Stella- POV

I couldn't help but cry when I saw the video where my adoptive parents were killed. It became clear that Macoy and the rogues were just there to make the crime more brutal and chaotic. Kellan was the last person to meet my parents, and I saw in the video how shocked and confused they were when they found the indoor camera and the missing CCTV footage. This is why the CCTV footage was missing from the crime scene. I also heard that Macoy and the rogues were actually from the Night Angel pack, not rogues. Kellan had said something I couldn't quite hear, but whatever he promised, the fact that he killed my parents shook me to the core. I couldn't even reach Julie.

"Stop crying!" I jumped at Kellan's voice, and a wave of goosebumps broke out on my body.

"How can I stop? You killed my parents. Why did you do that?" I asked.

"I didn't kill your parents. Your biological father wanted it. He was my client who wanted your parents to die and paid good money for it," Kellan said.

Stella – POVMy eyes took in the sight of a woman who looked to be in her sixties, her hair a silvery grey, yet without a single wrinkle marring her face. “Meet my mother, Mia.” I recognized her instantly. Kellan had shown me pictures of his mother, whom he had been close to. He never spoke of the circumstances of her death, and I hadn't asked, knowing it pained him deeply.“How is she alive?” I asked, trying to hide the tremor in my voice under her intense, scrutinizing gaze.“Son, let me handle this,” she said softly. Despite her calm demeanour, a sense of unease settled in my stomach. Something felt very wrong.“Mother, remember the promise: no harming her,” Kellan whispered so low that only my enhanced hearing, a benefit of learning magic, caught it. Kellan didn't know about my heightened senses.“You have my word,” Mia whispered back. Kellan cast one last look at me before exiting the room and closing the door behind him.“Daughter-in-law, Stella, it’s a pleasure meeting you in p

Damon-POVI remained in the safety of my pack's territory, sending Dexter and a group of soldiers to Kellan's penthouse in New York. Julie and Dexter were tasked with monitoring any movements at Kellan's other apartments in the city. If Stella was hidden in one of these locations, they would find her. Kellan owned many properties, and we had to inspect them all. "Your plan to stay back and do nothing is foolish," Kayden snapped."It's the best way to keep everyone in the pack alive," I responded, scoffing at his impatience."You don't care about Stella at all?" Kayden's furious eyes and exasperated sigh met my silence. "You are not worthy of Stella's heart," he declared suddenly, making me look at him in shock. How did he know Stella had feelings for me?"Don't act surprised, asshole. I heard her confess her feelings to you at the party," Kayden answered, wearing my confusion on his face. My fists clenched as I remembered how cold I was to her that night, watching her cry. I had to di

Damon -POVA sudden howling broke through the middle of the night, and I quickly rolled out of bed. I sniffed the air; it smelled rotten, like dead people brought back to life. I shuddered at the thought. The Night Angel pack signified death brought back to life in lycan scriptures. My phone rang just before I ran toward the border of my pack. It was Kayden calling. “What?” I snapped.“We're under attack.”“Put Plan B into action and position your army accordingly. My brother doesn't know about our alliance, which can catch them off guard. Also, they are dead people under someone’s control,” I explained, because my brother doesn’t have the dark Selene skill, and I was sure of it.“What are you talking about?”“Night Angels mean death brought back to life in lycan scriptures, and we are fighting puppets with immense power of darkness.”“Shit, I'll alert my army about the enemies we’re up against,” Kayden replied. I disconnected the call and mind-linked my soldiers as well. Then, I ran

Damon -POVI fought through the dense fog, my soldiers struggling against the relentless enemy. The Night Pack's resilience was unnerving; killing them was futile as they kept reviving. Our numbers dwindled, and poison coursed through my soldiers' veins, incapacitating us. The fog contained a slow-acting toxin that prevented us from shifting back to our lycan forms, forcing us into close combat."How am I going to get us out of this?" I muttered, dodging attacks as they came. Kellan, who had been missing, was still nowhere to be found. I grimaced as a punch landed out of nowhere, pain radiating through my body."You missed me, brother," Kellan's smug voice echoed as I stood, his smirk taunting me."Where have you been hiding, like a coward?" I spat blood, glaring at him. His smirk never wavered."Watching you suffer. Enjoying it," he chuckled. Kellan, my brother, once warm and understanding, now radiated hatred. Damon’s eyes were filled with amusement as they locked onto mine. “You’re both cute and sexy,” he murmured, a playful purr in his voice. “I’d love to take you up on that offer, Stella, and devour you.” My breath hitched as his long index finger traced a line across my skin, sending shivers down my spine. His head lowered to kiss me. Another knock interrupted the moment. “Hey guys, I’ve got news,” Julie’s voice called from the other side of the door. I groaned in frustration, and Damon chuckled at my reaction. I felt a wave of self-consciousness, like a teenager caught in an intimate moment. Damon pulled away, allowing Julie to enter while he went to tend to the breakfast. Julie looked at me with a warm sm

Stella – POV**Six months later**It’s become a morning routine for Olivia and me to take strolls together. Since Julie is visiting her parents now that the threat has diminished, I hope her parents will be happy, and that Julie will have the courage to speak the truth about the shifter world. I’m sure they won’t believe it at first, but she wants to be honest and not hide anything, especially since she plans to marry Dexter and stay with the pack.
