I am sorry for not updating since Thursday guys, I ended up in hospital till this morning (Sunday) Everyone knows it's been a stressful few months since June and I seem to have been constantly unwell ever since. Wed night and Thursday I had bad headaches which I have had for a few weeks now and thought it was flu or something. Lost my eyesight in places on Thursday though and ended up having a few non epileptic seizures. All down to stress and pain. So I have had a lot of help and support and am hoping to start to feel better now. I am taking it easy AND as I have been signed off work for a week as my BP is very low this means one thing… food, rest and… updates! Thanks for being patient with me. I am so lucky to have such understanding readers!
Kane's POV"Looks like even hellhounds can bleed," Sebastian sneered, standing over Knox's fallen form. My heart lurched at the sight of my brother collapsing, blood pooling beneath him. Without a second thought, I rushed to his side in my wolf form, my paws skidding on the slick stone floor as I cl
Kane POV"Knox!" I shouted, rushing to his side in a blind panic. My heart hammered in my chest as I dropped to my knees beside him. "Let me see," I urged, trying to pry his hand away to assess the wound. The sight of so much blood made my stomach churn."Didn't... see it coming," he gasped, breathi
Lottie's POVThe tunnel walls seemed to close in around me as we walked, the damp air heavy with an unnameable tension. Astaroth led the way with an assured stride, his silhouette cutting a sharp figure against the dim glow emanating from ahead. Nera—no longer Fluffy—kept pace at my side, her presen
Lottie's POVSuddenly, a loud crack echoed through the chamber as the tunnel behind us began to collapse. Dust billowed out, and the ground trembled violently beneath our feet. Stones and rubble tumbled down, threatening to seal off our only exit. My eyes widened in alarm as I realised we might be t
Lottie's POV"Surely, the more I know about myself, the more I can protect myself. Then you can stay in hell and torture those poor souls for shits and giggles," I snorted while eyeing the ceiling as dust trickled down behind Astaroth."Now is not the time..." He continued to preach the same nonsens
Knox's POVDarkness enveloped me like a thick fog, heavy and impenetrable. Voices echoed somewhere in the distance, muffled and indistinct. I tried to focus, to latch onto any sound that could anchor me, but it was like grasping at smoke.A sharp sting jolted me briefly into consciousness. Blurred s
Liam's POVThe searing white light swallowed us whole, and for a moment, it felt as though we were suspended in nothingness. Then, just as abruptly, the brilliance faded, leaving us in a dim haze. My stomach churned violently as if my insides had been twisted and wrung out. A throbbing pain pulsed b
Lottie POVAdam's confession and insight had touched me deeply, I appreciated his vulnerability and honesty but the fact was, I had already gambled so much on the lives of the people I loved, was I ready to do it again."But I can't trust him," I admitted after a moment, biting my lip to stop the te
"I didn't get anything," I confirmed, shooting a quick look at Liam, to see him checking his phone for the millionth time this hour."He mindlinked the entire pack last night—" She shifted her weight, and her confusion quickly turned to alarm. "Everyone was told we were under attack. Apparently, he'
Kane POV"What do you mean?" I stiffened, a flicker of confusion sparking in my mind."When I finally came to bed last night—" Her tone was biting, letting us know she'd been up longer than usual. "—I found the place trashed. Sheets torn off, furniture toppled, the room absolutely wrecked. But your
Kane POVThe thick, fertile scent of damp grass filled my nose. Our family's sprawling garden, with its cobblestone paths and neatly trimmed shrubs, might've looked serene to an outsider, but I could feel the tension radiating from my brothers. Adam and Liam slumped at the wrought-iron table near th
"I'm listening." He spread his hands in a silent invitation, leaning on the statue. A wave of nausea rolled through me. My jaw set tight, and I pushed the words out before I lost my nerve. "Connie," I began, "and Lily. Years ago, they attended a camp." I paused, the memory stabbing at me. "My daugh
Adam POVI stood in the garden with my back against an old oak, trying my best to calm the pounding in my chest. Dawn had turned the sky into a wash of soft oranges, but none of us felt any serenity from it. The overnight drama and then the issue with Connie had left an acrid taste in my mouth, and
Connie POV “I—my childhood wasn’t… look, it doesn’t matter. I just learned real fast that if I didn’t claw my way to the top, I’d be stomped on. So I do what I need to. I guess Adam sees it as manipulation, but it’s survival for me.” I wiped my cheeks, letting my voice quiver. He studied my face, l
Connie POV My heart hammered as Chase guided me out of the kitchen, his hand firm around my waist. I could practically feel the tension still clinging to my skin, left behind by Adam's furious glare. That confrontation had jolted me badly, far more than I cared to admit. Yet the shock of seeing Cha
"You will show her respect, Kane… remember who the fuck I am! I am no alpha, No friend; I am a sparrow brother, and as such, you will mind your fucking tongue, or I will remove it... with my teeth," I warned a smug-looking Kane. I knew he got it. After all, Kane had hammered our plan into place. He
Chase POV "She nearly cost Lottie everything. She's messed with filth, spilled secrets, toyed with hearts she had no business touching." Adam cut through the easing tension. My chest rattled with anger. I'd lose my composure if I'd thought of Connie's acts too deeply. So I channeled that fury into
