Madison’s POV

We turned around in shock when we heard the person suddenly speak. I saw Matthew by the door frame. Leaning on it.

“What are you saying?” Tyler laughed and Matthew walked inside dining room.

“You both just seemed so intense about what you were talking about so I said that.” He said and I looked down.

“That’s funny. Don’t say that and make her uncomfortable.” Tyler said and I smiled at him.

“Thank you. I really appreciate.” I muttered to him and he nodded.

“Why don’t we all go to bed now? It’s getting so late already.” Tyler suggested and I nodded.

“Is he sleeping over? What’s wrong?” I asked Tyler while referring to his friend.

“He is. He has a meeting with me in my office and he just wanted to stay here for a while but then Clara and we had our own issue so that’s why.”

I headed to my room after that. I made sure to close the curtains. I didn’t want the early morning sun to shine on my face.

“Goodnight.” I heard outside my door before my eyes dropped.

Madison’s POV“Is Audrey always this blunt?” I asked Tyler as we drove to Gem’s school. It was just a five minutes drive. That's why it was so easy for her to come to look for me in the house yesterday.“She is way worst than that. She was actually being more soft because it was your sister. She adores you.” he said and I smiled.“That’s really nice to hear. She adores me.” I whispered to myself then took a peek at the children at the back. They refused to look at each other.“Can we go to the ice cream parlor after this?” Audrey asked breaking the silence in the car. I sighed in relief and then waited for Tyler to answer her.“No Audrey. It's too early for that. You can have a tooth ache.” Tyler tells her and she frowns.“Having ice cream a day won’t just give me a toothache immediately. You know that mum or dad won’t do that for me. I can't believe you are so uptight like them.” she huffed and stared at the window.Tyler was lost for words after she spoke. “Uptight? What are you say

Are you kidding me right now?” she scoffed while looking at me in disbelief.“Did you rent the ice cream parlor?” I asked her and she seemed to stunned to speak. I was tired of speaking to her calmly. I didn't do anything wrong so I shouldn't be feeling sad or guilty.“I didn't but then..” she started.“But then what? You didn't rent out that while place and you want me to not come here just because you said some stupid things yesterday?” I asked her and she glared me.“You seem to be also very rude. Why would you talk in this manner to me?” she shouted.“I only talk to people in the same way they talk to me. I can't really teach a dog how to speak can I.” I said and she gasped.“Did you j

I can go out if I want to.“I can go out if I want to. There is no need for you to be like this.” I told him in a straightforward manner.“I am just trying to protect you. Didn't you just hear what that lady had to say about you?” he asked me with shock on his face.Audrey was in the living room with us watching a movie. “You are the one that told me to not care about what people thinks or say about me. Why are you backing out from your own words now?”“That’s because you do. You care about what people say and think about you, Madison. If you go out and that affect you what will you do then? Madison’s POV“What do you want to do?” she asked me back and I tried to think of something but it was just impossible. I just wanted to stay in bed all day and do nothing else. That was the therapy that I needed right now.“Let’s bake then.” she said excitedly and I felt my eyes widen. I couldn't even cook very well and this girl wants me to bake? Does she want me to burn down this house.I laughed nervously and scratched my head. “I can't actually bake so we have to think of something else.” I told her honestly and she smiled.“I know you can't bake but I can. Mum bakes all the time due to boredom and I picked one and two things from her.” she said smoothly and I gasped.“Are you serious? What can you bake then?” I asked her and she thought for while.“Just the basics. I am still learning. I can only make cakes, cupcakes and cookies for now she said.“Those are not the basics. You can even start your business with just those three. I have a lot to learn from you.” I squealed and she

Madison’s POVWe got out of the grocery store and I turned to Audrey quickly. I was expecting her to explain what she just did but she had a neutral expression on her face and a smile on her lips.“Why did you say that? I am not your mum of course and how can that woman say that. You are thirteen. Do I look that old to have you as a child?” I was rambling at this point and she clicked her tongue.“Its possible. You should be 18 or 19 years old if you gave birth to me ten years ago.” she said smoothly and we walked to the car.Mr. Mark came down from the car when he is noticed us and took the bags from our hands. “You don't need to do thay. It isn't even that heavy.” I told him but he still got it.“But it's heavy. Why are you lying?” she asked me and I but my lips. She is still a child so she couldn't understand why I did that.“Won’t you explain what happened inside?” I asked her again when he sat in the car. Mr. Mark was behind us with the bags in his hand.“Thanks Mark.” Audrey said and he nodded before he left.“This is where the real work begins. We have a lot of work to do.” she said then bent her hand to show that she was getting prepared. I laughed at her cuteness.“What are you saying? We? I thought that you were doing it alone? I mean…you said that you are an expert in this field.” I told her nervously and she looks at me like I am a joke.“You keep surprising me every minute. Wait. You wanted a thirteen year old to do everything by herself?” she asked I nodded.“Yes. That's because you said that you could do it alone.” I replied and she chuckled.“You are so entertaining. Did you even know?” She asked me with a frown on her face.“What is that?” I asked her and she huffed a breathe. “Today is his birthday. You know that right?” She asked me and I tried not to look shocked.I didn’t even know that at all. We didn’t talk about birthdays when we signed the contract. We didn’t think that was the important thing right now.“We have a tradition at anyone’s birthday in my family.” She said and I looked at her immediately.“What tradition? Isn’t it just a normal birthday?” I asked her.“We all gather at the house or a restaurant and have dinner together then cut the cake for whoever’s birthday is. W

Tyler’s POVI was feeling a mix of joy and nervousness as I stood in front of the altar. Finally, the day Madison and I would be married was here. It was the moment I had been waiting for. I knew how important this event was, and my heart was racing with happiness as I waited for my bride. As I walked around in a classy and charming black suit, I couldn’t help but notice the little things that made my outfit special. The suit fit my body perfectly and hugged me in all the right places. The jacket had a slim fit that drew attention to my broad shoulders, and the pants were expertly made to make me look sharp and stylish. The fabric was a high-end mix of fine wool and silk. It had a light sheen that made the outfit look a little more glamorous. The suit’s black color was classic and timeless, which matched both my great taste and the seriousness of the event. A thin satin trim around the lapels added a modest but elegant touch that made the whole look better.A crisp white dress shirt t

I wanted to be honest with Madison about everything.”My mom’s eyes narrowed further, her worry escalating into frustration. “Honest conversation? Tyler, after everything that happened in the past, you think you can just waltz back into my daughter’s life and have a ‘heart-to-heart’? What gives you that right?”Tyler sighed, understanding the gravity of the situation. “Mrs. Anderson, I know I messed up in the past. I hurt Madison, and I take full blame for that. But people can change, and I want to make amends. I love your daughter, and I want to be there for her.”My mom crossed her arms, her anger obvious. “Change? Love? Tyler’s POVI reassured myself, “Headaches are not unusual after a head injury. We’ll monitor her closely and adjust the treatment as required. The goal is to make her as comfortable as possible during the healing process.”Once Madison’s pain medication was administered, she started to relax, with the sharp pain gradually subsiding. Doctor Bennet turned to Madison’s mother with a serious look.“Mrs. Byers, I would like to discuss some important issues with you. Can you please join me in my office? We can talk more freely there,” Doctor Bennet offered.Madison’s mother looked concerned but nodded. “Of course, doctor. I’ll be right there. Madison, I’ll be back soon. Try to get some rest, sweetheart,” she said, gently kissing her daughter’s face.As Mrs. Byers stepped out of the room with Doctor Bennet, I looked at them with interest. Madison’s POVI lay on the narrow hospital bed, my eyes half-closed, trying to make sense of the fuzzy shapes around me. The sterile scent of the hospital room filled my nose, and the rhythmic beeping of machines provided a disconcerting soundtrack to my hazy thoughts. The pain on my side felt like a sharp jab, a constant reminder of something I couldn't quite grasp.I heard my mom's voice in the distance, a comforting murmur that reassured me, "You'll be fine, Madison. The doctors are taking care of you." It was a distant echo, like a lifeline connecting me to the world outside my foggy cocoon. I tried to focus on the words, to find solace in them, but the pain and dizziness were relentless.A nurse came in, her friendly face obscured by a mask, and checked the machines that surrounded me. "How are you feeling, sweetie?" the nurse asked, her voice a gentle melody. I managed a weak smile, attempting to convey that I was okay even though I wasn't entirely sure. The nurse adjusted some

"Building trust with Madison's mother will also take time. It's crucial to be patient and show through your actions that your intentions are sincere. Avoid confrontations, be respectful, and give her the space she might need to process everything."I sighed, a mix of frustration and understanding. "I just don't want to be seen as the bad guy here. I genuinely care about Maddison, and I want her to have all the support she needs."Dr. Bennett nodded in agreement. "It's evident, Tyler. Just be yourself and focus on being a positive presence. Actions often speak louder than words, and with time, her mother may come to see your genuine concern for Maddison's well-being."Feeling a bit more assured, I nodded. "Thanks, Dr. Bennett. Your advice means a lot. I'll do my best to be patient and understandi

Dr. Bennett, with his graying hair, looked up from his work, offering me a reassuring smile.“Tyler, finally you are here. Please, have a seat,” he gestured towards the chair across from his desk.I hesitated for a moment, feeling a mix of nervousness and relief as he took the offered seat. The chair creaked slightly under his weight as he settled in, glancing around the room at the diplomas and medical charts adorning the walls.“Thanks, Dr. Bennett,” I mumbled, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. “Sorry I’m late.
