Dominic’s knuckles had turned red. His heart felt an indescribable worry when he had knocked on the door but heard no response coming from Rose. He couldn’t believe the keen sense of smell that he always had failed him too when he tried to locate her by scent.

He tugged her by her wrist, pulling her body to his embrace. A soft sigh escaped from his lips, one that was filled with worry and concern.

“I’m sorry,” whispered Rose. She could feel his loud heartbeat upon her face that rested on his chest. She could tell he was so worried that he almost lost himself in the fear of losing her.

Dominic pulled away and shook his head, “No, I didn’t want you to apologize to me. I was only worried that when I am not with you.. especially in Essex. Back in Agios I still could breathe a little, because I know you will be there with the others save and sound. But in Essex where everyone hates us, I always worry that one day you will get hurt.”
