chapter one hundred and seventeen

Tyler POV

"Are you working tomorrow?" I ask Emily, who was probably looking for her skin cream, which I have in my hand.

"It was supposed to be my shift today, so yes, I am, and I'll be going early," she responds.

"You're always working," she grumbles, annoyed.

"I stayed home for two weeks," I reply, rolling my eyes.

"That doesn't count; you were just itching to get back to work."

She had just come out of the shower, wrapped in a towel, drops of water still clinging to her shoulders. It was incredibly sexy.

"Will David be okay?" I ask, remembering that Ethan's son was still in the hospital.

"He'll need care, but he'll recover," she says thoughtfully.

"I'm sorry for being an idiot," I say, stifling a laugh; it was amusing to see her rummaging through the vanity and drawers looking for her cream.

"You're not an idiot, Tyler, you just trust Ethan too much," she shrugs, annoyed.

"And you trust Caroline too much!" I retort, irritated.
