LAUREN'S POV

Bruce asked in disbelief, "Lauren, how did you do that? You killed thirty-one rogues in wolf form while you are in human form within a few minutes!"

One of the warriors was impressed and asked, "Girl, your level of speed is abnormal!”

"I saw your movements and your speed, I’m hundred percent sure that it's unlike any normal wolf. Who are you?" Another warrior asked.

Despite their questions, I remained silent and didn't respond.

"Let's go back to the pack." I finally said, leading the way.

On our way home I saw Sienna and the warrior who reported seeing the rogues. At the moment they saw us, they ran off as if they'd seen a ghost.

"Why are they running?" Bruce asked and everyone became suspicious of the two.

" I guess they have something to do with the attack.” Another warrior said.

"Maybe Sienna lured that guy into this mess, and I believe she has something to do with the attack." One of the warriors said and two of the warriors ran after Sienna and the warrior.

"Can Sienna be so desperate to the extent that she could put the pack in danger?" I asked the fighters I was walking home with.

" I guess she did that to put you in danger Lauren. She is aware you are in charge of the security around the boundaries and you are the first person to be called in case of any emergency." Bruce said.

That explains it. I thought.

I felt something was not wrong while we approached the pack. I suddenly sensed the scent of my mother nearby.

I excused myself and ran off in search of her, I ran towards the direction of her scent but what I saw made my blood boil.

A big black wolf, who supposed to be an Alpha, was trying to strangle my mum to death. She was all covered in blood.

“What the…”

The wolf transformed into a big man before me, and the man look fit and strong.

I jumped on the man; he was well-built with his tactics. I realized he was an alpha with years of training.

He had a big scale stretching from his face to his neck and he had a tattoo on his arm like a tribal mark.

I would have taken him down easily if I were in my wolf form, but I can't. I don't want to expose myself yet.

My mum needed medical attention and I needed to get rid of the man before I could rush my mum to the hospital, but the man was not someone to mess with.

It took me a longer period to get the upper hand, I was about to finally kill him when he opened up.

"Please don't kill me yet, I now understand why I was paid to kill you, but I can't kill you. If you let me go, I will be indebted to you forever, you are going to need my help someday.”

He added, "I will come to you when you need help. You need to train more. Let me go and I will be of help to you.”

I thought about what he said, and then I nodded, “Fine.”

Even if I continued, I wouldn't be able to kill him, so I ran to my mum's side.

"Lauren, train more and be careful. Don't describe me to anyone. I am not your enemy."

I mind-linked my brother and father when I was fighting the man after he said those words, he ran off covered in blood.

I don't know why I believe this man. It seems I have a connection with him.

My mum was taken to the hospital, and I somehow blamed myself for what happened. She got hurt because of me.

I could have killed the man instantly if I was strong enough.

The pack's perception of me shifted, from a wolfless girl to a protector.

Everyone now believed in my strength even without a wolf even future Alpha Griffin acknowledged my strength and resilience.

"You've earned my respect Lauren, and I am sorry for what I made you go through.” He confessed, and our friendship began from there. We train together sometimes.

My mum spent a few days in the hospital before she was discharged. Due to her Alpha blood, she recovered more quickly than we thought.

During this period, another thing caught our attention.

Alpha Logan, the Alpha of the Snow Moon pack, is set to arrive in our pack today.

Rumors of his ruthlessness and power swirled through the air. I heard those rumors when I was taking care of my mum at the hospital.

Despite my reservations, I recognized the importance of alliances.

I know having Alpha Logan as an ally would be beneficial for me and my father's pack.

I planned to look my best at the upcoming party in honour of Alpha Logan, hoping to make a good impression and speak with him.

However, his reputation for being scary made me think twice about meeting him .

Feeling stressed out, I decided to pay attention to something else.

I gave myself a day off and I asked my friends to go shopping with me for the party held to welcome Alpha Logan and his people.

When my friends and I entered the shop, my wolf began to act strangely.

"What's wrong, Jada?" I asked.

"Mate is here!” Jada said excitedly. I scanned the room for him, but he was nowhere to be seen.

"Jada, you're imagining things. Maybe you're so desperate to meet him that you think he is here." I tried to reassure her.

But deep down, I also had a desire to meet him.

At the same time, I prayed that I wouldn't run into him anytime soon. I knew well that I had my own things to do, and revenge was the priority.

Suddenly, I caught a whiff of an intoxicating smell.

I turned towards the direction of the scent and saw an incredibly handsome man locked in a passionate kiss with another woman.

My heart sank.

I had never felt so hurt and devastated before.

I thought I only cared about revenge and a man would never hurt me like that. I even joked that I am a feelingless woman, a feelingless warrior but.

I didn't know that finding my mate with another woman could be so painful.

"Is he the same person who came to our pack? " Jade roared angrily.

I was too sad to respond.
