Zain's pov.

I had surrounded myself with work so I could be busy to not think about her anymore. She was my mate yet, I hardly see her.

I didn't attend family dinner and I stopped asking or caring about that. The fact that I hurt her and I had no one to talk too about me made me a monster. I started getting angry unnecessarily and spent most of my days in the office.

"Son?" My dad pushed open the office door and walked into the office. He seemed concerned about his tone.

"Are you alright?" He asked and I nodded, not wanting to share what I was feeling with anyone.

"You don't seem fine." His words came to me and I frowned. He was right, I wasn't fine but I wasn't going to admit it to him.

"What's going on between you and your mate?" He took a seat on the chair opposite me and relaxed his back on the chair rest, staring at me with observing gazes.

"Nothing dad, I just want to focus on work, that's all." I lied, picking up the documents that were on the table as my eyes scanne
