Making cupcakes with Scarlett while we talk and joke about my training is more fun than I had anticipated. A month ago, I would never have imagined myself here, making cupcakes with a friend, joking about beating a beta in a sparring match that was put together by my Alpha mate. Not even in my wildest dreams would this have been possible. The craziest thing that I could think of at the time was saying hi to somebody. Now, I am in my friend's kitchen, getting treats ready for a pack dinner the following night where I can talk to everybody if I wish.
"So, when are you guys going to have the Luna ceremony?" Scarlett asks.
"What is a Luna ceremony?" I ask perplexed.
"It is where you are introduced to the entire pack as our Luna. There is a really short ceremony and then everybody gets to wish you the best. I am sure that Dante has already started to plan it." She insists.
A ceremony sounds a little far from my comfort zone currently. Dante h
Dinner last night was absolutely amazing. I think that little Italian restaurant is quickly going to become my favorite place to eat after Dante's own cooking. This morning some of my soreness is easing a little bit so I guess that means it is time to get back to training. The pack dinner is tonight so I should really try to get done early.Stretching, I look around and see that, like always, Dante is already ahead of me and in the gym. I wake up with the sun so I cannot imagine that I am a late sleeper but he is always somehow one step ahead of me in the mornings. I wipe some of the crumbs out of my eyes and get up to find some workout clothes. This time, I choose a pair of shorts as well as I tank top.Dante is not in the gym when I enter. I am not sure where he is but the fact that he is not here is odd. Should I just start some of the drills while I am waiting for him or should I try to find him? Normally he is always waiting for me with a list of exercises that he
When Scarlett gets to the pack house with the cupcakes I go outside to help her bring them all in. "Hey Scarlett, I see you got them all here. Where is Quin? Shouldn't he be helping you?" I ask her when I see that he is not with her. "Well, he went out to patrol our lands this morning but he was supposed to be back by now. He probably got distracted hunting. The weird thing is that I have not been able to get ahold of him with our mate bond." Scarlett says sounding a little worried. "Did you tell Dante?" I ask her. "No, I didn't really want to worry him because he has done this before. He gets so into the hunt that he does not notice me trying to talk to him. This is longer than normal though." She admits. "If he is not back soon I think you should tell Dante." I tell her. She just nods to me as we walk through the pack house and into the back yard for the dinner. It looks like it might start raining soon but when Dante checked the
Dante still seems rather worried about me coming with but he seems resigned to the fact that I am not staying behind. There is no way that I would let them go without me if it does, in fact, have to do with me. My only friend's mate is missing as well so if she is going then I am too. I do not think that there is anything that they could do at this point to make me stay behind. Since there is a pack dinner going on in the back, we figure that it is best to go out a side door instead. We do not want to cause a panic when we still do not know all of the facts about what is going on.Once we reach the woods, we all turn away from each other and start to strip. I am the first one in my wolf form. While I wait for the rest, I push all of our clothes off to the side with my nose. Turning to look at Dante in his white wolf form, I see that Kevin is a large black wolf and Scarlett is a red, and white dappled wolf. I am actually the smallest wolf in the group and my red fur is unmatch
Once we arrive back at the pack house, Amora comes rushing over to make sure we are all alright. "What happened! Is everything okay? Did you find Quin?" She rushes out."Mom, everything is fine but we will talk more in a while. I don't want to worry the rest of the pack until we know what all is going on. Quin will be okay though so don't worry. Did the dinner go smoothly while we were gone?" Dante asks."Yes, everything went fine. I just told them that you guys were working on the ceremony for tomorrow." Amora explains. The ceremony! With everything going on I forgot all about it. I can't help but wonder if now is the best time to do it with what just happened."Are you sure that we should still follow through with the ceremony? Should we wait for things to become clearer before we go on with it?" I ask Dante."Of course not, the rest of the pack would start to worry if we cancelled the ceremony this soon before we do it. I would rathe
It takes a couple more hours for Quin to finally wake up. When I hear Scarlett's excited gasp, I jerk up out of an uncomfortable sleep to see Quin's eyes open. Dante is still half asleep next to me so I give him a small shove to wake him up. He looks confused for a second before realizing what is going on and smiling at Quin."Quin! You are okay. I am so glad to see you awake. You scared us all." Dante rushes out.Quin looks a little confused to see us all in the room with them. The doctor had said that it might take a little bit for the past events to come back in so we might have to give him just a little bit of time for his memories to catch up with him."I wouldn't say I am okay since I am in the hospital but, why am I in the hospital?" Quin asks confused."The doctor said that you might not remember right away but something happened to you while you were on patrol yesterday. We do not know what happened yet so we were kind of hoping that you would re
To say that it is difficult to sleep knowing that tomorrow everything changes once again is a drastic understatement. After the ceremony, I will officially be the Luna of the pack and then we get to go and learn more about my past. I have wanted to go back to my childhood home ever since I left but now that it is about to happen I find that I am terrified of it as well. What answers will I find there? Will there be more secrets to be discovered or will I finally learn more about myself and my parents? After tossing and turning most of the night I might as well get up before it even gets light out. It is not like I am going to get much more rest anyways. For once, I get up before Dante and head to the gym to try and take some of my anxiety out on the punching bag. By the time he wakes up and joins me, I am a sweaty mess but my head is feeling much clearer than it had before."Everything okay? Things seem awfully backwards this morning." Dante says.Nodding, I rep
The ceremony itself did happen to be just as painless as I was told it was going to be. The pack run though. That takes an entirely different kind of nerves. After Amora finishes up her speech and we get our round of applause, I take Dante's hand as we begin our walk back through the crowd. When I walked up it the first time, I kept my eyes on Dante and did not turn to look at anybody as I passed them. This time, I tried to smile at each person as well as shake hands or listen to my congratulations. It is hard to believe that everybody here is this happy when most of them do not even know me. A couple of weeks ago, I was just some random wolf living on the outskirts of their pack but now I am their Luna and they are all showing me a level of deference and respect that I never would have expected possible. "Are you ready for the next part?" Dante asks me worriedly. "I don't have much choice do I?" I ask. "Not really, I still care whether yo
Now that the ceremony is behind me we can focus on more pressing concerns. Besides having to strip in front of everybody I would say that it was not that bad. Of course, Dante and Amora at great supporters of me and that made it much easier to go through with the ceremony. Our next step, is going to look for my childhood home. Dante has decided to bring along 5 of his warriors that he trusts most and is leaving Kevin behind to run things while we are away. Hopefully, this will only be a one to two day trip but we are preparing for longer just in case. We sit down with the others in a conference room to plan our trip."So why are we looking for your childhood home now?" Some guy named Peter asks."Curiosity, I guess. I would like to know why my parents died and who killed them." I admit as little as possible. I know that we should trust the pack but as far as I can tell, the less they know the better and I honestly don't know much more than that anyways.&nb
