Chapter 2

I could hear and feel the indignation coming from the girls. But I could especially feel the wrath of Rebekah.

"But Alpha what about me?!" She growled angrily and marched towards me to attack but the nearby officer restricted her.

"Calm yourself woman!"

Another officer rushed towards me as the Alpha walked out the door.

"Come with me," he instructed and I nodded glumly, feeling as though I were in a dream.

As we walked out the door and strolled down the hallway, my heart thumped in my chest and I wondered if the Alpha could hear it.

It took only a few minutes until we reached the Alpha's chamber. By then, the officer stayed out while I followed the Alpha to his inner court.

While the Alpha started taking off his clothes, I was worried as to what to do.

"Why are you just standing there?" 

I looked up from my trembling hands and to the Alpha's stern face.

"W-well," I bowed my head shyly, refusing to look at his well chiesled chest which shone so brightly at me.

I was indeed a virgin, like Rebekah had guessed.

Even though my Chasity was something I prided myself in, I didn't mind giving it up for my mate. It was all worth it.

So I tore off my clothes, letting them drop to the ground until I was bare in front of him.

I saw the frankness in his eyes overcome with lust before he slammed me into the nearby wall, kissing me passionately before devouring me in bed.

It was an overflow of impossible loving feelings I'd never felt before. It was my first of firsts. And I didn't feel nervous at all, because he was mine.

*** The next day

I woke up with the sheets ruffled on my skin. Next to me was my mate, sleeping so soundly. Without thinking I reached to caress his face— At the same time, his eyes fluttered open and upon seeing my hand, slapped it off.

My cheeks flushed and I bowed my head watching as he hurriedly left the bed and picked up a pair of jeans and throw them on.

"W-wait," I said in a desperate whisper as I sat up on my bed, grasping the blanket so it was covering my Bossoms.

"We're… mates. So why—"

"—Is there anything I need you for other than your body?"

My heart… I clutched it tight feeling incredibly broken by his statement.

"You're my mate?" He scoffed as he gave me a side glare, "What a joke! I don't even feel that close to you. So you better not tell this embarrassing thing to the others." With that, he walked out the door leaving me to break down into tears.

"What's with her? She hasn't stopped being moody since she went to spend the night at the Alpha's."

"Who knows? Maybe he doesn't like her." 

"Hmm, she looks like she smells—"

"—It doesn't even matter at this point, Rebekah would make her life a living hell no joke."

As if on cue, Rebekah made it to my line of view causing me to sigh.

"What do you want—"

"—You wench!" I was interupted by a hard slap on my cheek.

My eyes widened as I finally noticed the look on Rebekah's face. It was of fear, hate, anger and helplessness all at once. I broke down and fell to my knees but it wasn't out of fear or helplessness, it was that of compassion.

If I were her, I'd probably do this too, so I didn't blame her. It was easy to fall in love with the Alpha and somehow, it made me happy that someone like Rebekah would fight for the Alpha. He was indeed something. I wasn't certain if she deserved his love but one thing I knew for sure, my mate was a great Alpha, if I was to be by his side, I would have to have some guts if not like Rebekah's then at least similar, but I didn't.

Upon seeing my unmoving posture on the floor, Rebekah scoffed and walked off.

Rose, the girl that had been trying to reassure me since I returned from the Alpha's room rushed towards me and helped me up.

"Hey, are you okay?"

I sighed, looking at her friendly innocent face for the first time.

She was pale with flushed cheeks and Auburn hair, a true beauty. Even someone like her could attract the Alpha. It wasn't too long before I started to feel insecure. My mate was surrounded by so many beautiful women, what made me think he would just settle for me?

"Leave me alone," I pushed Rose away and stormed off in annoyance. 

The restroom was the only place where I could cry in peace.

A few days later, during nighttime I heard the Alpha was going to choose someone to bed so I was arranged in the main hall as well as the other girls, with our heads bowed.

The Alpha stepped in once again in all of his glory and power.

A part of me anticipated his touch underneath my chin but as he passed me by, I felt a blow in my heart. But a sense of anger engulfed me when he lifted up Rose's face and smiled at her.

Rose also stared at him with that parted lips of hers, her Bambi eyes melting into his seductively and innocently.

"You're beautiful," he whispered in her ear, and she blushed before following him out of the door.

As soon as they were gone, I heard someone say, "It seems Rebekah is no longer the favourite seeing as he replaced her with Adriana, and now, Rose."

Rebekah sneered at the girl that had just spoken, "Just give it some time, he'll come back to me! Adriana and Rose only attracted him because they're fresh faces, by the time he gets bored of them I'll be the only one in his mind."

I could not say I did not believe Rebekah as I turned away to my room. I was indeed only a source of entertainment for the Alpha for a night. And indeed, it'd earned me a quite lavish room in the palace but at the expense of my heart and chasity.
