Madison’s POV

“What are you doing Gem? Come back here.” I said and held her hand back.

“Leave me alone. I need to beat the hell out of her. How dare she say something like that about you?” She shouted in anger and u brought her closer to me.

“You don’t need to mind that at all. What are you doing here? Why aren’t you in school?” I narrowed my eyes at her and she sighed.

“I haven’t seen you in a long time and after seeing the news today I wanted to just meet you.” She said and sat in the other swing beside me.

“How about school ? You shouldn’t have skipped school like that.” I scolded her and she laughed.

“I would have skipped it anyway even if something wasn’t up so this was refute my worth it.” She said and I smacked her back.

“Ouch! Maddy. I came to check up on you and you are scolding me.” She shouted and I sighed.

“How did you know that I was here? You school is quiet far from here.” I asked her.

This is his house and I have no say in things concerning it.” I told her honestly and she frowned more.“What do you mean by you don't have a say in it? He is your husband and this is his house. Everything that’s his is also yours then.” she said and I laughed.“Stop it. Stop acting like a child and go to bed already. You have to go back to school tomorrow.” I told her and she nodded after a while.“You could have at least convinced your friend. I can't believe that I had a crush on you just a minute ago,” she spoke to Matthew this time then went upstairs.“I'm so sorry about her. I don't know what's wrong with her today. She's being so childish.” I apologized to Matthew and he smiled.“It is fine. It's nothing. I always get hit on by girls. I didn't just think that a teen would do the same.

Madison’s POVI pulled away from him quickly and cleared my throat while avoiding his eyes. “Where did you go?” He asked again while searching for my eyes.“I just took a stroll down the street. I was tired of just sitting at home. It was so boring.” I told him and he frowned.“Why are you lying?” He asked calmly and my mouth opened in shock.“I don’t know what you are talking about. What are you saying?” I stuttered and he came closer to me.“You just took a stroll and you smell like a man’s cologne? Your sister is magically in the house too? Make that make sense to me, Madison.” He said and I cleared my throat once again.I wanted to tell him about it before meeting up with Leonard but I couldn’t just do it. I knew that there was a possibility that he would storm in there and cause a scene. I already had enough for the day.“Umm. So the thing is…” I scratched behind my ear while thinking of a way to lay everything out for him.“It’s fine. You don’t have to tell me about it. It’s you

Leaning on it.“What are you saying?” Tyler laughed and Matthew walked inside dining room.“You both just seemed so intense about what you were talking about so I said that.” He said and I looked down.“That’s funny. Don’t say that and make her uncomfortable.” Tyler said and I smiled at him.“Thank you. I really appreciate.” I muttered to him and he nodded.“Why don’t we all go to bed now? It’s getting so late already.” Tyler suggested and I nodded.“Is he sleeping over? What’s wrong?” I asked Tyler while referring to his friend.“He is. He has a meeting with me in my office and he just wanted to stay here for a while but then Clara and we had our own issue so that’s why.”I headed to my room after that. I made sure to close the curtains. I didn’t want the early morning sun to shine on my face.“Goodnight.” I heard outside my door before my eyes dropped.****I felt my bod

Madison's POVTyler’s sister, Audrey stood by the door with a smile on her face. “Hi.”she said when she noticed that I was still standing by the door.“Who is that?” Tyler asked me from the kitchen. Madison’s POV“Is Audrey always this blunt?” I asked Tyler as we drove to Gem’s school. It was just a five minutes drive. That's why it was so easy for her to come to look for me in the house yesterday.“She is way worst than that. She was actually being more soft because it was your sister. She adores you.” he said and I smiled.“That’s really nice to hear. She adores me.” I whispered to myself then took a peek at the children at the back. They refused to look at each other.“Can we go to the ice cream parlor after this?” Audrey asked breaking the silence in the car. I sighed in relief and then waited for Tyler to answer her.“No Audrey. It's too early for that. You can have a tooth ache.” Tyler tells her and she frowns.“Having ice cream a day won’t just give me a toothache immediately. You know that mum or dad won’t do that for me. Are you kidding me right now?” she scoffed while looking at me in disbelief.“Did you rent the ice cream parlor?” I asked her and she seemed to stunned to speak. I was tired of speaking to her calmly. I didn't do anything wrong so I shouldn't be feeling sad or guilty.“I didn't but then..” she started.“But then what? You didn't rent out that while place and you want me to not come here just because you said some stupid things yesterday?” I asked her and she glared me.“You seem to be also very rude. Why would you talk in this manner to me?” she shouted.“I only talk to people in the same way they talk to me. I can't really teach a dog how to speak can I.” I said and she gasped.“Did you j

Didn't you just hear what that lady had to say about you?” he asked me with shock on his face.Audrey was in the living room with us watching a movie. “You are the one that told me to not care about what people thinks or say about me. Why are you backing out from your own words now?”“That’s because you do. You care about what people say and think about you, Madison. If you go out and that affect you what will you do then? It had a light sheen that made the outfit look a little more glamorous. The suit’s black color was classic and timeless, which matched both my great taste and the seriousness of the event. A thin satin trim around the lapels added a modest but elegant touch that made the whole look better.A crisp white dress shirt t

The board members, accustomed to his authoritative demeanor, reflected his astonishment. Tyler, after everything that happened in the past, you think you can just waltz back into my daughter’s life and have a ‘heart-to-heart’? What gives you that right?”Tyler sighed, understanding the gravity of the situation. “Mrs. Anderson, I know I messed up in the past. I hurt Madison, and I take full blame for that. But people can change, and I want to make amends. I love your daughter, and I want to be there for her.”My mom crossed her arms, her anger obvious. “Change? Love? Tyler’s POVI reassured myself, “Headaches are not unusual after a head injury. We’ll monitor her closely and adjust the treatment as required. The goal is to make her as comfortable as possible during the healing process.”Once Madison’s pain medication was administered, she started to relax, with the sharp pain gradually subsiding. We can talk more freely there,” Doctor Bennet offered.Madison’s mother looked concerned but nodded. “Of course, doctor. I’ll be right there. Madison, I’ll be back soon. Try to get some rest, sweetheart,” she said, gently kissing her daughter’s face.As Mrs. Byers stepped out of the room with Doctor Bennet, I looked at them with interest. Madison’s POVI lay on the narrow hospital bed, my eyes half-closed, trying to make sense of the fuzzy shapes around me. The sterile scent of the hospital room filled my nose, and the rhythmic beeping of machines provided a disconcerting soundtrack to my hazy thoughts. The pain on my side felt like a sharp jab, a constant reminder of something I couldn't quite grasp.I heard my mom's voice in the distance, a comforting murmur that reassured me, "You'll be fine, Madison. The doctors are taking care of you." It was a distant echo, like a lifeline connecting me to the world outside my foggy cocoon. I tried to focus on the words, to find solace in them, but the pain and dizziness were relentless.A nurse came in, her friendly face obscured by a mask, and checked the machines that surrounded me. "How are you feeling, sweetie?" the nurse asked, her voice a gentle melody. I managed a weak smile, attempting to convey that I was okay even though I wasn't entirely sure. The nurse adjusted some

Tyler’s POV"But what of her mum? How will I convince her I mean her daughter no harm?" I asked, my worry etched across my face. Dr. Bennett leaned back in his chair, considering the question. "Building trust with Madison's mother will also take time. It's crucial to be patient and show through your actions that your intentions are sincere. Avoid confrontations, be respectful, and give her the space she might need to process everything."I sighed, a mix of frustration and understanding. "I just don't want to be seen as the bad guy here. I genuinely care about Maddison, and I want her to have all the support she needs."Dr. Bennett nodded in agreement. "It's evident, Tyler. Just be yourself and focus on being a positive presence. Actions often speak louder than words, and with time, her mother may come to see your genuine concern for Maddison's well-being."Feeling a bit more assured, I nodded. "Thanks, Dr. Bennett. Your advice means a lot. I'll do my best to be patient and understandi

I raised my hand, and with a tentative knock, I announced my presence.“Come in,” a voice called from within the room.I pushed the door open and entered, finding a comfortable-looking office with a desk cluttered with papers. Dr. Bennett, with his graying hair, looked up from his work, offering me a reassuring smile.“Tyler, finally you are here. Please, have a seat,” he gestured towards the chair across from his desk.I hesitated for a moment, feeling a mix of nervousness and relief as he took the offered seat. The chair creaked slightly under his weight as he settled in, glancing around the room at the diplomas and medical charts adorning the walls.“Thanks, Dr. Bennett,” I mumbled, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. “Sorry I’m late. Got a bit turned around in this place. It’s like a maze.”Dr. Bennett chuckled warmly, “No worries, Tyler. Hospitals can be confusing. I’m
