns of the Heart   Chapter 194

Madison’s POVI lay on the narrow hospital bed, my eyes half-closed, trying to make sense of the fuzzy shapes around me. The sterile scent of the hospital room filled my nose, and the rhythmic beeping of machines provided a disconcerting soundtrack to my hazy thoughts. The pain on my side felt like a sharp jab, a constant reminder of something I couldn't quite grasp.I heard my mom's voice in the distance, a comforting murmur that reassured me, "You'll be fine, Madison. The doctors are taking care of you." It was a distant echo, like a lifeline connecting me to the world outside my foggy cocoon. I tried to focus on the words, to find solace in them, but the pain and dizziness were relentless.A nurse came in, her friendly face obscured by a mask, and checked the machines that surrounded me. "How are you feeling, sweetie?" the nurse asked, her voice a gentle melody. I managed a weak smile, attempting to convey that I was okay even though I wasn't entirely sure. The nurse adjusted some

Tyler’s POV"But what of her mum? How will I convince her I mean her daughter no harm?" I asked, my worry etched across my face. Dr. Bennett leaned back in his chair, considering the question. "Building trust with Madison's mother will also take time. It's crucial to be patient and show through your actions that your intentions are sincere. Avoid confrontations, be respectful, and give her the space she might need to process everything."I sighed, a mix of frustration and understanding. "I just don't want to be seen as the bad guy here. I genuinely care about Maddison, and I want her to have all the support she needs."Dr. Bennett nodded in agreement. "It's evident, Tyler. Just be yourself and focus on being a positive presence. Actions often speak louder than words, and with time, her mother may come to see your genuine concern for Maddison's well-being."Feeling a bit more assured, I nodded. "Thanks, Dr. Bennett. Your advice means a lot. I'll do my best to be patient and understandi

I raised my hand, and with a tentative knock, I announced my presence.“Come in,” a voice called from within the room.I pushed the door open and entered, finding a comfortable-looking office with a desk cluttered with papers. Dr. Bennett, with his graying hair, looked up from his work, offering me a reassuring smile.“Tyler, finally you are here.
