Do you think it is time? Is she going to have the baby after all of the excitement of the day or is it a false alarm? Let me know what you are thinking of the book so far. I love reading the comments.
Elle uses the elements of air and water to create a floating bed of water that will carry me back to our house. Being surrounded by witches is the best place for a deliver. The werewolves have always delivered in the pack but the witches have better ways of keeping the mothers alive. They have instincts and powers that nobody else can manage. With this baby being a hybrid I figure that I am going to need all of the help that I can get if I am, in fact, in labor at this moment. I still am not quite sure I am in labor but at this point I am not sure that I am not in labor either. These stomach pains far outrank the last ones that I had. "How are you doing Laina?" Elle asks as we continue our walk, or float in my case."I am doing okay." I struggle to get out as another pain hits."How bad are the pains?" She asks me."Not terrible. Just like a knife being shoved into my stomach and then twisted. Not too bad though." I say with false enthusiasm."Well you are either in false labor or
It does not take long for us to figure out that I am not actually in labor yet. I expected as much but when the contractions almost completely stopped in an hour I was more than ready to find a way back to the pack house."Are you really going to stay there until you have the baby?" Hazel asks as she joins me in my room."Yes, maybe a little after as well. I have been thinking about having a few witches stay in Elle's house to help Chelsea with her training and to be closer for when I do go into labor. I do not need the entire Coven but it would not hurt to have a few close by at all times." I explain."I am sure that there will be plenty of volunteers. Did you have anyone in mind that you want there?" She asks."I think that we should have shifts of witches. That way nobody is away from their normal life for too long. I know that I want Fiona there for the first couple of days since she has been bonding with Chelsea so much. As the only other shapeshifter she will also be able to he
Elle has finally relented enough to allow me to walk to the lake to speak with Rojo before we head back to the pack house. She still insists on helping me during the walk to the pack house since it is so much longer but it feels good to be able to walk to the lake. Rojo is nowhere in sight when I arrive at the water's edge but as soon as I place my toe in the water he begins swimming up towards the surface. As his back breaches the water I find a smile forming on my face. I have not had as much time to spend with him as I would like in recent months. I move slowly through the water so that I can run my hand along his back. He swims in circles around me once I get deep enough in the lake. The water is nice and warm today. I debate on swimming for a while but Dante is waiting on me to go back to the pack house. "So, I hope that you remember Chelsea. I brought her and her friend to meet you not long ago." I begin our conversation. He sends me back a picture of her in his head to let m
"I am so happy to have you back here. I was worried about you." Dante says when we finally make it back to the pack house. Most of the trip I floated with Elle's help but I did walk once I reached the edge of the pack's territory as well as as we were leave the Witch's territory. It was nice walking but It was also nice not to have to make the entire walk. My legs are beginning to tire and my stomach cramps a little more after I walk a while."I am glad to be back once again. It will be nice to relax. I just do not want to be stuck in the bedroom until I have the baby." I admit to him."I have a surprise for you. You will not have to be stuck in the bedroom. You will not be able to go up the steps nonstop but we can make sure that you are resting plenty without giving up your life." Dante says.I look at him in curiousity as he leads me towards the rec room. Once we reach it my eyes are immediately drawn towards a large bed in the middle of the floor facing the television set. I can
Frank and Chelsea arrive just as Dante begins to carry out plates full of pork chops, baked macaroni and cheese, and green beans. It all smells fantastic and I cannot wait to dig in. I just do not know how I am supposed to act around my father now that I know his memories are back I am no longer as sure of how I am supposed to greet him."Laina, you had us worried." Frank says walking towards me.Chelsea is walking at his side and gives him a look that says he was the only one really worrying. She is all but skipping as she walks up to me and jumps on the bed to hug me. I let out a grunt as I pull her close. Frank looks as if he wants to pull her off of me but I wave him off. I love that she felt comfortable enough to jump on my bed and hug me after how our day went."I am sorry. I guess it was just a little too much excitement for one day. My body did not know what to do." I admit."I did not mean to put that much stress on you. The memories came out of nowhere and I could not help b
"What do you mean the first time that she transformed into her wolf? Most pups do that from inside the womb." Dante asks confused. "If you have not noticed, your mate is a little different than other wolves. She still has all of the traits that the werewolves have but she was much different than the other pups. At first, we feared that she might not be able to transform into her wolf at all. Even with the promises that the Moon Goddess gave we were finding it hard to keep our hopes up. One day, we went out to the woods. We made sure to always teach her basic survival skills for the outdoors in case anybody attacked us. Hopefully, it managed to serve her well in the future. Anyways, we took her out to the woods to work on some basic skills. When we got outside we immediately went to the creek in the woods. We were planning to teach her how to catch fish and prepare them for a meal. Everything that we had taught her up to this point had been how to survive as a human. Not a werewolf
I cannot help but blush a little at Frank's praise of me. It still seems odd coming from him after everything that we went through recently. To know that he no longer feels any type of resentment towards me and that he remembers everything is a huge relief. At least now I can finally have some of my childhood back. Even if it is all tainted. "So, back to the story of Laina and the hunters, I feel as if I could almost picture her doing that. Now, she would not have to run at them as she could use her powers but even before she knew that she was a witch she was feisty." Dante says with a chuckle to lighten the mood. I share a smile with him and then glance over at Chelsea and Frank. She seems to be contemplating what we said to her now that we have changed the subject. Keeping it lighthearted might help her work through whatever all it is that she is going through. Everything in her life is changing and she is going to get the time that I never had to work through it. "Feisty does n
The next morning for training Chelse and I leave right before breakfast to eat with all of the witches that are staying in Elle's house. For the first time since learning she is a witch, Chelsea will be able to use her powers to help make breakfast. She is thrilled while me, I am a little concerned."Okay, we are going to start by heating up some water for the oatmeal. I want you to take your time on this part. You will create a small flame to set under the water. Be careful though, you do not want the flame to get too big or it will cook the oatmeal too fast. Too low and it will not cook fast enough. Then, I will show you how to use air as a knife to cut up the fruits." Elle explains. As soon as Chelsea begins trying to make the flame to cook over and the flame immediately rages high Elle rushes over to help her calm it down. Chelsea looks like she is trying hard not to panic as the flames shoot up over her head. I jump up and instantly get a dirty look from Elle. She is only allowi
