Chapter three

(Nath's pov)

        My name is Nathaniel but I prefer being called Nath, I am the third son of the Alpha of the blood moon pack

I have two elder brothers but non of them wants to be Alpha

My eldest brother is in New York living the best life anyone can dream of

While my second older brother is somewhere out there doing god knows what

The Alpha responsibilities can be passed on from sibling to sibling, so my older brothers decided that I should take all of them

The thing about having a younger one is that you have a choice

You can decide to pass on your responsibilities to your younger one

And that's what my elder brothers did

Non of them wanted to be Alpha they all wanted to be free

But I being the youngest I have no choice

The blood moon pack is said to be the biggest and strongest pack in our country

My father has been Alpha of the pack for thirty years now, he became Alpha when he won the Alpha contest against his father my grandfather

The way things run in my pack is different from the other packs

Our customs and rule are quite different from the rules of the other packs

In order for me to be Alpha I'll have to win my father in a duel

I can't fight my father, not that I am afraid of loosing or anything but I don't know what kind of a son I'll be if I win

I don't want to be the type of son who will fight his father just for power 

Well, when I get to that bridge I'll cross it

There are many other things I'll need to do if I am to become Alpha, things like going to the national college for shifters and finding my mate

Most shifters that don't find their mate may decide to take a chosen mate in other to have pups

But for the Alpha of our pack we can't have a chosen mate if we can't find our original mate

My father says that our destined mates are sacred and they make us stronger

I'll be turning sixteen in a few months and I have been having signs of shifting

My father says that it's because I am the son of an Alpha so my wolf gets woken earlier than the wolf of other shifters

Today will be my first day at the college and I am pretty sure that I'll regret going there

I hate school, all the kids from my old school never talk about anything reasonable

They are always talking about video games, football, and new girls

I hate all those stuffs I am more like a nice food, chess, and tv shows kinda guy

We are in the twenty first century for gods sake, why won't they talk about something else except from sports and girls

"When are you going to get your lazy butt down here?" I heard my dad call from downstairs

Ya my dad, the one person in my life I like but don't like

My dad is annoying to say the least, he shouts at me for literally everything I do

He wants me to be perfect, he say I can't afford to make mistakes

"You are going to be Alpha and you'll lead this pack someday, so you have to do everything right" he is always saying this to me like it's an anthem

I hate it when he says that but what can I do I have no other choice than be the Mr perfect that he wants me to be

"I'll be there in a minute dad" I shouted back

Our pack has a mind link but I don't know why he doesn't use that

Maybe he just want to make a noise or something

I walked down the stairs and almost got hit by some wolf pups that were playing tag

I live in the pack house, it's kinda link our castle

The kids of my dad's beta, gamma and some other high ranked pack members

"Watch where you are going" I scolded them

"Sorry Nathaniel" they shouted back without stopping or looking back

I went up straight to the kitchen and when I got there I met with my dad

He just glared at me for being a bit late

But to be honest I am really late

"good morning dad" I greeted trying to lighten up the atmosphere

"get something to eat I'll be dropping you in school today, meet me in the car in five minutes... and don't be late this time" he said and walked out of the kitchen

I walked up to the diner table and picked up an apple then followed behind him because I didn't want to run after his car while he drove off without me

He actually did it once in middle school, I told me to meet up in the car in ten minutes and I was late

When I came out to the driveway he was already driving away without me so I had I run after him

My dad can really be a pain in the ass

I walked into the car and sat in the back sit while his beta sat in front with him

"Do I have to go to the college? You can just teach me what I need to know"  I complained

"Going to the college isn't some kind of decision you have to make, its compulsory to go there, if you don't you will be termed a rogue.. I don't want the next alpha of this pack to be a rogue"

"Not like I ever make any decisions for my self" I said under my breath but my dad has super hearing so he heard it

"Nathaniel, I know that all this is a lot but with time you'll see that it's best for you" he said

And now he is doing his 'I understand' dad stunt

I just rolled my eyes and put on my headphones.

He started the car and drove towards the college.
