Dominic shook his head and held her hands that settled on his cheeks. He whispered, “Don’t worry I just recalled something in the past when I was younger. A memory with my mother and that goddamn Duke.”

“What was it about?” She whispered, wondering if it could do be a clue for them to use later on.

“He threatened my mother that if she leave I would be in danger. I realize only now that the shackle that tied my mother in that castle wasn’t her feeling for the Duke but for my sake.” Dominic smiled again seeing her face filled with worries and concerns as well as sympathy.

“I know darling, I am not to blame for what happened and I won’t blame myself anymore.”

He then returned his gaze to Starvos and said, “I think that’s enough for the interrogation. I don’t see anything else I need to tell ask from her. The fact that she left without doing anything must mean she had said the truth.”

Starvos nodded, “Although I can’t remember you well enough I don’t see you will do harm to us anymore.”
