chapter seventy-six

Tyler POV

Emily looked at the phone and then turned pale. She glanced up at the large glass window, handed me the phone, and left, closing all the curtains in the room.

I looked at the screen and felt my blood drain from my body. I took Olivia out of her position and brought her close to me.

"They're back," Emily said, trembling in fear.

"Don't worry; you two are safe," I tried to calm her, but it was nearly impossible since I also shuddered at the content of the message.

"Calm me down? I'll pretend I didn't hear that," she said, sitting next to me and watching our daughter sleep peacefully.

I didn't say anything to avoid an argument and called the house security, asking them to make sure everything was okay.

"I'll wait for them to give me an update, and I'll have someone from here take you home."
