I was sitting on the toilet lid, in the far end cubicle of one of the busy Los Angeles airport toilets, with a one-way ticket to Italy and a test pack that showed two very bright red lines.
"D*mn," I moaned weakly.
I've done nothing since I walked into this cubicle half an hour ago, other than cry and cry, as if my eyes were a leaking dam. So that no one would hear my crying, I stuffed the handkerchief into my mouth and bit it.
I'm trying to strengthen myself to continue, after what I've experienced these last two tumultuous months.
=Flashback, five weeks ago=
"Mom, have you seen Jared?"
"I saw him leaving with your father earlier," answered my mother, waving her hand outside. "I think your father felt the need to give advice to his future son-in-law before the event started. You know how possessive he is of you, right?"
I just laughed and continued walking towards the park. I feel happiness and enthusiasm make my steps light.
In an hour, my engagement ceremony with Jared will begin. My boyfriend since high school and I will soon exchange rings and take our relationship to the next level.
The garden looks quiet, as does the gazebo. My forehead furrowed, wondering where a father would take his only daughter's prospective fiancé to have a serious talk.
Then, I saw a light coming from the direction of the stable. I walked that way, sneaking around so that the two men I loved in the stables couldn't hear me coming.
Jared and my family have a very good relationship. Especially with my father, they are quite close and coincidentally they also have the same hobby, namely sea fishing.
However, this time, I wanted to know what the two of them would discuss. What is clear, I'm sure, is that the topic is not about fishing. In fact I was almost certain that they were talking about me.
I stood behind the stable door and listened, my heart pounding.
"Aah... Alex, please. I can't take it anymore. Please, give me that, Daddy."
"Oh my God, Jared, you're driving me crazy! We shouldn't be doing this here, at a time like this. Soon you'll be engaged to my daughter!"
"You know I only love you, Daddy. Please, touch me now, I can't take it anymore! I want you in my body. Fill me, Daddy."
"Ugh, you are my slutty sexy boy, spread your legs, Baby, I need to prepare you a little. Ah, you are so sexy in this suit!"
I was stunned. Slowly, I stepped and entered the stables. Under the dim light, I saw them. My father and my fiancé.
They didn't notice my presence, too engrossed in the disgusting deed they were doing while standing, their backs to me. Both of their pants dropped to their knees, and the sound of kisses and moans mixed together, as the intense aroma of s*x lingered in the air.
I backed away slowly, then ran as fast as I could after exiting through the stable door. I still heard someone's voice inside, gasping. Maybe my father.
My feet seemed to be moving on their own, running very fast, until then I almost fell because one of the soles of my shoes broke.
I stopped and took off my shoes, lifted my dress high and ran towards the garage.
Mr Dani looked surprised to see me. "Miss, why are you--"
I got behind the wheel of my mother's Bentley, which the door was wide open because it looked like it was being cleaned by Mr. Dani, my family's driver, then slammed the door and started the car with the keys hanging, then stepped on the gas and drove quickly out of Hart villa, my residence.
My run ended in front of the Destiny Club at the Destiny Blue hotel. I got out of the Bentley and entered the club, just giving a nod to the club door security who definitely recognized me.
"Ms. Loreine," said Jack, my favorite bartender. "Oh, you look... different."
"Give me your strongest drink, Jack. I need to get drunk tonight," I said in a cold tone.
Jack smiled sweetly and made me a bright blue drink. He pointed to a corner and I saw someone sitting on a chair in that corner, daydreaming while playing with cigarette smoke.
"Mr. David is there," said Jack. "It seems like he's not doing well either. Maybe, you and him can talk to each other."
My eyes followed Jack's fingers, and I saw a broad back on the vvip booth. His expression was shrouded in thick smoke, making it difficult for me to see his mood at this time. But the outline of his sharp side face, his high nose, and the clear muscle lines when he picked up the wine glass would make every woman who came to the bar open her legs.
My steps began to move, and David looked at me in surprise when he saw me approaching his seat.
"Lou? Why are you here? Shouldn't you--"
"Shh... don't say anything." I sat down and immediately put my finger on his sexy lips, and the heat of his breath made me want to kiss him immediately.
Yes, and I did too. The pain and alcohol made me forget all my reserve, and I immediately straddled his lap.
"Loreine... you..." Dave gasped and pulled my face away, forcing me to face him.
"Dave, please..." My tears flowed and I said in pain, "Please, don't ask anything, don't say anything. Now, I just want you to fill me with your dick."
"Ah!" The next moment, I felt like I was being lifted up, and I was held in his arms. Maybe he was the vvip of the bar, so after he snapped his fingers, a waiter came and took us into a luxurious room.
When the door was closed, I was immediately thrown onto the bed by him, and the next second, his strong body pressed me up. "Lou... If this can make you forget the pain, I will do my best." He whispered in my ear in a low and sexy voice.
"Yes, shred me, next." I held his head tight, licked his ear with my tongue, and mumbled.
He let go of me, and I looked at him with displeasure, but then his behavior made my eyes widen. He pushed my skirt down on my waist, and then bent my thighs. He winked at me and immediately buried it towards my core.
Immediately my happy moans rang out in the room.
I am horny. I think David, too, dragged my tired body back to hart manor in the wee hours of the morning while dave was still asleep.

I am Loreine Aileen Hart, the only daughter of the Hart family, which is part of the famous Golden Triangle Family, rulers of the business world in almost all of America and Southeast Asia.
My family, Jared's family and David's family, have been friends and collaborate since the time of our ancestors. The kinship and friendship ties of these three families are marked by many of the members of these three families marrying each other.
Right now, in front of my grandfather, the supreme leader of The Golden Triangle, my parents, my two older brothers, Jared and his parents--Dean and Alma Reiner, I am a criminal who is receiving judgment.
The crime I have committed is, leaving my own engagement ceremony, disappearing overnight, giving rise to rumors and speculation among bloodthirsty news seekers and this afternoon I returned with a neck full of hickey marks and lips swollen from non-stop kisses while David made me soar high into the clouds, in a wild and enjoyment all night, last night.
"I'm waiting for your explanation, Loreine Aileen Hart. What you did and why you did it."
The voice of my grandfather, Jameson Hart was harsh and loud, made me think that my heart will drop to my knees.
I turned to my father, who looked straight-faced, but I could see the corners of his eyes twitching.
Then my gaze turned to Jared, who was sitting between his parents. He looked pale and didn't seem to have slept enough. He has panda eyes.
"I called off my engagement and I no longer want to be married to Jared."
My voice was hoarse but loud, making everyone present in the room gasp.
"Loreine, what did you say?"
My mother screamed in panic, but my father grabbed her shoulders and squeezed gently as if trying to reassure her. I looked at the man I previously adored so much with disgust.
Jared stood up and approached me. His face was sad and his eyes were teary. F*ck! He is a great actor. He took my hand and held it tightly.
"No, Loreine! I still want to marry you. We have to get married, because I don't want to be the cause of our extended family being involved in an embarrassing scandal," said Jared firmly. "I don't care what you did last night or who you were with, I'm still going to marry you, Baby. I want to marry you."
I jerked his hand away feeling nauseous, because the scene I saw in the stable suddenly flashed back into my eyes. I leaned closer and whispered into his ear.
"Why? Do you know what I saw last night and why I ran away?" I hissed. "You want to marry me to cover up what you have done all this time and will probably continue to do?"
"LOREINE! STOP BEING SHAMEFUL AND FOLLOW MY ORDERS!"
Grandpa Jameson's voice boomed. He pointed at me with a sharp gaze. "You can't act as you please. You are an honorable heiress of Hart and I wouldn't want you involving yourself in a scandal that would bring down this family's reputation!"
"But I don't want to marry Jared! I don't want to be--"
"Don't be stubborn, Baby," said Jared, cutting me off. "We will still get married and I ask that the day be hastened, before something else happens."
Grandpa Jameson, who was previously very angry, now looked a little calmer. "Jared, you are a very honorable man. If you still want to continue with this marriage, then we will arrange everything quickly."
Then, everything happened quickly. My mother locked me in my room while they prepared for my wedding to Jared. They're worried that I'll run away again.
"Honey, you have to know that we are doing this for your good," persuaded my mother, on the day I had to have my wedding dress fitting. "Come on, darling, let's go try on your wedding dress."
At the number one boutique in Los Angeles, I saw several travel brochures to various countries and who knows what moved my hand, I took all the brochures and stuffed them in my bag.

I put the test pack in my hand into the backpack I placed near my feet and took two or three deep breaths before standing up and looking down at my flat stomach.
"Let's go, baby," I whispered. I stroked my stomach. "You may only be the size of a peanut in my womb now, but I will look after and protect you. I need a friend and we will get through this all together."
The sound of calls for passengers on the plane to Italy could be heard clearly when I came out of the toilet.
I took two or three deep breaths in long inhales and exhales, then took big steps towards my new life and left my broken heart here.
I will never go back.
Florence, six years later."Oh come on, Shery, my beautiful lady, there's no way you're going to camp with all that!"I am being chased by a deadline today, by my editor, Lea Mirzani, and I still have to fight with my twin kids Shane and Shery, who are leaving for camp at their school.Shane Richard Lou, my first child, is a calm child, tends to be quiet, a genius, who can never be separated from books and gadgets.Early in the morning he woke up and packed up everything he needed to camp for two days at school. He even chooses the clothes he will bring himself including his uniform, the books and board games he likes. He arranged everything neatly in a backpack. When I had checked his bag, I smiled broadly and nodded in satisfaction with my son's efforts. In contrast, his twin sister who was eight minutes younger than him, Shery Davika Lou, was a very lively and restless child, crazy about all kinds of outdoor activity and sports. She caused problems when asked to show the contents
I looked at the four children standing beside Ms. Petra - the twins, one holding the hand of a scrawny child, the other holding a stocky child's hand, all tightly hugged by an angry-looking woman."Ms. Lauren," Petra said awkwardly, "I'm sorry if I caught you off guard by addressing you like that. The thing is, the twins and—""Your ill-mannered brats pushed my son!" The woman hugging the stocky child by Ms. Petra's side suddenly snapped. She gave my shirt and jeans a dismissive once-over, and I saw the disdain in her eyes."Ms. Lauren, I heard you're unmarried. If you weren't prepared to be a single mother, you should have demanded your partner use protection instead of letting them become a menace to society!"Although I was angry at her judging my kids without knowing what we've been through, the priority now was to get to the truth. I walked over and crouched down to the shame-faced Shane and Sherry by my side. They always acted mischievous at home, but I knew how much they loved
A few days after the incident, I held a meeting with the new scriptwriters under my guidance. Despite my efforts to focus on the task at hand, the gossip among the team grew increasingly loud and distracting. It makes me annoyed."Guys, is there something that interests you more than what I'm about to explain to you?" I said in a cold voice. "Or... Would it be better if we postpone this meeting until you really make up your mind to study?"Some people looked a little embarrassed to hear my reprimand and quickly sat up straight in their chairs, trying to focus. However, I knew that in their heads, what had made them so noisy earlier was still spinning around in their brains."Alright, instead of listening to my explanation, but not having any material stick in your brains, tell me now, what made you so noisy?" I asked, finally. One of the scriptwriters, namely Maya, unable to contain her curiosity, approached me with a famous magazine in hand."Ms. Loreine, have you seen this?" she ask
This morning, as the first rays of sunlight peeked through the curtains, I went through my usual routine.Despite all the thoughts, I had a pretty good sleep last night and woke up before my alarm went off. I felt fresh and my body was in good shape in the morning.I went into the bathroom and did my personal routine while thinking about what I needed to do today. After thatI walked out of the room, walking slowly so as not to wake my children. They would wake up in about an hour.I brewed a pot of coffee and slipped into my favorite chair by the window, my daily ritual of solitude before the chaos of the day began. The coffee I brewed was delicious, but there was something else that made me not really enjoy the aroma and taste of the coffee this morning. With a sigh, I went to front garden of my house dan gathered the courage to tackle the mailbox—a task I often avoided until the last possible moment. As I opened the small, metal door, a single envelope stood out among the usual pile
David PoV"You always don't have time for me!"I stared at the woman in front of me, who was now pacing back and forth with a pouting face and her lips muttering incoherent grumbling. I had a headache and felt the need to get her out of here immediately before my patience, which was as thin as a tissue paper, ran out."Go away, Hailey, I really can't go today," I said in a tone that I deliberately made as flat as possible.I am a good actor. If only I could choose to pursue a career in that path, I would have been famous by now, as an actor I mean.I can play anything. A stingy boyfriend, a generous boss, a dutiful son, even a man who loves secretly, very well and fittingly. However, right now I am not acting. The flat tone that I used to chase Hailey out of my room was purely a reflection of my bland feelings."When do you have time for me?" Hailey protested for the umpteenth time. "We're engaged, David. I'm embarrassed because I'm always alone at events where my friends are in coup
I sat in my apartment, my heart pounding as I replayed the conversation with Jake in my mind.Jake had recently moved to Italy with his wife, Erika, and their son, Dylan, to lead the new branch of our family company there.Dylan's heart condition required treatment from a renowned cardiologist based in Italy, making the move both a business and personal necessity for Jake.I think my little brother's family feels comfortable living there, and the company led by Jake is also growing rapidly. His busyness and my work, make me rarely communicate with him lately.Just a few days ago, Jake had seen Erika talking to a woman who seemed familiar. With a shock of recognition, Jake realized she was Loreine Hart, the missing daughter of the prominent Hart family."Are you sure it's Loreine? Not just someone who looks like her?" I asked with my chest pounding like a storm was raging inside."Brother, when I saw her talking to Erika at the restaurant, I wasn't sure either because I only saw her th
I always thought that my life for the past six years was fine. I had a good job, a decent income, a pair of adorable twins, and a loyal friend. It wasn’t the life I had imagined for myself back when I was living in Los Angeles, but it was steady and predictable.Everything here was safe and comfortable. The children had their routine, I had my job, and we had a small but cozy home where laughter filled the rooms.Florence is the most comfortable place for me now and I have never regretted buying a one-way ticket to Italy at that time.I made a promise to myself when I left my house, that I would never return. And for the longest time, I kept that promise. But then, out of nowhere, my grandfather found me. Despite my efforts to disappear, to erase any trace of my past, he managed to track me down. And with a casual nonchalance as if nothing had ever happened within the Hart family since I left, he sent me a formal, handwritten invitation to his birthday party. It was impossible to refu
I knew that my reaction was all David needed to answer his question. He looked at me with a strange look in his eyes. Oh God, this is the end. This is the moment where I should apologize to him for not telling him about the twins.David has every right to them, I know that well. But what I have always been worried about is probably about to happen. He doesn't like that I gave birth to the twins and will probably demand an answer as to why I didn't abort them in the first place, instead of giving birth and raising them in the first place."David, I'm sorry, but the twins are my business and you don't have to--""Can we talk somewhere more private?"David cut me off and this time I saw his attitude stiffen, his tone also sounded cold and sharp.I think he's angry.Since I was little I've always been clingy to David and he's never once shown anything like that. He is a warm, friendly, gentle, and pleasant person. I've never once seen him upset or angry, at least not with me.However, I k
"Too busy with the pattern.""The material is hot and stiff.""Ugh, the color makes me look pale like a living corpse.""Ooh... I don't like the model, it's too revealing."Petra, Marisa, and Erika, sighed together. They slumped on the sofa and leaned against each other. I glanced and grinned at them.I was still choosing a dress from the many wedding dresses hanging, with a frown and pursed lips. I started to feel annoyed because none of the dresses felt right for me.A very pale light blue dress, tucked between several white lace dresses caught my eye. I pulled the dress off the hanger and immediately fell in love. The dress had a cheongsam-like style, with a high collar, sleeveless, heel-length, and a high slit to mid-thigh.The beautiful silver peacock motif on the smooth pale blue satin material, would sparkle when the wearer moved."I want this dress," I said, to the three exhausted women on the couch, my future in-laws.Marisa stood up quickly. "Loreine, honey, it's too plain."
"Oh my God, this is really amazing," Wendy said with tears in her eyes. "I've been anxious for days. I don't know what I'm going to do if you guys go back to Italy and I have to work with new people."I laughed and hugged Wendy tightly. Damian patted her shoulder gently. The results of the assessment from the head office had been announced. Damian and I were asked to continue leading the Los Angeles branch because we were considered to have achieved a lot. Several big clients who worked with us, were proven to increase the company's turnover with a fairly profitable value. There was a debate, seeing our good work, Damian and I, several higher-ups at the head office wanted us to be transferred to the London branch to fix the chaotic situation there. However, more people opposed the idea and thought that the London branch might be fixed if Damian and I were sent there, but the risk of the Los Angeles branch experiencing a decline in performance if it was not handled by Damian and I worr
I felt restless. Since morning my mood had been messed up and I couldn't focus on anything."Calm down, baby, I'm sure you'll get through it just fine. You've worked hard all this time and the results you've gotten are also amazing," David said, trying to calm me down with his gentle words and his hand stroking my hair.I took a deep breath, convincing myself that what he said was true. But, I still felt nervous. The assessors from the head office had arrived last night and today they would assess me and Damian after lunch.I took a deep breath several times before getting out of the car in front of the office. David smiled and squeezed my hand gently."Dave, you want to pray for me today, right?" I asked while looking at him."Of course, baby, I always pray for you without you asking me to," David replied softly.I reached out and hugged his neck tightly, trying to absorb all the good energy and enthusiasm from David to face the examiners from the head office soon.Damian greeted me
"Here's the plan," Abigail said, pushing a light blue folder in front of me and David. "Everything is written down in detail, complete with a cost breakdown and a backup plan.""But don't mind the numbers, because we've got it all covered. This is just to let you know that this is what we're trying to do for your wedding," my mother said quickly."I don't think we should have included any numbers at all," Abigail muttered."I told you before," snapped my mom.I nudged David's arm and he took the folder and opened it. I leaned in to read the contents.David held his breath and looked at me, then turned to my mother and his mother who were sitting side by side in front of us, waiting for our reactions."Mom, this is too... Uh, grand?" David said hesitantly."Of course not!" my mother quickly denied. "It was the simplest concept I could have chosen among the many other luxurious wedding options your mother offered, David. You'd be surprised if you saw the other options she offered me bef
"We're going home, mom, to my apartment," I said while combing my mother's hair which had grown longer than before, when I first visited her.At first the doctor was optimistic that my mother could go home sooner because of the progress she had made during the treatment. But, it seemed that the divorce process between her and Alexander had a big impact, even though it was what she wanted, so her condition worsened again. Now, after being tested several times, the doctor said she was ready to go home. I've talked to David, I picked her up myself and took her shopping before going back to my apartment."Why to the apartment?" David asked last night before going home. "You guys should go back home, your mom too. Just leave the apartment. My home is your home, baby."I smiled and reached out, brushing away the hair that had fallen onto David's forehead."I'll take the kids and my mom there, but after we get married. I need to be sure first," I said softly."You're still mad at me," David
Hailey's funeral procession was solemn. Quite a lot of mourners came, including grandpa Jameson, Alexander, and Liam. The Arshen family, not only Abigail and Gregory, but also several other relatives. The Reiner family, Jared was not there, all gathered in the hall of the Adam family's house, to release Hailey together.David and I brought the twins to attend the funeral. They looked a little confused but enthusiastic, seeing the process and atmosphere of the funeral. This was something new for them."Mom, does everyone here know each other?" Shery asked in a whisper.I shook my head. "I don't think so. I don't know some of the women in the corner over there, but all of these people are connected by one thing in common.""Hm? What is that?" Shery asked seriously."They all know Hailey and gathered together to release her to her final place," I answered.Shery nodded and then she whispered to Shane who seemed to be listening seriously. I turned to David, who was looking at me with a ra
"I remember everything."David, Leroy, and I exchanged glances. Hailey's voice was soft and slow, but we could hear her clearly and what she said surprised us all."W-what do you remember, honey?" Leroy asked nervously.David held Leroy's shoulder. "Leroy, you should call a doctor first, to check Hailey's condition. Loreine and I will guard here."Leroy looked nervous and confused after Hailey opened her eyes. He looked like he could go hysterical at any moment, so David tried to take control. However, after hearing David's words, Hailey pressed my hand which she had still been holding since she opened her eyes five minutes ago."No, don't call a doctor," Hailey said in a hoarse voice. "I don't need a doctor. I want you guys to just listen to me for a moment."I rubbed Hailey's hand. "You need to be checked, Hailey."Hailey shook her head stubbornly. "No need. Loreine, David, I just need to apologize to you for what I've done to you all this time. I know that you two will never be apa
"I don't like him," David grumbled for the umpteenth time. "He looks like a playboy."I sighed, for the umpteenth time too. David continued to nag about Warren even after the man and Dwight had left and we were on our way to the hospital.Leroy Adam had let me visit Hailey at the hospital and David had come to pick me up when he bumped into Warren who was about to come back into my room after coming back from the bathroom. They bumped into each other in front of my room door and got suspicious of each other until they argued. Dwight and I could only shake our heads at their behavior."David, you're being unreasonable," I said in a tone of annoyance that I deliberately made audible. "Warren and I just met today. When you bumped into him at the door, he had only been in for about ten minutes and asked to go to the bathroom. He was with my client, Dwight.""He seemed very attentive to you, for only being in for ten minutes," David said. His voice was a little softer. Maybe because he sen
"Can I visit her?"David looked at me. He seemed hesitant. I, myself, said that spontaneously, responding to David's story about Hailey being treated in the hospital because her condition suddenly declined, last night."I'll ask Leroy, I mean, Hailey's father. I have no right to decide because it's not my authority," David replied after a while."You didn't get enough sleep," I said while wiping under David's eyes with my thumb."Yes. Leroy doesn't want me to leave. He said he wasn't sure he could support himself if something happened to Hailey. I stayed with him until this morning," David responded in a tired tone. "I could only leave after I said I had to attend a meeting with a client."I adjusted my sitting position and turned David's body so that his back was to me and then started massaging his shoulders.David groaned softly, as I touched his stiff muscles. "Oh God, I really want all of this to end soon," David said. "But, do you know, baby, that kind of thinking makes me feel
