LAUREN'S POV

Jada was equally angry, and her emotions were palpable.

"Mate is cheating on us, and I hate him!" She said to me. Her voice was full of venom.

"We don't need him." I replied, trying to convince myself, because my first encounter with my mate had been unpleasant.

"How could he flaunt his mistress shamelessly in public! He is not a good man." I said to my wolf, "The power radiating from him told me that he was an Alpha."

"I don't care if he is an alpha or not. To me he is an asshole.” My wolf angrily said to me.

I tried to make small talk with my friends, pretending that everything was okay, but I was crushed inside.

Who was this handsome devil who had broken my heart on the first day of meeting him?

Jada was so angry that she wanted to jump on the girl in his arms and rip off her head.

"I told you, Jada, that we don't need him. Look at him. He is happy in the arms of another woman."

"That's why he never looked for us.” Jada said.

"It hurt to see him with another woman but let's forget him now Jada. "

"Let's focus rather on our plans to reclaim our pack from that wicked man, now that we've been exposed." Jada said to me. I know she was right.

"I can see someone has found her mate!" Bruce said to me, and Almira opened her mouth wide in shock.

"Is that him, Lauren?" She asked, and I nodded.

"Girl go and let your presence known, you are supposed to be in his arms not that lady!" Almira said to me.

The bad friend chipped in.

“Guys I don't need him. I don't need a man like that in my life.” I tried to convince them.

"Baby girl, you can pretend to everyone that you are not hurt but I know you are hurt. And it is normal." Bruce said to me.

“I’m not hurt Bruce. I’m okay.”

"Damn your mate is hot and he looks like some badass Alpha!" Almira said.

"Keep lying to yourself that you are not hurt by your badass mate Lauren." Bruce said to me, and I ignored them.

I turned my head only to see my mate staring at me intensely with no emotions.

Why is he staring at me?

To make me happy, Bruce decided to take me and Almira to another shop.

I'm not a typical tomboy, because I still adore dresses, but there's something about slipping into a pair of male outfits that makes me feel like I can conquer the world!

And this time, I decided to go shopping for dresses.

A helpful attendant noticed us when we stepped into the shop and offered assistance.

I fell in love with a white dress with a v-neck and open back instantly I set my eyes on it. Even Bruce approved my choice.

We all found our outfits and left with shopping bags.

It was a great experience shopping with friends, it made me forget what I saw earlier.

Stepping into the big hall of our pack where parties are held.

I walked in with my elder brother Jack; everyone turned their neck to see us.

My brother is a gorgeous man who hardly stays in our pack. Most females wish he was their mate or boyfriend.

But said he would only wait for his mate.

"You look stunning Lauren." Griffen the future Alpha said to me.

A few pack members complimented my outfit as well.

I was enjoying the party till a familiar intoxicated scent hit my senses.

What is this man doing here?

I turned my back to face the entrance where five handsome men and two ladies walked in.

The one that stood tall among them, handsome in every aspect is no other person than my mate.

He walked in while the rest followed him.

I watched him walk towards the elders of our pack while they exchanged greetings.

"Isn’t that you mate, Lauren? " Almira whispered but I ignored her.

A few minutes later, our Alpha introduced him and his pack.

This shocked me to my bone. My mate is no other person than Alpha Logan.

The notorious alpha, the one I am waiting to talk to.

How can this be possible? I thought Alpha Logan was a very scary man with scars all over his face.

But what am seeing here is a charming man with a powerful aura.

Should I consider our mate bond, it will be to my advantage but who is that lady to him?

I realised my mate had been staring at me from the moment he entered the venue with his people and my heart skipped a beat when our eyes met.

I don't know if what I saw in his eyes was love but the truth is that he has occupied my thoughts from the first time I smelled that amazing scent of my mate.

I was a little excited to see him but confused and hurt because of what happened at the shop.

I thought Alpha Logan was an old-looking ugly man. How can this young and handsome man have such a reputation?

If the rumors about his cruelty are true, I am not innocent either. I am cruel just like him, so I have no right to condemn him.

"I can feel your excitement girl, someone is in love, it seems I am not the only one excited here.” Jada said to me.

“I am excited that our mate and Alpha Logan was the same person but I doubt he will accept the mate bond since he is with another lady Jada.”

“Lauren, you will never know if you don't try.”

“You know why I don't want to consider the mate bond in the first place?” I asked her.

“Yes I know but I think you should reconsider because you and I know that we can't resist this charming man looking our way.”

I've never had the intention to get myself involved in this mate bond because I am afraid of the hurt that comes along with it when something goes wrong.

I also feel it will make me lose focus. I don't want anything to come between my aim of getting revenge and my destiny.

I walked to where the bar was, and I asked the bartender for two shots of vodka. I just wanted to clear my head because this mate bond and the new revelation about Alpha Logan is too much for me. I need to clear my head before I take any action.

“Lauren I think you should go and talk to Alpha Logan. It is important you talk to him.” Jada encouraged.

“Jada, I need Alpha Logan but I don't want to involve myself with our mate now, especially after I've witnessed him and that lady kiss.”

"Lauren don't be stubborn! Do you think he will sit around waiting for a mate? He is not sure he is going to find all his life without a girlfriend."

“Are you supporting him against me, Jada?”

“I’m not Lauren and you know that! I want you to try to understand him. He is an alpha you know and you know how sexually active they are.”

I decided to look for him so that we could settle this once and for all. I searched through the crowd, but I couldn't find him anywhere.

"Looking for me, little mate?" I heard the sexiest voice ever in my head.

How is that even possible?

I froze, how did he mind-link me? He is not from our pack so how did he do it?

"Look ahead my love."

That's the most husky and enchanted voice I have ever heard.

I did a happy dance in my head when he called me my love, as if I wasn't a tough warrior, but a little girl.

I then heard him saying, "Follow the guy standing in front of you. He will lead you to where I am."

How could I refuse?
